He gets raked over the coals by some for saying he wants the ball, yet he's the top target for balls in the NFL. And the issue wouldn't be so big, if he hadn't dropped some balls at some of the most critical points in games. He had a legit gripe about not getting the ball EARLIER in some games, but when you're leading the league in targeted throws AND drops, it's annoying to hear the complaints about not getting balls thrown your way.

When you hear a NFL WR say that he's had enough balls thrown his way and he's fine and dandy with it, it'll be a first. Sure, the guy dropped many-a-pass during the most crucial points, but he does demand attention each and every down that none of our other playmaking positions do.

Sure he does...by both sides. Every good thing he does shouldn't be magnified to make a point about how he's not as bad as the big bad media... And every bad thing shouldn't be magnified to make a point about how he's a cancer.

I'm not a TO apologist by any means, but to say that the good things he does are magnified just as much as the iffy things is just not true. Face it, ESPN has it out for this guy.

Trust me, if the guy could walk with one foot in his mouth, I would suggest it until he makes it on the field.

I'm pretty sure he does that already, we just don't hear about it...and it wouldn't matter either way. ;) :)

Ha...very true.

I don't necessarily agree with the second paragraph. The defense was not really that bad that day. Alexander had 69 yards and a 2.9 ypc and 0 receptions. Hasselback completed exactly 50% of his throws 240 yards 2 td's 2 ints. I just don't think you can automatically assume that the defense would have folded. Maybe they fumble the kickoff, maybe a pick. Who knows, but I would have liked to see what would have happened.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo, appearing as a guest on FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show," on Terrell Owens being a good teammate: “After the snap against the Seahawks, he called or texted me for seven or eight days in a row, just to see how I was doing. Not a lot of people did that.”

Team cancer at work. Move to one side.

And Nixon visited children's burn wards to hand out lollipops. What's the point of this anecdote? To "humanize" TO? To wipe away years' worth of anti-social, insubordinate behavior? To make us feel better about his possible return? No sale.

I do agree with the first paragraph.

Let it go! Geeze! Romo made a mistake! There are scores of mistakes made every game. Romo's just happened to be in the last minute of a wild card game.

You didn't hear all of this a few years ago when Hasselbeck through that INT in overtime at Green Bay after boldly saying they were going to win the game. That was a far worse mistake because it came while Hasselbeck was playing the QB position. It hasn't negatively affected his career.
Exactly...because the bobbled snap is not what one would consider a run of the mill mistake it somehow becomes a bigger issue. An int might of been easier to swallow for Joe Fan.

No argument there.

The issue I have is having to either identify yourself as a hater/apologist. I'm a Cowboys fan. TO is a Cowboys player. He's subject to adulation as much as criticism. You shouldn't have to add a disclaimer to your post when defending or criticizing him.

My statement regarding the magnification of TO is based on this board. Too many people concern themselves with what the media reports or doesn't report regarding him. TO reportedly says something somewhat controversial, it dominates the media outlets and the board. Folks complain it's the media's fault and TO's a victim.

TO helps a lady across the street and if it's not reported to their satisfaction, somebody posts a thread about "This is what the media should report"

In reality, the media is there to sell controversy. All the Andrea Kremer/Pam Oliver warm & fuzzy reports are usually turned off in mid-broadcast. It is what it is.

By all accounts Owens is a very nice guy and a good friend.

I still don't want him on my team.

If you owned the team you would have that choice, since you don't....deal with it.

We do deal with it every time other fans laugh at us for getting TO. Just as many of us laughed at Philly fans. You deal with it. :laugh2:

I honestly am tired of reading about the bobbled snap, the outpouring of well wishes, and how Tony is handling the after effects of the snap heard round the world. I'm glad TO reached out to him, but it is time to move on and focus on the future. When Romo announced that he was holding at the Pro Bowl I am not sure what reaction he was looking for. Did he want everyone to say what a brave soul he was or what? People make mistakes all the time, just accept it and move on.

Honestly though...did anyone think that our D could hold them from kicking the gaem winning FG? There was over a minute left and Brown has been clutch...we were going to lose whether he got that hold down or not, IMO.

Well said and I agree 100%.

We would not have won that game if we had kicked the field-goal.

1:12 remaining? Our defense? No way.

Quite frankly I think it was gutless of Parcells not to go for the 1st down.

The only way we were going to win was by scoring a TD or only leaving a few seconds on the clock.

Other than that we were doomed.

If the field goal was good all we would be remembering from that game would be the defense "buckling" once again.

Why? Defense did a pretty good job in the game int Hasselbeck 2 times and pulled off an outstanding goal line stance in the game. I don't blame Romo for the loss even though that play could have given Dallas the lead because Dallas made some other critical mistakes such as the safety after the goal line stance made by the defense.

I think what Winicki saying is that the defense hadn't showed up to that point that they could hold a team in clutch situations.

Remember how good of a kicker Josh Brown is. The Seahawks would only need to gain 40 or so yards with all that time left if they got a decent return to the 30.

I understand that but I also know the defense played a pretty good game aginst the Hawks that day and were making plays they had not been doing in past weeks. Seattle may have driven the field for the win but based on the play that day no one knows if that would have been the case or not

That's right, no one knows.

Some feel we would have given up the FG, some think we would have held.

That's all anyone is saying.

No one knows.

Owen had his agent send the text messages. Behind the scenes T.O. was laughing so hard at Romo's misfortune that the tears rolled down his legs.

Speaks volumes for the relationship these two have. Owens knows that his career can be defined by his years in Dallas if he gets a ring and gives Dallas it's 6th Super Bowl. All the Garcia is gay, McNabb sucks, snitching, cycling, sleeping, wont matter if hes holding up a trophy next year.

A fair and concise summary!
