Which could be lean muscle or adipose tissue.

With Romo, it sure looks like the latter.

Just because he doesn't look lean and muscular doesn't mean he's not carrying some solid weight. He works out with weights they've show him. I remember Dan Reeves talking about the lack of muscularity Bob Lilly had it comes down to genetics with some guys. I have friends who workout with weights all the time but you wouldn't think so by looking at them. Romo's body has looked this way ever since he arrived in Dallas.

He may have been a tad leaner when he first signed with the Cowboys but I don't see much if any difference. Because of his late season performances, his offseason golf and his body type some seem to think he doesn't work hard and isn't dedicated. If the Cowboys were making the playoffs every season and Romo had a ring this discussion wouldn't keep coming up every May/June. Trust me it wouldn't!

Sorry no offense, but I completely disagree with your assessment above. He's significantly heavier than he was in 2006. I believe that Romo relies too much on his natural abilities, and now that he's in his mid 30s, he needs to take nutrition and a healthy muscle to fat ratio as important factors for performance and longevity.

Romo is one of those guys who should never wear that type of shirt with scrawny arms that lack definition. It appears he's trying to flex them a little with that pose. lol

Eli isn't exactly ripped to shreds himself. Although that's probably a pic of him in high school or college he's still no physical specimen. Both he and Peyton have narrow shoulders.

Being built like a Greek God hasn't turned Brady Quinn into a solid NFL QB. This discussion is silly a QB needs to carry at least 210 lbs to survive a 16 game season with the kind of punishment they take but they don't need to be 235 lbs with 4.5% body fat. Some of the greatest QB's ever like Joe Montana, Dan Marino and Dan Fouts had crappy looking bodies.

Can't imagine Romo looking any worse without a shirt than Brady in his combine pic. Even though he's not "fat" his body fat level had to be pretty substantial. Just looking at him you would think he just got arrested for a DUI and was posing for his mug shot. :laugh2:

You're the one who brought Eli up you mention him in every discussion about Romo. The only time I bring Eli up is when you or someone else mentions him. Here's what got this discussion started between us. The post below is a comment I made to 5Stars.

After I made that comment this was your reply to me.

The Eli discussions all start with YOU you're the one who's fixated on him. :laugh2: You look for every opportunity to bash him and you claim you don't hate him? Dude you've been exposed!

Dude, I havent posted about E-Lie in months and at the mere mention of him in my post you give a detailed account of how marvelous he is. The only exposure here is how much you adore him.

It's the offseason but now that mini camps are about to open and a lot of Romo discussions are taking place you're back continuing your hate Eli crusade. You've been trashing him the past 2 days in threads that have nothing to do with him. Like I said you look for every opportunity to bring him up so you can trash him. Just 3 hours ago you were dogging him in another thread. LOL On Feb 4th you conveniently brought him up in a discussion that had nothing to do with him. Less then 2 months ago on March 26th you brought him up once again. He may want to consider a retraining order against you. :laugh2:

What's being exposed is your hatred for Eli your archives say it all. You may not want to own up to it but your archives do. I tell it like it is with stats and facts about every player, every team and every FAN on this board. I post the positives and negatives. I watch games very closely with an objective point of view that ruffles the feathers of biased FANS like yourself. You claimed you see Trent Dilfer and Mark Rypien in Eli that says everything anyone needs to know about you...NUFF SAID!

Tracking my E-Lie posts are ya? :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

You got too much free time bro.

Your self perceived objectivity is entertaining when it comes to E-Lie. I havent gone thru any E-Lie archives, but your adoration for him is profound. Based in objectivity? Hardly. Bro, I know you got that shirtless poster of E-Lie hanging in your room. Your devoted worship of the guy is a little off the chain for a Cowboys fan, IMO.

And yep, Mark Rypien and Trent Dilfer got rings just like E-Lie. They played well at the right time and things worked out in their favor. E-Lie just did it twice. E-Lie isnt half the QB his brother is yet has twice as many rings as Peyton. The rings dont tell the whole story.

