we had a blast when he was winking at the other players.

laughing at the world around him.

it got tough for him recently and we've come to find while as great as romo is, he can't do it alone. as he goes, so does the team.

it's not as fun now is it? notice romo doesn't act like he did a month ago? hard to remember sometimes people grow up at their own pace vs. for our entertainment. for his 1st year, he's put the weight of the premier franchise on his shoulders and done phenominal.

yet we're not happy, are we? it's not enough.

we're not en elite team, but we can see it from here. we need to get romo a valid running game and despite bragging on our OL, it's got to help also. romo has made a lot of things look better, our OL included.

we're still close. we're still in this and have as good a shot as anyone but as we found out lately, nothing is a slam dunk.

we still gotta play the game.

we're a team on the verge of greatness and it's hard to be patient after a drought. but we'll get there. romo just has a little more growing up to do and we've got to get him some help to take that next step up we all want so much to take.

Couldn't freakin' agree w/ you more! Romo has covered up a lot of warts. He still needs help to get us to the top.....

we got re-spoiled quickly and while we're still in the running to go the distance this year, it's still a tad out of reach w/o help. help being luck, injuries, playing over our heads...

we need a legit running attack and we need a secondary who can cover.

but when romo's mood is down, the team is also. he's that much the heart of this team right now. good or bad, we go how romo goes. hopefully the fans remember he's still a young one with the world ahead of him.

hard for many to do in an instant gratification society.

I think its more a question about injuries. :) It's like everyone all the sudden forgot that we've been pretty banged up in the month of December.

That game was meaningless. We're preparing for the playoffs now, and before this game. Why look back, even if we do have to play the Commanders?

We knew we we're going to the playoffs--regardless of this game.

Why can't some fans get this?

cause the last 2-3 games before mr meaningless walked in the room today, we sucked then also.

yes we're in the playoffs. but it's not as if we made a statement to get here the last 2-3 games.

the pats game was meaningless too, wasn't it? they showed up.

hope so. just up to him at this point. we need the happy romo back. right now we're in the romo growing up phase. but if he's to get where we want him, he's still on the right track.

just hard to be a patient fan.

Well I say it is a bit of both. For one, it is harder to have the right attitude when you are all banged up. Attitude wise, we haven't used MB3 right. Forget Julius Jones, MB3 is the heart and soul of this team, if you use him right it raises the level of the other players. We didn't use him right today, and instead ran Julius when we shouldn't have. Also, being banged up is a big factor. While people were being unrealistic here on this board, and talking about how the patriots should go undefeated so we can rain on their parade in the Super Bowl, I adjusted my expectations due to injuries. Before December, anything less than a super bowl would have been disappointing to me. Once the boys got banged up, I realized that the chances were lowered, not that I gave up faith. I'll still be proud of the cowboys if they don't make it all the way. I don't think it would be due to attitude as much as injury. Without TO, we don't have a #1, glenn isn't 100% yet. Many of us over estimated the depth of this team. Yeah, we're not elite now, close to it, but it is still possible that we can get back to where we were and beyond. I think healing from injury though is the bigger factor.

this is my point - romo is the heart of this team. if he's not happy the team isn't happy. if he's struggling, the team does also. or at least the O.

barber is a great change of pace back but we greatly need a legit starter at #1.

They could have easily lost that game too; Eli had a meltdown. Also, the pats are healthy.

excuse, excuse excuse...

the pats won and like 'em or not, they're the measuring stick of even an unfair success.

we're a very good team in a year that's not good enough.

I'm not disagreeing with you that we need more depth. Getting a great running back is one way to fix things. I wish we had another great receiver though, in case TO goes down and for the future.

While some of the running game can be blamed on the OL, Barber had a very poor game. He missed several holes and turned several short gains too several yard losses.

excuse to what? The pats are the best team in the NFL right now. I've been saying that I've been worried about the Boys, since they've been banged up. You can also go back and see me expressing my concern about the Boys not surging. I try to look at things realistically -- at least in my opinion -- and I'm usually neither doom or gloom or too optimistic that I say I want to play the Patriots in the Super Bowl. When we have some trolls come out, I might ruffle their feathers a bit :D. Still I think looking at the situation more realistically, we were an elite team, we did well against Bret Farve when he came down here. We didn't surge and we got banged up. The Patriots also been having problems winning; they've got it done; they're better than us, no doubt. But also, they haven't gotten injured. You think the Patriots would have done as well, coming back, without Randy Moss. I mean when you are going to compare to things you better make sure they're evened out.

I say we just didn't play him enough. Julius Jones just isn't working. I would have only used Barber in this game, and tried to run more than pass. Did we really commit to the run in this game?

I see Romo as a guy who has no answers. Yeah, he's happy when he plays, but when he does poorly, he doesn't know why and does nothing to convince people otherwise. He just gives his press conference, shrugs, and goes about his business, not really worrying or caring about it too much. Then the same thing happens the next week, and nothing changes.

The same holds for all of the Dallas players and coaches. It's the sign of a bad team.
