At this stage, you have already eaten up your ballot with a guard, a tackle, a center, three defensive linemen, three linebackers, two cornerbacks, a safety, a tight end, two wide receivers and two running backs. That leaves you with only three slots. Just for the heck of it, let's say you fill those remaining slots with three quarterbacks.

What would your choices automatically be?

This may represent the bitterness which this popularity contest receives. Peers are not filling out ballots with ONE HUNDRED players. They are choosing TWENTY players REGARDLESS OF THEIR POSITION.

Would a lineman fill out his ballot with five (25% of his list) quarterbacks?

Would a wide receiver who acknowledges how good some of the cornerbacks he has faced subtract one corner from the three he chose to add one more quarterback?

Would a linebacker leave every fullback he's battled off his list so that the number of quarterbacks on his list are more than he wants?

Honestly, I think this annual list gets the shaft much more often than it should. Wouldn't it be more reasonable to ridicule this list if Romo had been left off the list?

Probably about right, I'd be interested to see the QB's ahead of him. In my opinion he's in that 9-12 range as far as the best QB's in the league. There are a lot of players in the league, there's nothing wrong with being in the top 100, there are plenty of players that would take that honor with a smile.

Even his very worst critics--I mean his VERY worst--don't say there are 9-12 better than him (especially as many as 12).

Leadership isn't at all the problem with this team. Being overrated and told they're better than they are (Mainly on the defensive side) of the ball is the problem. We didn't have the horses, we're getting the horses. Be nice to see Claiborne pick one off and Murray can run one in and Romo will end up the hero.. or most likely not, since it probably won't work for Romo the way it does for other "good" quarterbacks out there.

You know, I respectfully disagree. Even Jay Ratliff reached out to Ray Lewis to get his advice on leadership. Don't ever underestimate the value of leadership. That glue, that constant rock/rocks that keep everything together when things are falling apart. Jason Witten (he is the TE) is probably the closest player I have seen on the Cowboys that exhibit that. I truly believe the other players try, including/especially Tony Romo, but they just do not have it. Leadership is innate, it is not a taught skill.

Sure, Leadership plays a part, but at some point the talent has to be there. You can't will a bunch of nobodies in to doing what their bodies aren't capable of. I'm just saying that I don't think we have been or are as talented as we sometimes are told we are.

Without reading the whole thread, here is my 2 cents.

I don't think that #91 is too outrageous if you treat all positions equally. I know that the media will probalbly try and put 20 QBs on the list, but if they were to rank each guy based only on how good he is compared to every other player AT HIS POSITION in the league, then #91 would be okay.
