Romo is taking a lot of time off to recover from his 3-4 hours of rehab everyday, which involves a lot of strength and conditioning. I think he explained it pretty thoroughly on the Ticket. He's fine.

We managed pretty well without him in 2010 did't we? We were 1-6 with him and 5-4 without him. Also, the team didn't look too different without him vs Philly did it? The fall off isn't quite as bad as you think. Also, I'm not a hater, I'm a realist.

If you believe for a second the improvement for that year was due to Romo's absence, your not a realist, you're delusional.

Yes, I follow your line of reasoning. Just because we've done OK without Romo in a minority of a particular selected subset of data, this implies that our lack of success cannot be overcome by him and is plausibly because of him.

I do think it was Garrett's finest coaching job during his tenure. He had nothing to rely on in terms of Romo.

In other words, I think he tried harder.

Please can't compare what Romo did with Wade as Coach that year and when JG took over. That team quit on Wade. Romo never quit. If Romo played that last game we win. They were competitive without Romo which is why there is hope that this team is better then 8-8. You just outlined why there is reason to be hopeful.

No, but I won't deny it either. It's just an ugly fact and it has been that way for a long time. Do you like ignoring it only to get let down every single time?

Understandable we have not won a SB or had post-season success in a long time. Personally I'm optimistic until I see them fail and it's that optimism that brings me hear to read any progress, moves they are making to get better etc.

If I thought they stunk and we "had no chance" I would not come to the site and waste my time. But that's me.

You conveniently left out the teams over all record with and without Romo the last 7 years. You've also done nothing but point out everything negative you could. While you have the right to your opinion and judging the team as you see fit. You're just plain wrong about being a realist. Like most pessimists, you try to convince everyone else your just being a realist. But, Like most pessimists you anticipate the very worst. Which protects you from being let down. A realist looks at the entire situation. Let's it play out. Enjoys it when things go well. Accepts that things don't always go right when they don't.

It was hard to tell watching from my computer connection, so that is good to hear. I saw some people post that he looked bad.

I'm not going to lie, I'm concerned about him. If he doesn't recover fully, this team has no chance.

No chance at another 8-8 with a fully recovered Romo?

It was 1-4. From the time after his injury until the coach changed, we were outscored 118-39.

I thought Tony played pretty well. He had a bad INT where he should have thrown the ball out of bounds a bit higher. He also had a duck that got caught up in the air. TWILL ended up making that play. Now, I might be in the minority here. I don't believe in conspiracy theories and I think Babe is just as terrible of a sportscaster as he was a quarterback (go look up his statistics). Jealousy and ratings might be his motivation.

I think Romo's back is 100%. His technique needs a little work however. On the one duck (he looked like he threw off his back foot) but he appeared to have zip on his other passes. The pump slant to Dez was impressive. There was another play to Escobar that was also impressive where he put the ball into a tight window. We have a little while to play before the 49ers game. Romo adjusts his throwing motion every season. I expect that it will be fine tuned before the 49ers game.

Everyone wants to make a big deal of his missing practices, but you don't want him to get tired arm after not throwing the whole offseason. Its good that they are giving him plenty of rest and easing him back into competition.

No, I was just pointing out that the team doesn't just tank because Romo is out. I don't believe our only shot at success is if Romo is the QB like others here believe. He has played under his regular season stats in both elimination games and playoff games and that is a fact. He hasn't done anything special for this team in those games. Our team has been pretty irrelevant with or without him for many years.
