So your theory is that Tony Romo is has the record for the most passing yards in Cowboys history because TO could break tackles. And that's it.

Fascinating. Remind me to ignore subscribing to your newsletter.
Not entirely. Many of those yards were of the comeback attempt variety because of his turnovers and legendary slow starts. We had to pass heavily to stay competitive after being put in a hole.

Ok. Romo absolutely lost us plenty of games. His turnovers hurt us a lot at times. But overall he flat out carried this dysfunctional franchise for years. It is sad. Dak doesn't seem able to carry this same dysfunctional franchise nearly as well.

Not saying Dak is as good as Romo was, but Romo was far from perfect. And he at least had a couple years under a real coach before he got saddled with Garrett.

I'm not even sure we watched the same Cowboys team the last 10 years.

This is the type of game I wanted to see. Does Dak trust his arm and do the coaches trust him to throw it. While I enjoyed Dak using his feet to extend plays, Romo goes ahead and points out (two times before our final drive) what was open if Dak decides to pass instead of run. Well this game goes to show th difference between a QB who looks to use his legs and one that uses their arm to win games.

Pardon me, don't know you.

Your assessment ignores so much about what makes a team work or not.

Or are you suggesting Romo NEVER didn't see an open receiver?

Doesn't matter. If you are saying that you are mistaken. If you are maintaining Dak is at fault under the pressure of the defense, and his crappy receivers other than a rookie and Beasley, then you are really wrong/

Again We need to win on first down and stay ahead of the chains for Dak to be successful

Dak did everything he could within his SKILL SET to win the game . Hurns, Shultz , Zeke all dropped important catches Zeke a TD . Every time Dak would make a good throw it would be called back for holding and kill the drive .

Dak was pretty much Dak today but his teammates hurt his best efforts and left him bad down and distance situations to overcome .

I wont even get into how bad Garretts clock management is because its been the same for 10 yrs and Jerry is satisfied to sit in his box and look like a fool because of his handpicked boy so there is nothing that can be done about that . Every QB will have to figure out how to overcome Garrett because he is obviously here to stay

I don't think Dak can overcome JG. Not even Romo could do it. Not many QB can. Maybe Aaron Rogers.

Dak's best chance at having a good career as a starting QB would be getting out of Dallas. Unless JG is let go, he is not going to succeed here long term. He'll probably not win anything worthwhile and end up with a multiple major injuries just like Romo. Look at the beating he took today.

We’re done with the racial implications, in this thread and every thread. And the staff here doesn’t tolerate toeing the line with that stuff. Don’t do it, period. Baiting, accusations, and plain old racist commentary is not tolerated here. Speaking personally, I won’t entertain PM discussions re my decision making on any given topic. If I think it’s an incendiary comment related to race, it’s an infraction.

I’m embarrassed I have to point that out.

And this isn’t the other board. Affronts, real or imagined over there need to stay there.

Dez would’ve been Dez anywhere. And Williams’ best output was in 2015 when Romo was out injured.

Williams best year was arguably his rookie year not talking playoffs included other wise the year they beat the Lions, his stats were virtually the same, look at them. Williams was one of the worst number 2s, Dez is not Dez without precise throws and part of the reason he is out of the league now, when you have a 24 inch window you have to hit you make the qbs job pretty hard. Dak is still young he has time, but I believe the fan base is tired of mediocrity, maybe this is more on Garret than anything, but as it stands now Dak is an AVERAGE quarterback. Romo was borderline elite. I really like Dak's personality and his heart and his story, and I want him to be better than Romo I just don't see that happening, hopefully it is Garret holding him back we can suck this year and get a new coach. He did play well enough for the team to win here, we couldn't tackle, our safety play sucked, our oline wasn't great either, receivers did miss a few catches, but Dak missed plenty of open receivers too.

First off, we all know Dak doesn't see a lot of open receivers, or he just knows he can't make the throws to them.

People that don't agree on that, do not watch the other video angles later.

NFL separation is not College separation...

When Dak does actually make a descent decision and pass... The receiver drops it, or the offensive line decides to get a penalty.

WHICH... proves things have to be near perfect for Dak to succeed. Well... ask Romo... things are never going to be perfect in Dallas.

Some of those sacks, didn't need to happen. The one in the endzone was completely ridiculous.

Dak looked terrified to me, before he was checked out for a concussion... I personally think he was terrified that another QB would step in and Romo him. Lucky for him, we don't have a QB that
can more than likely do it either. White, I don't even think was dressed for the game. But that was what I felt the worried look on his face was. Dak is terrified someone will take all this away. That
is also one of the reasons he was in the Eagles game last year.

I don't think Dak needs to worry too much though. Jerry will sign him to a huge contract and we will have about 10 more years of going nowhere... Just like all the previous 23 years.
Heck we will probably keep the receivers we have as well lol.

This is the same reason when people talk about Dak, they talk about those great intangibles:

  • Leadership
  • Work ethic
  • Representing the team well
  • Just an all around great human being

Blah... Blah... Blah...

They don't talk about:

  • His great decision making
  • His incredible arm
  • His amazing mechanics
  • His awesome ability to sense pressure
  • His impressive anticipation on his throws
------------------------------------------
It is only his 3rd year. He only started playing QB when he got to the NFL :lmao:, he will learn all of this by his 6th year. Just wait... be patient. <--- sarcasm intended
------------------------------------------

By the time he gets it, we will have had a whole team rotation again.

Romo also pointed out plays that the Cowboys should be running and didn't. Like a play action in the red zone. Basically they had Dak stay in the pocket the whole game with long developing plays. Playcalling was back to its normal conservative style once again. The problem is not Dak. Its with the coaching.

Fair assessment.
