If I'm not mistaking parcells got a Sb and a Championship game out of Vinny and Bledsoe. and Romo is more talented then these guys. If He has a good coach behind him maybe He can get some of these issues worked out. I can see what the thread starter is saying. Not very hard to udnerstand.

For you to say that Romo is more talented than either of these quartebacks shows you how clueless you really are. Both of these guys were the number one pick after all and one one the heisman trophy. No matter what you think Romo is not more talented than either one of these guys were coming out of college. Now if you want to say he is better than either one of these guys were when they were both drawing social security when they played for dallas then that is another story. But both of these guys had way more talent than Romo coming out of college. Also about having a good coach behind him making all the difference how did Vinny work out when he played for Cleveland and was coached by Bill Bellichick? Not very good the last time I checked.

I've been tough on Romo but I have to agree with the other poster he is more talented than Vinny and Bledsoe ever were. Romo doesn't have the arm those two had but he's a much better athlete. He can do things outside the pocket that Vinny and Bledsoe couldn't have dreamed of doing. Neither of those QB's could avoid a sack like Romo and get away to make a play. Romo has had some incredible escapes and ended up making a play in the process. Romo is a very talented QB he just doesn't have it between the ears. Vinny in his 21 seasons never passed for as many yards in a season as Romo had in 07 and he never tossed 35 TD's like Romo did that year. Bledsoe had a couple of seasons more productive than Romo but his career best for TD's was 28. Bledsoe was a statue who took a ton of sacks. He was strictly a pocket passer who needed alot of protection to be successful. When the pocket broke down Bledsoe went down with it.

Walsh won 1 game and was out of Dallas the following year after that there was not one single QB from Laughenberg, Wade Wilson, Berline, Peete who was brought in to challenge Troy Aikman. Your post are nothing but a bitter joke

Your comment was a bitter joke that blew up in your face because you thought Aikmans only competition in 89 was Babe Laufenberg. :lmao2: Steve Walsh was one of the most highly touted college QB's in 89. There were a few scouts that had him rated ahead of Aikman. He won a National Championship under Jimmy Johnson. The fact that Jimmy used the Cowboys #1 pick the following year on a QB who helped him win a National Championship sent Aikman a message that Jimmy wasn't totally sold on him. When Aikman and Walsh entered camp in 89(which I attended as a matter of fact)they were competing. Walsh was clearly a threat to Aikman and Aikman met the challenge. Jimmy said at the time one of them would be traded and the Saints gave up a #1, #2 and #3 for Walsh a year later. Now you're up to speed on some Cowboy history. :toast:

Yes, Jimmy was slow to come around on Troy.

But the real history lesson is that Jimmy made a huge mistake in spending such a high pick on Steve Walsh, and we were only bailed out of it because the Saints played the role of the Greater Fool and stupidly gave us a fortune for him. Walsh was a noodle armed college QB who was never going to be any good at this level, and Jimmy made a potentially devastating miscalculation in drafting him.

Aikman was one of the biggest perfectionists ever and a tireless worker. He didn't need Steve Candyarm Walsh to push him.

Jimmy was at cowboys practice today. I wish they would have locked the doors and not let him leave.

Plus Jerry absolutely loves that Romo is one of the most prominent faces in the game and all the attention he gets.

I'm sure Jerry is thrilled seeing all the TMZ pics of Romo acting like an idiot and hearing about his relationship with Jessica Simpson and the other Hollywood bimbo's he's been linked to. It's all that attention he gets that makes fans wonder where his priorities are. Romo is a guy who hasn't handled his new found fame very well. From heading to Cabo before a playoff game to a video of him jumping on stage with a bunch of musicians acting like a dope. Frankly he's been an embarrassment. He just doesn't know what it means to be the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. He's not holding up to the proud tradition very well.

Just giving the facts. Romo has made some poor decisions on and off the field from the trip to Cabo with Jessica right before our playoff game in 07 to the comments he made right after the 44-6 debacle at Philly last season. It's all shed a bad light on him and melting down in big games hasn't helped his image any.

I have no hatred for Romo except when he plays like **** in a big game. Everyone hates him then. Find a post where I said I didn't like Barber. I said I liked Barber better in the role we had him in prior to 08. His body is going to break down with his physical running style if the Cowboys over use him. He averaged under 4 yards a carry last year carrying the load and was rendered useless by seasons end. The poundings will take their toll on him as the season goes on just like last year. All of a sudden he's coming up with injuries and he never had a single one prior to 08. Last year it was his ribs early in the season then it was his toe toe now it's his quad. We need more of a game breaker as our lead horse and save Barber to pound defenses in the second half.

