He's getting paid millions of dollars while many of us have to think twice before ordering guac at Chipotle. Grow up, Tony. I don't feel sorry for you.
True enough, but while I certainly don't feel sorry for him (for the very reason you stated), I can still understand any irritation that may be there.

I'd like the pick and all, but honestly, I'm to the point of just releasing him and clearing the air of the drama.

Lol you won't "clear the air of the drama" if he goes to Houston or Denver and takes them deep into post season

He needs to stay, be traded for a premium pick or retire

I doubt they string it out past the draft. It is simply not happening. Romo can pout, especially if they try to bar him from working out at the facility.

If you want to torture yourself and assume he gets traded, the best case scenario is a trade in June, very much like what happened to Steve McNair.
Jerry holds the trump card and he can do whatever he wants to do.

Well, if you were told you are getting cut and then it was reneged upon, most in his position would take it personally. Even the swell guys like Romo.

Where's the proof of that assumption? I've never seen any evidence supporting the argument that Romo was ever told he was being cut. If you have some, I'd love to see it. Otherwise, it's just misinformation based on faulty claims made by the media.

Just let him compete for the starting job! I mean if you aren't dying to recoup the cap space- what's the issue? If he wins it- great- better for us, if he loses, great nothing ventured nothing gained.

Team has really handled this badly

not really how it works now. can't do that.

The longer this drags on, the more likely it is that Dallas gets absolutely nothing for him, not more.

That is why all along I doubted the notion that we get anything for him. The contract is what it is, cannot be traded and eventually there becomes the fiscal guarantees coming into play as soon as facility workouts begin.

Denver and Houston know who they are dealing with and all they have had to do all along is sit back and wait.

That is what happens when you give a player a mortgaged contract and then vow publicly to "do right" by the player. It dissolves any and all leverage for the team.

but why wouldn't one of them eventually give up even a 2018 7th rounder for him to guarantee the rights?

So staying will avoid drama? Just want to make sure I understand what you are suggesting.

Once he is gone, who cares? The players in that locker room sure won't. Fans will but in the grand scheme of things, that is irrelevant.

All along people keep throwing concepts out there like perception and Romo's feelings when all that really matters is how this team can move on, one way or the other. That is the most important thing. I would hope when there are real games being played that the Cowboys on the roster are more concerned about their own play rather than how he is doing elsewhere and where he takes them.

You mean like the unsourced twitter rumors that are being used as a basis for declaring that Romo is being a pouting a-hole?

edit: Dang it DFWJC beat me to it. :p

he's not asking you to feel sorry for him? he's a human and this stuff can get messy. him having millions doesn't mean he has zero problems. sounds more like YOU need to grow up.

If you want to believe it as false, go right ahead.

LOL if you actually look at a situation like this and demand "proof". It will never happen.

How would that cause additional drama? Once Tony isn't on the team anymore, who cares what he does? He's not a Cowboy anymore at that point.

"Per source"

Come on people

Here's some news for you all.
He's playing in a golf tournament starting tomorrow....not sitting around consumed in drama like the fake news tries to proclaim.

Silly season...max fake news time of the year for NFL

what source said he's sitting around consumed in it?
so if he's not doing that, it can't be affecting him at all?

The only drama would be from enraged fans who would claw their own eyes out watching their departed hero contributing to another team's success.

Actually, it would be kind of fun to watch.

Jerry is handling this situation the wrong way man.

what do you propose, just cutting him? that leads to him possibly going to washington. no thanks. no real incentive to do that, other than "do right." again - no thanks.
