Fair enough.

We both want the same thing with the Cowboys, and that is number six.

I never said I don't support Mr. Romo. He just makes it hard to believe in him at times. But, if you had to Root for Hogeboom, you HAVE to support Romo. LOL..

Owens though? Never. and that makes anyone a real fan.

Dude. It looks like you accidentally spilled some Quincy on your screen name there. No more posting in Romo-threads until you get that cleaned up, alright?

Should've had a poll on this one.

ON.

It's too early in the season and his career to say he's this or that. The kid is constantly a work in progress, by his own account and very coachable. With that said, he'll find the QB he's looking for.

His head is on too straight, IMO, to fail OR be content with, error filled mediocrity.

Side note:
I would like to see him run a little more often when there's nothing there. I would also like to see the backs more involved in the passing game.

Romo is a risk taker. He is a player that excites fans.

He is not a great QB.

I would take several guys before him being a top 5 guy. But I do see Romo as a Favre type of player.
Well, not every team can have a Jason Campbell.....

I'm on. Always have been and always will as long as he is the QB of my team.

On. I wouldn't take a single QB in the league over him. Manning and Brady are too old. We have 5-7 more years of Tony.

Good point...It only occurred to me during the Giants game but we aren't seeing much of the scrambler in Romo anymore are we?...Is this part of his attempt to cut down on the mistakes?...If anything, that part of his game is a strength of his, IMHO...Especially throwing on the run.

On the flip side, the one time I saw Manning scramble in the game, he threw a terrible ball on the run...That kind of throw, Romo has down

Look if you want to be a fair weather fan that is your business I don't care. fact is those who turn on players at the drop of the hat will support you only in good times is a fair weather fan. If you don't like that I don't care. Call it what you want as will I

Just because some poeple are not jumping on the wagon that doesnt mean they dont supprot tony.
You're making it seem like there is no neutral zone. You are either on the wagon and a real fan or off the wagon and a fairweather fan.

I know where I stand. I support my team and if I'm not on the Tony wagon it's not because I dont support Him it's because He has alot to learn and alot to improve. Show me the results on the field and especially when it matters against good teams.

On.

It will take a lot more than a single horrendous game to convince me Romo can't play. I don't know if I'd put him in the top 5, at this moment, but he's near enough for it not to be a joke. Let's see how he responds to this adversity.

Clearly, this was a reference to Stafford. Can't hardly blame the guy for being impressed with the big rook. Any other QBs you're particularly zorny for, Skins-n-Terps?

I think that's a bad conclusion to draw from criticism...It's hardly a 'drop of the hat', either...This isn't something new that's being discussed.

Putting it another way, is Romo even deserving of any criticism by your standards?

Top 5 NFL QB. Anyone off is out of their mind.

Get ready to be annoyed by Mike Tirico trying to convince Jon Gruden and Ron Jaworski tonight that Romo is no better than a middle-of-the-pack quarterback. He tried to convince Keyshawn Johnson and Chris Mortenson of it on his radio show, but they were having none of it.

This seems like such an easy opinion thread, but it's like some wish to linger in limbo land.

Everyone who has faith in Tony Romo could eventually be wrong. Everyone who doesn't have faith in him could eventually be equally incorrect. It's all good. Why some have to twist in the wind with the "I'm on until blah blah blah" or "I'm off unless yada yada yada" small print legalese..? I have no clue.

With sincerest apologies to the ladies of the forum, man up people.

On.

He has this year with me to show me he can stop this foolishness of tossing multiple picks in the same game and giving it away.

His stats don't mean much if he is not making progress.

It's window dressing versus substance for me.

Because in the NFL, in my mind, there is no second place. You either win the Super Bowl or you went 0-16.

I posted a thread a few days ago about this. His multiple INT games are in line with what most of the other "top" QBs experience in a season as well.

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162903

I was just talking to a guy a few moments ago. He was railing on Romo and all the games he had multiple INTs. Swore up and down that Romo was not even comparable in this category to other top performing QBs.

I showed him the proof and he was very surprised. The difference is Romo is our QB and no one pays as close attention to what other QBs are doing.

Am I saying he is the best? No I am not. However, you are not going to be able to remove Romo from the equation and get significantly better as many assume will happen unless you get extremely and I do mean extremely lucky.

It would almost have to be as lucky as sending Ware packing because he wants too much money and then going out and finding someone better.

It could happen, but I would not like my chances.

If it's the blind homerism Romo wagon then i'm not on it...I'm on my own horse just waiting to see what happens. Put it that way. We have the easiest schedule here in the next 3-5 weeks. Dont let that wagon get to packed ok.

I am with you.

I was never on the band wagon. I think he is good enough to be a part of a Superbowl for Dallas and want him as the QB. I just was not ready to put him up there with Aikman and Staubach as some were quick to do. It was way too early to do that just as it is way too early to say he will never have success. I still maintain the same mindset with Romo and probably will for a few more seasons. He is the QB of my team and I am glad.

I agree with this. I never got into the Romomania. I think he is a good QB. Anyone who says he is not good is foolish. But there are a lot of good QBs out there who never win anything and just fade with the wind when it's all said and done. Sure he can make plays that no QB here has made in our franchise's recent history. Even Aikman can't make some of the improvised plays.

But at the end of the day, he has not won when it counts, and that's the last 4 games of the season and the playoffs. He has to find the mental toughness to win those games. Both of those playoff games were there for the taking. Not all were his fault but he had a big part in them.

I think he needs to learn some of the basics. He needs to throw with his feet set more than he does. Needs to learn to read coverages better. He's not very good at that right now. There are a lot of parts of his game that shows you why he was undrafted.

Don't get greedy. ;) Anyway, this thread has that epic scent about it. I doubt that it'll drop of the forum's front page very easily in the near future. :) Unless some try to sabotage it.

I am firmly on the bandwagon and have upgraded to 1st class.

I think this year he fully figures out handle the pressure of being a good QB of the Dallas Cowboys and does a lot to silence the growing list of critics/hypocrites.
