Romo Speaks

Maybe he should just get farlt for real.

The extra cushioning may help absorb contact. Plus it will cut down on my " He looks fat" posts from me. Its not funny if he was actually fat.

I know what your thinking " Its not funny anyways" Well its funny to me, and thats all I care about

Did your wife let you back on the ladder or did she tell you to put a cap on and sit in the house?:muttley:

Unfortunately ladder work is a job requirement. But, yes, since that incident she's been on my *** to find a new career!

I understand the concern of fans, but Romo's psyche is the last thing in the world, I'm worried about. That dude guts out situations that other QBs simply crumble under. Dude is tough as nails physically and mentally.

Yeah I'm sure he's ready to retire if he needs to he's got a smart head on him

Am I the only one actually encouraged by this? That hit was, as far as his back is concerned, about the worst kind of hit he could have sustained (and one that definitely could have caused back issues in someone who didn't already have them). The fact that he came out of it seemingly fine and likely could have played more, indicates the back is capable of holding up.
I am encouraged by it. He said that it was the worst hit, or one of the worst hits, he's taken in the last five years and his back held up. If his back is as much of a liability as people want it to be then that awkward, bad hit would have done him in. It sounds like his back may not be as bad as we think it is. He knows what a broken back feels like because he broke his back against washington in the 2nd to the last game a couple years ago and last year. He said his back held up and after a the first "stinger" sensation he knew his back was okay. All encouraging stuff.

Anyone know of the MRI results or will we get them tomorrow. Has there been any official announcements from the Star besides Jerry saying his injury won't keep him from starting against the Giants?

This.
It was just really unusual and I think it would hurt almost anyone to get hit awkwardly like that.
He should have slid slightly earlier and he also got his foot caught under him...which kept him upright for an instant.
Dude needs to get down.
This is because he isnt practicing sliding??
That is a coaching issue, he should practice it , since he may need to do it, and he looked like he hadnt done it in a good while.
They wear cleats, so that can affect a slide if you dont do it right.
Rather than run at all he should just throw it away.

He needs to practice sliding and just going down, because if he doesnt do it right he can get hurt again.
I thought he hurt the collarbone due to how he went down, not because the guy jumped on him

exactly. why is a PRO like him sliding like that anyways? all this kind of money into an investment like Tony Romo and something as simple as this escapes the collective brass at Cowboys FO INC?

this is their priced possession (understandably so!) wrapped in bubble wrap after all. seems contradictory to me.

Sorry I'm not s negative as you. I'm just going on what Romo said. Romo said he's fine so I'm not worried about it. You don't have to refer to me as "doc" yet, I'm still in school. Once I graduate with my PhD I'll let you know then it will be more appropriate to call me doc, or doctor or some variation of that.

thanks
Tony isnt a doctor lol and he wants to play.
They will do a mri and go from there.
My take is you cant lay on the turf in intense pain, and then 30 min later say hey it was no big deal I am fine.
Tony said he was fine when he had broken ribs and a hole in his lung too.
All that means is he thinks he is ok to play.

He needs to get rid of the ball not run, and practice sliding and going down if he wants to keep playing.
The coaches should demand all 3 of these to protect him.
I bet he never practices any of these things.

I hate to admit this, but I'm somewhat embarrassed by Romo agonizing after every professional level impact the past few years.

He's a Cowboy all timer, but it just isn't in the cards for him to go the distance and get his ring. He owes us nothing as fans, but he is probably the sole indicator of my emotional investment in the team.

I almost lost friends last night who were laughing at Tony going down again. He's been meme'd his entire career and this doesn't help his cause.

Part of me wants to think it was in the plans for Tony to feign injury so Dak could get a look at a real bloodthirsty D and the organization could finalize his installation as the heir apparent.

That's fallacy. 9's days are numbered. In some ways I just want to fast forward to the possibilities of the future.

I think Prescott is the real thing. It's too bad because Tony was as well.
The dude has won games when he should have been in a hospital bed. Sorry for your embarrassment.

I'm embarrassed I just read that.

I agree, let's leave the running to Zeke. I'm anxious to hear how the MRI comes out, but it made me feel better seeing his interview when he said he was fine. I won't completely relax till the MRI confirms it.

But I totally get your point though, Tony never met an injury he didn't try to play through.

It's funny because I kept thinking the whole time "Romo almost never slides". He always dives head first or runs out of bounds. I think he was trying to play conservative and it bit him

Tony is tough, he will always want to go back in .
I salute JG for saying no in this instance.

Well the best thing is just throw the ball away, dont try to run.
If he is going to take off like that he needs to learn how to slide properly.
