Cowboys QB Tony Romo, appearing as a guest on FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show," on Terrell Owens being a good teammate: “After the snap against the Seahawks, he called or texted me for seven or eight days in a row, just to see how I was doing. Not a lot of people did that.”

Team cancer at work. Move to one side.

No one said hes not a good friend. I am sure he is. Certainly to the man that butters his bread.

Personally, I am so tired about hearing about him. Hes past his prime and no longer a difference maker and will go down in cowboy lore as nothing more then a hired gun at the end of his career. Glenn will be remembered more and lauded more and thats fine with me.

But I am glad he found enough whatever it is he needs to actually be a man and make a difference in Romos career. That says something about the guy. But one or two good deeds dont wipe a mountain range (not just one mountain) of stupid and selfish acts that make the man a boy. He will always be a boy in my world. Only seeing him do more things like this will make a difference in my attitude towards him, and I see too few good too far between the stupid stuff.

So in other words, who cares about Romos comments on el dorado. If matters not. I hope thay have a great relationship if el dorado is to continue his employment for the Cowboys. Personally I hope that wont happen. But if it must, lets make the best out of a bad situation.

Prove that he is no longer a difference maker.

TO just can't keep himself out of this forum even during the offseason. :lmao: It's always nice to see a positive thread though to try and balance out the wealth of negatively slanted TO related garbage that graces this board on a weekly basis.

I also remember Romo saying that. Some will immediately see "agenda" though unfortunately because their eyes burn bright crimson TO red.

While he was only doing what good teammates do, ... not many others did so, so that makes him a pretty good teammate, and better than most in this case.

That deserves at least one cookie.

I'm not knocking the fact that TO's a good teammate. I'm glad he is. He just doesnt get extra props for being a good teammate.

But he deserves extra criticism for living under a microscope and not always being the consummate gentleman. Correct? If this were the flip side the pile on would be epic... I'll continue to be the only one that recognizes that as fact though.

This thread was obviously going to take a turn for the worst... more typical TO hate.

Anyway, people better save their awarded cookies for the regular season, TO is gonna get a lot them

I'll try not to snore as the haters put me to sleep.

Just being on the field changes the way defenses play against us. He had more yards and more TD's than any other player on the team RB or WR or TE. Not a difference maker? Only 8 WR's in the league average more yards per game than TO. Not a difference maker? Led the league WR's in TD's. Not a difference maker? I'm not a huge fan of TO but the stats don't lie.

I do agree with the first paragraph.

Let it go! Geeze! Romo made a mistake! There are scores of mistakes made every game. Romo's just happened to be in the last minute of a wild card game.

You didn't hear all of this a few years ago when Hasselbeck through that INT in overtime at Green Bay after boldly saying they were going to win the game. That was a far worse mistake because it came while Hasselbeck was playing the QB position. It hasn't negatively affected his career.

The story involved the microscope that hovers over Terrell's head. That is why you heard about it.

When you hear a NFL WR say that he's had enough balls thrown his way and he's fine and dandy with it, it'll be a first.

Dallas didn't bring Owens in to catch a bunch of short passes only to get tackled right away. His forte is supposed to be catching those short passes and turning them into long gains. He only did that ONE TIME this year. He dropped too many crucial passes, ran his routes poorly, sulked when he didn't get as many balls thrown his way, isolated himself after he screwed up but was in the face of any other player who made a mistake.

The bottom line is that he has not performed up to expectations and he's not worth the media circus that surrounds him. Even if none of it were his doing, which a lot of it is, we still don't need that distraction from a player who isn't what he was billed to be on the field.

It Owens would have been a difference-maker a lot of things would be overlooked, but he's not so they aren't.

85 receptions, 1180 yards, 13 TDs, 62 first downs. 18 passes caught for 20+ yards. 4 caught for 40+ yards. 400 yards after the catch.

That's a difference maker. I really have no idea what or who you're talking about, but it ain't TO.

IF TO and Romo ever get on the same page as Manning and Harrison... LOOKOUT!!!!!

We will be instoppable... what held us back last year.... TO's drops and poor plays for TO... THAT can all be changes... the drops will be less and the YAC/RAC will be more....

If Romo can go under center and know what TO is thinking and TO knows what Romo is thinking WE WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE...... THEN Glenn and Witten and Barber and JuJo will be making playes left and right....

I say put and end to predictability.
