Brees let the ball go before the pressure got there. He converted short passes way before the Dline/LB has a chance to get their hands on him. More than likely, Romo would have focused more on going downfield and we would have seen more pressure, hits and sacks. The way Brees released the ball it did not allow the Colts to get to him.

It is fruitless, these guys have the Cowboys so far up there arses they cannot see anything else around them. You cannot really talk football on this board, only how great the Cowboys are. Shame.

The Colts might be wishing they had Romo for the game. It may have gone differently. ;)

In addition to my original post, I'd also like to add that despite the Cowboys not making it this year, Romo beat Brees relatively handily head-to-head this year.

Still, congrats to the Saints. 43 years is a long time to wait for a championship.

Just to be clear on my thoughts:

1. romo is a top 5-7 QB and I think he is great.
2. But he isn't as good as Brees yet.
3. Romo would not have gone 32/37 in that game and we know it. When has he done that?

Do you guys really disagree on #2 and #3?

Fuitless? Give me a break Brees like any other QB can be had, Dallas sacked him 4 times picked him off 1 and forced him to fumble 2 times in their game why? Because we got pressure on him for the most part NO has done a great job in protecting Brees and did so last night. When given time Brees can pick you apart but the same can be said for Romo when we have done a good job in protecting him he has put up as good of number as any QB in the NFL that is a fact. Romo has a long way to go? BS he needs what any other QB needs to protection

1. I would struggle to name 4 to 6 guys better than Romo in the NFL.
2. Bring in the old "but he has a ring" argument to validate your own pigeon-holed opinion, because if you look at them, I'd say they're probably tied at #3 for best QB in the NFL.
3. How do we know? If Romo ever got to play against a team that rushed 4 more times than not, and one of those guys had a gimped ankle, and the defensive backs sat back in a zone, he might do even better. It would help if Roy Williams didn't drop wide open balls either.

Romo is right up there with the top QBs in the league.

Brees currently ( stat wise ) is a better QB than Romo but Romo did beat Brees head to head.

How do you KNOW Romo wouldn't have gone 32/37 in that game? Oh that's right, you DON'T. Anything is possible.

Edit: Brees went 32/39 by the way.

I think they're wishing Wayne doesn't quit on a route, drop a TD and Garcon sp? doesn't drop a perfect pass that possibly could have been about a 60 yard TD. That and Mr. Kendra not flubbing the onsides kick. Besides all that, yeah they're wishing they had another QB.

This is a terrible post. Im a guy who thinks Romo has a few things to work on, but if Romo had the time that both qbs had last night, he would have been as good as breeze, and better than Peyton.

PS...I think those two are the elite of the elite.

As usual, Cowboy homers cannot see the light! This board has zero unbiased people on it, not really a forum board, more like a Cowboy cheer camp. Don't waste your time killing me, I need to get back to my stocks, gone for the day.

I disagree with you that Brees is better than ROMO (Romo is a playmaker and would have made the SB more exciting), but I wholeheartedly agree with you about the Cowboys homers on this board. They wear their rose colored glasses a lot of the time. They think Emmitt is the best RB ever last week, but if he never played for the Cowboys he would be average at best. THey slurp all over Irvin despite the numerous drug busts and sexual transgressions he as been involved in. He's a jerk. But since he played for the Cowboys he is regarded as a hero. I cheered for him up until he retired and glad I dont anymore.

121 starts for Brees.
55 for Tony Romo

Did Drew Brees "need to step it up" before this season? How far did he "have to go"?

I believe I have voiced some negative thoughts about Romo in the past. And during the middle of this season, my mind had changed because Romo changed my mind. I believe in this guy.

He definatley is in the top 5 in the NFL.

And there is only ONE Great QB for this season. That is Drew Brees. He is the Super Bowl MVP and the winner of last night. For now, all the other NFL QB's are looking up at him.

But, troll on.

to be even close to as good as the two QB's we saw last night. I am not saying he will not someday be an elite QB, but Brees and Manning are miles ahead of Tony as far as QB's go. I am hoping he watched last night and telling himself he can be that good, just need to continue to work hard.

And do talk about OL, when the Saints blitzed, take away the one key INT, Manning burned them again and again. So, strong OL or not, Tony needs to make start seeing the game better, stop rushing everything, settle down a bit. If you watched the two last night you know what I mean. Even when hurried or rushed, those two looked calm most of the time. Tony looks like he is running for his life and throws too early or just panics and throws bad passes way to often.

I am NOT knocking Tony. I was pro Romo when we got him, I just think he needs to take it up a notch. That and our level of talent should make us a serious SB contender next year.

Who Dat?

Is this the same ROMO who marched into New Orleans and beat down the World Champs? That ROMO?:bang2:

If we were being such homers we would claim that Hambrick was a great RB or QC was great.

We claim Emmitt was great for the simple fact he was, when he missed games Dallas suffered and despite that great line no other backs were able to do anything when Emmitt was out of the lineup. Emmitt was an excellent runner, good at coming out of the back field and blocking all 3 aspects that are important to playing RB position. Barry Sanders much better pure runner than Emmitt but Barry was unable to do everything Emmitt did and those things contribute to winning.

As for Irvin he was a great player but was also a disappointment to me when he got into trouble because it had such a negitive affect on the Cowboys, when fans should have been celebrating our SB win over Pitt instead we watched as a key member was being hauled off to jail and the fact the following season he missed a signficant amont of time which hurt the team
