I love having each guy on that list but it is harder to find a quality QB than any position I know of.

Ware. He's arrived, excelling and should even get better. If he continues as he has since being a rookie he'll be a Hall of Fame player.

You can't say that about any of the other guys on the list at the present time.

That's all true.

But which of those players would hurt the Cowboys the most if they were not on the roster?
I say it's Romo.

We had winning seasons with Quincy Carter and Drew Bledsoe in two of the three seasons before Romo took over, and we had less talent around them than we do now. I'm sure if Romo had never panned out, we'd have found some semi-decent quarterback who could get us to 9-7 or 10-6.

Romo completely transformed a team that was struggling with Drew Bledsoe. He brought this offense alive with the same talent Drew Bledsoe was struggling to make first downs with.

He makes the offensive line look 10x better than it would with most quarterbacks.

That would be my list. However, you can never include a qb in the discussion because of the very nature of how the game is played, no one has more control of a game or more importance than the qb ever. Makes me feel sad for all the other players that play at a higher level and never gets the credit, but that's the way it is.

Yeah, but YPC do not translate as carries increase. Having said that, I like his odds to get 1000 yards anyway.

They might not, but you never know. For two years straight, he has led the NFL in yards per carry among all backs with at least 30 carries. Jamaal Charles and Chris Johnson both increased their YPC with more carries (and they already had high YPCs), so who's to say Felix couldn't do that or at least come close to maintaining his?

I'd say Romo simply because franchise quarterbacks are so hard to come by no matter where you get them.
:thankyou:

This. No harder position to play in pro sports than NFL QB, particularly in big D. End of discussion.

You hit it out of the park. Most people dont get how average the OL is. Romo hides alot of flaws.

Where do you people get this kind of stuff? Not even considering people outside the Cowboy organization, Tony Dorsett set a career high in yds per attempt his rookie yr, then tied that career high 5yrs later while also setting a career high in rushing attempts (134 more than his rookie yr)

Emmitt's Smith's yds per attempt increased in each of his first 4 seasons, and in those first 3 his attempts increased as well. In 4 of his first 5 seasons he increased his yds per carry over the previous season.

I can't wait until we're talking about Felix Jones in the same light. In my opinion he needs to do some extreme lower body conditioning/strenghtening, he might lose fractions of seconds off his speed. But the durability would be worth it.

If he gets the majority of the carries next year, a 1000 yard 10 TD season is not out of the question.

Tthat's not setting the bar too high.

Some back will score 10 or more TDs every year for sure - whoever is the goalline back. It may be Choice and that may make it difficult for Felix to get there.

I think Felix gives us 1200+ yards as the starter if he remains healthy as the minimum I would expect of him. I am hoping for a montrous 200 carries for 1200 yards and then another 500 yards receiving at 10 ypc.