Care to post the proof that he's "significantly" heavier than he was in 2006? Did you weigh him back then and recently? Unless someone gets on a scale you have no idea how significantly heavier they are unless they're sporting a bloated face and double chin. You're judging his weight based on a few pics of him wearing a poorly fitted suit that obviously hasn't been tailored and a football jersey. It's not that easy determining a players weight from year to year from looking at pics of them in jersey's and poorly fitted clothes. Certain shirts depending on the fit can make a guy look fatter or thinner.

I haven't heard any of the writers around Valley Ranch talking about Romo's weight it only comes up here every May/June. A few playoff wins and a ring would make him look a lot fitter and trimmer to some. It's silly to say there's an issue with his nutrition when you have no idea what he eats. A person can get fat off a healthy diet if they eat in excess. Romo's weight doesn't cause his ill-timed turnovers or meltdown performances in elimination games. It's not the weight he's carrying in his waistline that's causing him to fold when it's all on the line it's the weight he's carrying on his shoulders and in between his ears.

Here you go bashing Romo - every chance you get. In this thread, on a Cowboy fan forum, you've praised the mediocre E-Lie and bashed the QB on the team you claim to root for. Its not objectivity. Its an issue. You can post all you want about E-Lie's greatness - until your Giant Blue in the face, but most of us here kno better. Talk about your objectivity and stat posting but in reality you bleed Giant blue.

Too much time??? it took me less than 20 seconds to locate all the many threads that contain your username along with "E-LIE." LOL I'm a seasoned pro when it comes to looking up someones archives I spent 7 years on a board where I and many others use to slam FANS like you all the time with their old posts. :D

I took many an unfortunate FAN on an uncomfortable walk down memory lane many times back then. I lost track of how many deleted their accounts after our little tour through their many crash sites so they could escape their foolish reputations and start over. :laugh2:

You can spin whatever you want but we're only having this discussion because YOU brought up Eli. Every Eli discussion we've had started with YOU and your archives say it all. :toast: From the looks of your history here you might want to start over with a clean slate. :laugh2:

Just some sour grapes from a FAN who just got exposed. LOL I tell it like it is about Romo the good, bad and ugly. You may want to go through my archives and see how many times I've defended him. I defended him all offseason against those who wanted him released and traded. I said months ago he would be resigned and to book it...BINGO! I'm all about honesty and objectivity only those like you who have an agenda try and spin the opposite.

Im not really sure why you're so proud of your forum sleuthfulness. You havent exposed anything that I havent openly posted about E-Lie. I see him for what he is and nothing more. Im not a fan. There is no spin. There is no agenda other than pointing out the obvious about E-Lie. For rational Cowboy fans who dont adore E-Lie what I post would never be considered spin. You just arent a rational Cowboys fan. Your slobbering love affair with E-Lie reveals that. We have different perspectives. You adore E-Lie and I dont. Like I said previously, I was happy his team beat the Pats. However, I dont elevate him to a place he doesnt belong because of it, and you do.

Can you prove to me that Romo ISN'T significantly heavier than he was in 2006?

It's my OPINION and it's not going to change regardless of what anyone says. Romo does have a double chin and he just looks unhealthy in general. His skin pigmentation is poor and he looks overweight...in my OPINION.

Yeah, the DallasCowboys.com writers are going to get the green light to write about Romo coming a beached whale, right? Come on, now!

You're right, I don't know what he eats, but based on how I've seen his body composition change over the years, it can't be anything consistently good. I'm not trying to come off arrogant or anything, but don't tell me about nutrition, diet and what it takes to lose weight. Again, I'm not trying to come off negatively, but let's just say I have some credentials in those areas.

Correlation isn't causation, but you better bet your bottom dollar that nutrition is correlated with performance and doing well in big time situations. Romo showed signs of REGRESSION last year. Just saying...

Discussion over what exactly?

Few posters making assumptions over few pics and stating their opinion, based on few pics? Did you or anyone on here measure his weight to be certain, one way or another? Do you or anyone know what kind of diet he has been on to say he looks unhealthy?

I bet it's No to all ... Yeah, that's worth debating over, it's quite silly.