The Cowboys had their best team when he was in that role. He had a big game against GB last year then began to fade as the season went on. Check his stats from last year. As for TO he had more yards Sunday than all our WR's had combined against the Giants. Our WR's can't get down the field against good defenses. This will rare it's ugly head again especially in Dec when we're in a must win situation against a good team. Romo will end up having to force balls down the field in a desperate attempt to save our season. We have very little speed on the outside. Funny how everytime a fan airs some frustrations the homers start crying questioning if they're a fan. :laugh2:

I've got hope, but let's face it, not much of a choice unless you want to believe your team is destined to be mediocre.

i say your worthless

Sorry bro Romo is the one who's worthless! The Cowboys are never going to win cr*p with him at QB or these slow WR's who can't separate. This is an average team that's been declining since the end of the 07 season. The Cowboys will be lucky to break even this year. The RW trade is blowing up in Jerry's face. Both Spencer and Bennett look like busts and Romo isn't half the QB he was 2 years ago. And so much for Jerry's decision to keep Wade and dump TO to make Romo a better QB so he can spread the ball around. :laugh2: Jerry drafted 12 players this past April and the only one that's made an impact has been a kicker. Our WR corp is a joke! Dink and dunk dink and dunk. 3rd and 14 and we toss a screen pass. :lmao2: Jerry Jones has ruined his team but at least he has his new stadium to gush over. He cares more about marketing his team and his stadium than putting quality players on the field. We'll see how long he can keep filling it with 90,000 plus. LOL

I hate to negative but sometimes you just have to call it the way you see it no matter how painful it is to come to grips with. I can't see the Cowboys ever winning a Super Bowl with Tony Romo as their QB. We found out Sunday night dumping TO certainly hasn't made him a better QB or a better leader. Leaders are born not made everyone knows that. If Jerry wanted to dump someone for the betterment of the team he should have dumped the fat guy on the sidelines who can't coach worth a lick and has softened his team. Romo proved once again he is what he is a CHOKER! It's sad but true. The bigger the game and the more hype it has the worst Romo plays. The guy folds like a cheap suit everytime a game has great significance. It's been a trend with him ever since he fumbled that snap against Seattle in the playoffs in 06. The most discouraging thing is his big game meltdowns have gotten worse each year. You can always tell how important and game is and how much it means to Romo by the number of turnovers he has. There's no possible way a team can win a championship with a QB who consistently folds in big games. I can't think of any QB I've ever seen who could put up the numbers Romo does in less critical games and completely implode in games that have great importance. He simply can not handle the pressure of a big game. As bad as the defense has looked so far every game is going to come down to Romo having to make plays for the Cowboys to win. This has been the case ever since he became the starter. Even though we ran all over the Giants Sunday night the game still came down to Romo having to make plays. The Cowboys are going to live and die with his arm and that doesn't sound real Romo friendly.

Right now our D can't get a sack or a turnover or cover receivers. Good luck making the playoffs with a soft defense like that and a turnover machine at QB. Right now I'm not so sure our defense could even get a turnover against Romo. lol I could never invasion Romo pulling off what Eli and Rothlisberger did to win their championships. What we're seeing with Romo has been his history that's why he wasn't drafted and why the Cowboys have struggled in Dec. He can throw 4 TD passes one week for over 300 yards then turn around in a big game and turn the ball over 6 times with barely 150 yards. Last year against the Ravens in the last game at Texas Stadium Flacco a rookie outplayed him in a big game. Romo has alot of talent but he simply doesn't have what it takes between the ears to get it done when it really matters. He's never going to be Joe Montana or Roger Staubach. He wasn't blessed with that God given ability to rise to the occasion and play his best games in the games that matter most. The monkey on his back has got to be the size of King Kong. It put on another 20 lbs Sunday night. I can tell by Romo's post game comments that there's alot of self doubt going on in his head. When bad things start happening to player or a team it snow balls. This hump the Cowboys are trying to get over has turned into a mountain with some treacherous peaks. When and if the Cowboys ever win another SB It won't be with Tony Romo. I think that will become very clear to even the biggest homers and optimists after this Dec.

I have kept this under my hat for several games but I think it is becoming very clear that our receivers can't get clear from their defenders or they don't know how to run routes. I am not making excuses for Romo but how would you like to be the QB when you never know where your receivers are going! I think we felt that our present receiving group would work out but other than Crayton and Williams they all suck. Time to let our rookie free agent Ogletree

see what he can do. He couldn't do any worse! Also our OL looked awful after the first quarter and some of the play calling was atrocious! Why not throw a few passes to Bennett.....'hell, he is taller than their defensive backs! Throwing Hurd over the middle in the end zone was terrible! A solid WR should be a priority for us in next years draft. I feel better now......
