Romo Stats Not Stans

If we can continue with some sort of running game then I see Romo having a spectacular season. But if we revert back to him throwing 40 plus times a game then we will start seeing more of his errors.

The less Romo has to do for this team, the better. Yesterday was brilliant. I didnt hear so many kills. I wish we could rely on the running game every week. Unfortunately we dont play the Rams every week.

I like this cautious Romo. The gunslinger in him made him exciting, but it also brings a lot of heartache too. You can tell he is making it a point to take care of the ball.

People should not take anything away from the (apparent) lack of audibles yesterday other than that it was just a result of the particular game/situation. When you're up by three touchdowns, you can stick to whatever plan you want... and the last thing you want to do anyway is audible out of a run, since the clock is more your enemy than anything.

Trust me, if the next game is competitive we'll be right back to audible-land and dwindling play clocks. That's what they do.

I guess you don't realize the game starts 0-0. The Cowboys got the lead early BECAUSE of the running game. Geez.

I believe Stan comes Eminem's song about this fictional character named Stanley, "stan" who was just obsessed over him. So I think people use "stan" to label anyone who seems to be head over heels over some celebrity/athlete.

I guess it must be the opposite of "Hater"

Dumb argument.

Every player's stats include games against teams of varying quality. That's why you look at the overall season numbers. They include good and bad competition.

Its not an argument, its a fact. Dude is a stat padding big game losing QB....

Ahhhh. Thanks for the info. My apologies to Zordon I thought he just made that up himself. Actually I kinda liked thinking he did....;)

First of all we are 12-11 against the Rams so it's not 'just the Rams'. In the Romo era we are 3-2 with 34-7 and 20-10 losses. So you are incorrect in saying it's just the Rams. We are 2-2 against them all time in the playoffs BTW. They beat AZ by 3 and lost to a good ATL team by 7 prior to our game and still average about 20 ppg. And yes ATL is 1-2 but still a very good team.

Job are you trying to work me? All those games are not germane to right now. I tell you what. Let's assume the Rams win 8 or 9 games this year, then lets bump this thread...

Not at all. Most people thought this would be a good close game. Even Fisher said he never saw that coming. So if the HC was surprised by our play and expected a different game then perhaps we should consider they ran into a buzz saw. Can you say you saw that coming? I can't. I was surprised to say the least. Cause we sure didn't look like that before this Sunday. I think the Cowboys would have dominated most teams in the league Sunday. They put up a semi-stinker against the Chiefs with Romo and/or Callahan having a poor game IMO.

We beat a decent Rams team. We'll see as the season goes by who is really what.

But probably still less than he had when the line was protecting him so poorly. I mean, the running game didn't play very well against the Giants, and still the only interception he threw was because of the wrong route by a rookie. (There have been a couple of other dropped opportunities for interceptions, though, just like with any other QB.)

I don't put people on ignore because all too often they are unintentionally funny, like those that claim their opinions are 'facts'

I don't agree with this. Yesterday, Romo played much differently then he has in the past several years. He allowed the running game to be a bigger part of the game plan. He used what he was taught, early on in his career. Ball Control does win games. Mistake Free Football does win games. Balance in the Offense does win games. None of this is new to Romo. He learned all of this for Three years watching. I hope he continues to buy into this because this is how you win football games. Not throwing it 50 times a game.

Sorry, but I don't fault Romo for checking out of runs during football games where his running back is getting 2 yards a carry.

Please refrain from calling his comments dumb. I apparently really hurt his feelings in another thread about Romo.
