It's times like these that make me wonder whether I'm
getting paranoid as I grow older. It's true that the
Dallas Cowboys have great fans, but sometimes
I get the unshakeable feeling that deep down
some of you simply do not like me very much.
On second thought, it's probably just gas.

A veteran like Romo who was throwing well the last game and in practice doesn't need it. Last year he did as he was rusty at first. There's a reason he isn't going to play much and the coaches are better able to make that decision than you; obviously. And it appears quite a few here are as well. Beasley, Dez and Williams are all on the same page. I could care less if he played or not although I admit I like watching him. Weeden is the one who needs the work. I hope he plays a good bit behind the number 1 OL.

You need to inform the other 31 teams then. They are needlessly risking their starting QBs this week.

They need to do like the Cowboys. Ya know...that well run team.

This is not typical of Garrett to do this in the "dress rehearsal" game and simply indicates Romo is not 100% recovered from his back surgery.

Correct. All this nonsense from the peanut gallery defending anything the team does ignores the fact this is standard operating procedure around the league including your own Dallas Cowboys up to this year.

And there it is--that well timed, passive-aggressive, agenda-riddled jab at any fan (moderator) that agrees with what the Cowboys are currently doing, or any fan that says anything remotely positive about their favorite team.

Peanut Gallery has spoken!

We've also been told he's 100% better. I would feel different if he wasn't. The third game is supposed to be the dress rehearsal game. Once the regular season starts he 's not going to have time to get into game shape.I just don't want to hear any excuses.

100% better does not mean 100% healthy. The coaching staff is trading some conditioning time for more security against injury. I don't think that's unreasonable.

Really Brees has not played a single snap. I know you love slamming the Cowboys every move but it has grown tiresome . Cowboys are getting Romo ready and his play thus far shows it.

I guess you've forgotten the start of this exchange that Romo is actually playing. You need new material. This stuff is old and stale as well as non-factual. Not every team plays all their 1s even in the 3rd preseason game. Never have. They all do what they individually decide for each player esp the stars.

Did you get the memo?

Yes he is but if it were reg season he could play. Dallas is not out to prove to something to fans that Romo is fine, They are getting him ready to play a 16 game season and thus far he appears to be on schedule thank god they do not play these silly games that the fans love to play.

Yeah, and many have carped about Romo's back but neary a peep out of them now. They held him out of as much camp as possible, too. I'd like to see him play a quarter but I'm ok with a couple of drives like last week. From an injury standpoint he really doesn't need the work.

People and the league expect the starters to play a little. Some time ago teams didn't play the starters (moreso the stars) much or at all and the fans raised hell. The league told them to play them a bit unless clearly injured. Further back some vets refused to report to TC until the very last. They didn't want the wear and tear on their bodies. And further back some of them had summer jobs to support themselves. Camp was short and mostly for them to get into shape (well some of them).

Cool. Hopefully that decision gives a guy like Vaughan more playing time.

Romo knows this offense and his core RBs/receivers. I don't think it's necessary for him to play a lot of preseason football.

Lame. I would prefer he play the entire quarter.

Two series might be all that he gets in a quarter depending on who gets the ball first, etc.

Frankly, pissing about how much he plays at this point is kind of peculiar.

The 100% referred only to his range of motion and his ability to do physically everything he needed to do, not to his endurance or overall preparation to play. And, I agree, that's a dumb definition of 100%, but Tony did define that term specifically.

I don't want excuses, either, but I'd rather he get the series he's going to get and we give him the additional time to prepare physically for the season. For all the talk we heard early about how he's maybe a lot worse off than previously suggested, he sure has looked good each step of the way in camp and preseason. If the plan is to get him 15-20 snaps and then rest him, I'm ok with the plan. What are we complaining about, anyway? Another 20-30 reps of preparation here? That's nothing to a career veteran like Tony.

That's good enough by me. Tony already showed he can still light it up. Give him some work out there then save him for 9/7

Yep. Even two series gift me the willies. I don't trust the injury gods.
Good luck, Tony. Relax. We need to look at the backups as well. Save it for the real season.

I'm really enjoying this Vaughan kid this camp.

One last Murphy's Law avoidance thing...at some point, one has to put faith in that offensive line's pride in protecting their quarterback. Even TO got that part of the deal.

It's the country club type atmosphere in Dallas.

It's okay to be injured. Hey, let's preserve Lance Dunbar. Romo's in bubble wrap until the opener.

That culture Parcells said had to change? This is it.

I largely agree. But I belief it is more the veterans across the entire league knowing how to game the training camp system with injures. I don't mind so much because it opens up huge oportunities for rookies to show what they half. Or don't half.

Jason Garrett "the enabler" is going to be his own down fall.....How would you like that on your tombstone?
