Ok Guy there was a considerable difference. He missed bad on a deep out Dez. He threw a couple of 13 yard TDs that Dez posted up. The int that ball was sailing. His "duck" to Twill was because his feet were not set and Twill made an amazing play and tracked that ball. It was noted By Bryan Brouddus that Romo was throwing off the wrong foot. He even noted about the "ducks" . If romo was 85-90% he would not be throwing off his back foot he would not need multiple days off in a row. He is getting there, but he isn't there yet. By the 7th of Sept Romo will be over 8 mons removed from his surgery putting him close to 90-95%. You can tell he is trying to figure out what his back will allow him to do, and he is having to retrain how he torques his back/hips. Romo was not throwing lasers out there , it is encouraging to see him moving around well

Off the back foot was because he had pressure...and it was on ONE play. You fail to mention Broadus's partner who said that "Romo has nice zip on his passes" and "Anyone who thinks he's suffering from an injury just watch that throw" if you have a bad back you can't make it.

Oops you left that part out.

Just tell both sides of the story, that's all. The majority of the passes were tight and had nice zip, he stepped into them nicely. I watched it from beginning to end, it looks like a fresh Tony Romo.

The team has no chance anyway!

Give it a rest. Really dude it's not like they are fielding a team with a bunch of old vets and little cap space. They have some young talent on this team on both sides of the ball. The oline WR TE and Murray are all real strengths. They can win if Romo is injured with a smart game plan.

On defense you have guys like Crawford Melton and McClain. You have a 2nd year guy who can challenge for a starting spot in Holloman you've got steady Church a really Good Oscan and Wilcox who has talent and looks to be putting it all together. Really we have a question mark with Carter and LDE.

My concern is Romo and his health and I was encouraged with his movement, but not with his velocity which can be attribute to a a few things I outlined in previous posts. But if he get a 90% healthy Romo to start the season this team can play some ball.

Let's see Mickey or Bryan? Hmm I think I will defer to the scout not the raw raw guy. I'm glad you watched from beginning to end as did I. See having the same injury as Romo and being the same age I can tell you how painful it is, you have no idea what he actually has to change in his throwing motion. It's obvious he is still feeling it out. That isn't a "fresh Romo". I get the excitement, but don't act like he was so sharp. He moved well threw some decent passes and threw a couple where you could tell he wasn't right yet. I'm not saying he isn't getting there. Whatever makes you sleep at night though. I along with others know what he's up against and I am cautious. I'm curious how he will feel tomorrow after moving around and throwing off balance.

I thought Babe, who was on the entire game, gave a pretty honest assessment.

Anyway, I'm glad he played but would have been fine if he wasn't even out there today.

Broaddus brought up that if Romo has a bad throw there are those who want to blame it on the back but the problem is Romo throwing off his back foot.

Got website guys. What was the assessment from Babe? He's been pretty hard on Romo the last couple of years. I think the guy up thread is having a hard time grasping what I'm saying. That's ok I'm not dogging Romo at all. Personally I was encouraged with his movement, but you can tell he isn't right and is coming along slowly. Now that I've gotten to see it I can see why they are bringing him along slowly

I understand your pessimism but maybe you don't understand what being held out for cautionary reasons means. It means they are being precautionary because he just finished his rehab for back surgery a month ago. Is he 100% football ready, no not yet but he can be in a few practices if he had too, IMO.

He looked fresh to me, and I sure in hell don't need that to sleep. From all the reporting you would think the guy was in trouble, I saw the opposite.

I saw the TD passes including the Rope to dez over the middle and the TD across the middle to Escobar. The pick was Scandrick making a great play, Romo said he was throwing it away.

Hey there's a 10 % chance of rain tomorrow, you bring your umbrella, I'm leaving mine home.

Everything you just said is already known. I never said we didn't have any talent or up and comers. I'm personally excited about JJ and Holloman. Also, If I were you I wouldn't mention Mcclain until he actually does something on game day. He has been nothing but a massive disgrace in his NFL football career. I'm still going to pull for the team every Sunday. I'm just a realist... this team isn't even remotely close to competing for a super bowl, with or without Romo. I'm just tired of the posts saying "I hope Romo is ok, we are screwed without him". Seriously, what success have we had with him lately? 8-8?

Yeah so what. He also stepped into the other 90% of them.

Keep in mind our offense is WAY better than our defense. Specially our OL VS DL. You are talking one of the best OL in the league vs one of the worst DL's in the league. Tap the breaks pal. Romo still has ways to go. I agree with CowboyStar. I think he will get close by game day, how long he stays that way is another story though.

He said when it was a good throw and didn't sugar coat it when it wasn't.

Very few "bad throws" ,though there were a couple.

Also not a bunch of truly "great throws" either...but 2-3 there too.
Mostly either "Romo throws to..." Or "nice throw by Romo".
I mean not many balls were incomplete, but the degree of difficulty was not overwhelming either.

Mainly, as you mentioned , just good to see him moving around easily.
I'd say work in progress.

Still over a month til SF.

McClain has been a disappointment with his off field stuff not his play on the field he was a top 10 pick not an old vet or some UDFA. Really? 8-8 with an injured Ware Spencer Mo Lee no FS and a hobbled Miles for the last couple of years and 2 defensive scheme changes. I would say that's a lot for one player to overcome. Lee is a wash of an injury for me as I think McClain will kick Lee out to another LB position next year. But there are guys that are in year 2 and 3 that are primed to step up! If they do it makes it that much easier for Romo or any other QB who has to play. The talent on this team right now is better then the 8-8 team they field the last 3 years. If you can't see that well I don't know what to tell you.

Though I don't expect a Romo hater to accept the following line of reasoning, it's not about the success we've not had because of Romo (highly arguable), it's about the total crap fest that we're not because of him. The defense, among other things, was absolutely atrocious last year.

Why would I not? I still love the team and like discussing all aspects of it. I just don't lie to myself that the team is better than it is, that's all.

From what I saw from my couch I agree I just felt that some of the passes were flat. Again like you said over a month still to go. I didn't mean it as a bad thing it was more like finally being able to see it and the progression

No, he has been an absolute disgrace both on and off the field in his NFL career. He has been a major bust and that is why we got him for a bag of peanuts. We aren't talking about college football, we are talking about the pros. Also, a big part of the reason we were 8-8 last year is because the rest of the NFC east was horrendous. We were 5-1 vs the NFC EAST. We didn't beat not 1 team above .500 last year. This year we have an even tougher schedule and can only assume we will split with the nfc east.

We managed pretty well without him in 2010 did't we? We were 1-6 with him and 5-4 without him. Also, the team didn't look too different without him vs Philly did it? The fall off isn't quite as bad as you think. Also, I'm not a hater, I'm a realist.

No, but I won't deny it either. It's just an ugly fact and it has been that way for a long time. Do you like ignoring it only to get let down every single time?
