Romo a HOF'er?

I was debating this between a few of my buddies. Let's say Romo continues to put up his typical numbers. AKA 3600 yards,32 TD's 16 INT for the next 4-5 years. Puts him at age 33 or 34. He also gets 2 SB rings when he's all finished. Does he go into the HOF? I say yes. What do you think?

I don't have statistical information to back me up, nor am I even positive the information would back me up, however, I would imagine 4-5 more years of Romo being Romo would not be sufficient. I would imagine he would have to play at this level for longer than 5 more years. On the other hand, if he brings in 2 superbowls in the next 5 years that indeed just may get him in.

If he continues to put up the numbers he is, and he wins just one Super Bowl, he's a lock in the HOF.

Reason being, he has the same career QB rating as Peyton Manning, who has only one Super Bowl win, and is a lock as a HOFer.

That would be enough to put him in the conversation, but not enough to make him a HOF lock. That would be only a 7 or 8 year career for one thing. He would need a couple more years including more pro bowl or all-pro seasons.

If he was all-pro at least twice, pro bowl about 6 times, won a couple of Super Bowls and played ten years, I would think he would have a good chance.

LOLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The homerism is spewing from you.

Not only no... but hell no. He is too inconsistent and too old. Kurt Warner started late and led the greatest show on turf and AZ to the superbowl and he is not a gaurentee.

McFlubb has a better shot if he quit today than Romo would.

i think he has to win at least 2 superbowls to get in; and a few games where he passes really well, even in at least one superbowl, kinda like troy aikman did in one of his superbowls;

If's and what's were crackers and nuts, can we get one thing first, a winning december first from this guy, let alone winning a playoff game before we continue this endless asinine topic of inducting him into Canton

Under your circumstances, yes he would.

That would put him at 29,000 yards and 240 td's 5 years from now.

Those would rank 35th and 17th all time.

If he maintains the ~64% completion % he has now then he would be 3rd all time in passer rating.

With 2 super bowl rings if he retired at that point i think he would be in. But then like you said, he would only be 34 then, if he is even semi-productive for a few more years after that he could end up in the top 15 all time in yards and top 10 in td's.

That would be a stone cold lock for the HOF.

Nope. He needs to hold on to the ball and win a playoff game. Then, if he eventually wins a Superbowl, maybe.

I don't think anyone in here is happy with that, but at least one would be good. He and the team usually quit around December. It's been that way for over a decade.

I should have put this in the OP but some of your need to stop with the "He needs to win a playoff game first" crap. I KNOW!!!!. This is just hypothetical. Gawd some of you are so bitter about something. I'm asking you a scenario, not the chances of him doing it. Step outside of that little box your in and think about it.

Well name one Hall of Famer who hasn't won a playoff game.
