to be even close to as good as the two QB's we saw last night. I am not saying he will not someday be an elite QB, but Brees and Manning are miles ahead of Tony as far as QB's go. I am hoping he watched last night and telling himself he can be that good, just need to continue to work hard.

And do talk about OL, when the Saints blitzed, take away the one key INT, Manning burned them again and again. So, strong OL or not, Tony needs to make start seeing the game better, stop rushing everything, settle down a bit. If you watched the two last night you know what I mean. Even when hurried or rushed, those two looked calm most of the time. Tony looks like he is running for his life and throws too early or just panics and throws bad passes way to often.

I am NOT knocking Tony. I was pro Romo when we got him, I just think he needs to take it up a notch. That and our level of talent should make us a serious SB contender next year.

That one key INT lost the 2nd biggest game of Manning's career.

I'm not sure you want to just blow that off. A weak attempt to bash Romo, at best, and yes I saw where you said you aren't knocking Romo. With the protection Brees got tonight, Romo would pick anyone in the NFL apart.

Say what you want about manning handling the blitz. Bottom line, he put up 17 points and was aided by an almost dominant running game last night. He also gave the saints 7 points. The colts may have moved the ball, but putting up 17 points will not get it done. In my opinion peyton had a bad game.

After watching that i'm not sure how you can say romo has a long way to go. Peyton had all day a lot last night and still couldn't get it done.

I hope the Cowboys don't fall into the trap that the Colts did - putting everything on Romo's shoulder like the Colts put everything on Peyton's shoulders.

The Colts were gashing the Saints for big yards in the run game, but this game was for Peyton Manning, so you knew he wasn't going to let the running game carry the day.

The Saints had the offense to take advantage of the Colts' defense, and Brees just kept taking what the Colts would give him.

Romo doesn't have to do it on his own. He has three very good running backs. Let's not make it all about Romo. Let's make it about the team. If that occurs, then Romo will have a ring just like Brees.

But I do think at this stage of their careers, Brees is slightly better right now....just not light years ahead like the troll thread suggests.

Drew Deadslow would have picked apart Indy's defense. Freeney was nothing in the second half, their best corner was only playing nickle because of foot surgery two weeks ago. Brees had all freaking day to throw.

EXACTLY.

I don't think some folks understand how much of a difference that makes. If Romo got that kind of time, with his weapons, he'd absolutely destroy NFL defenses.

Brees is absolutely outstanding, and we all know that, and he certainly benefits from one of the best pass blocking lines in the NFL.

Romo is outstanding, most of us understand that, but he spends far too much of his time having to make a very average offensive line look good.

As usual, Cowboy homers cannot see the light! This board has zero unbiased people on it, not really a forum board, more like a Cowboy cheer camp. Don't waste your time killing me, I need to get back to my stocks, gone for the day.

Didn't Romo beat that guy who was hoisting up the Lombardi last night earlier this season? Yeah, Romo sucks.

Anyone who won't admit Brees looked better than Romo is totally a homer. I don't think Romo goes 32 for 37 in that game.
I love Romo - he is top 5-7 QB in the NFL. But Brees accuracy and decision making were absolutely superb. He is a notch better than Tony right now - largely because he is calmer under pressure and just amazingly accurate. He senses pressure earlier and calmly throws it short to an open RCVR before the lineman is totally in his face.

What pressure was Brees getting? When Romo gets time in the pocket he is capable of producing big. When Brees faced Dallas and was sacked 4 time and had pressure on him he made bad throws and was picked in the game. Amazing how much Brees looked like any other QB in the NFL when you get the pressure on him.

Brees let the ball go before the pressure got there. He converted short passes way before the Dline/LB has a chance to get their hands on him. More than likely, Romo would have focused more on going downfield and we would have seen more pressure, hits and sacks. The way Brees released the ball it did not allow the Colts to get to him.

Brees is a fine QB so then what happened to him when the Cowboys brought pressure on him and was getting in his face? Romo does not get the clean pocket to work from that Brees does. They do a better job of protecting him.

So we need to upgrade our line big time. I have thought this since the Giants killed us in the playoffs when they won the Super Bowl.
