Romo really is our man...

The only thing I really don't like about Romo is his arm, he throws those floaters that weaker armed QBs throw, where he has to throw it higher to get the same distance as a strong armed QB, he did it on the TD throw today, similar to a Chad Pennington or any guy off the street trying to throw. When you see a strong armed QB throw the same distance it doesnt sail as much and those few seconds of hang time mean a lot.

He's definatley more elusive though. I also worry that if we did eventually start him our offense will be even more conservative than it is now, and he will become a "play just not to lose" QB.

I just feel like why hinder ourselves with a QB who may not be able to do everything necessary, not that Bledsoe doesnt have his own limitations.

He's lucky the throw to Hurd wasn't intercepted. It was under thrown and the defender took his eye off it. Could have been a real stinker.
I guess the fade Bledsoe threw to TO in the endzone could've been intercepted too - point is, if you have the advantage 1 on 1 with size and athleticism, you make that throw and allow the receiver to make a play..

I ;ove how people call BS whenit's needed. Keep it up and keep it real.

I like Romo too.

But to ahil him as the next coming of great QB's is premature. Let nature take it's course and be patient. Romo doesn't have the pedigree to be the next coming. HE's going to have to wait his trun,. Wait for any opportunity. And tryt and stay real tough in the meantime.

First of all I wanted to reply witht the following message: You must be an idiot! Do you believe only weaker armed QB's throw floaters? you have got to be a moron for thinking that way.

Instead I calmed down. I am letting you know that SOMETIMES even strong armed QB's have to throw those floaters to get in in between defenders or to simply drop it into a wide open receivers hands, like the touchdown pass that Tony Romo threw to T.O.

If you were ignorant of that fact, I hope I have unignorated you...

You can throw all the floaters in the world if you make the decision to throw them quicker. Just watch how quickly Romo makes his decision to throw it. He doesn't just lock on to receivers waiting for the safeties to make a play.

Everyone loves the backup QB but we forget how smallish he is,I'm not sure he can throw over a big line for 16 Games, I'm not sure he could get sacked 52 times like Bledsoe did last season and still take every snap, we forget sometimes how tough Drew is and how tough you need to be week in and out.

Couldn't have said it better myself. He'd have to play two plus seasons to be sacked that many times!

I guess I shouldn't have called it a "floater". All I meant was that when a weaker armed QB wants to make a deep pass he has to throw it higher and it has more arc, and when a stronger armed QB wants to make the same distance he can make it straighter and lower to the ground.

I know anyone can throw a floater and they often do it on purpose, but the weaker armed QBs are unable to not throw it that way, you see what I'm saying.

All you have to do is look at Peyton Manning Carson Palmer or Ben Roethlisberger's deep passes and how low and straight they are compared to Chad Pennington or Romo.

It's common knowledge and you should hold off on saying what you would have liked to call people until you understand what they're saying, I know anyone can throw a "floater" the point is can he get it the same distance without doing that.

I care about Wins. Bledsoe has a gun for an arm, but what good is it if we can't win and if he's not accurate?

I suspect some will think that will be my angle. No way. He made a meaningful pass in a relevant game. I'm thrilled for him, I hope he gets more playing time and continues to show this kind of poise under fire.

He's now done something which will garner praise and credit from me. A red letter day for those who hate my QB elitism.

He has also done something the Henson or Hutchison didn't do, (throw a TD) nor does he have that contagious fumbleitis like recent Cowboys QB's

Lets see what the guy can do

I guess all the Romo pimping now is more valid since he had a TD pass in a real game, but it still was in garbage time. Even Randy Cross said the Texans probably weren't expecting us to throw at 27-6.

I seem to recollect Drew Henson leading a sharp looking drive down the field against the mythical Baltimore Ravens and capping it off with the lone touch down pass of his career back in 2004, he was a hailed franchise QB for that flash in the pan as well. Romo is still a question mark since nobody has ever game planned for the man.

No one said he is the next GREAT qb, he doesn't need to be. The Boys just need a QB who can occasionally sidestep a pass rush, make good reads and quick decisions.....and oh yeah stop throwing key interceptions against quality opponents.

Drew Henson vs. Baltimore Part Deux?

:)
I'll go out on a limb and say that Tony Romo has a better shot at being "the future" of this team than Drew Henson ever had.
