All of us need to calm down and realize that the scores are all tied right now. No one is superior to the other at this time, no one is undefeated. We need 3 wins in a row, the first one being in 2 weeks.

No one is crying about NE giving up 35 points to G-trash, but if it were us, OMG we don't have a Super Bowl caliber defense.

Calm down all.

It was far from meaningless to them. That's why Tom Brady and the rest of their starters played the entire game.

Tony Romo's last snap for us came early in the third quarter, at which point we were losing by 10. The Patriots were losing by 12 early in the third quarter to the Giants (who had nothing to play for but to be a spoiler).

Would you be saying the Patriots "showed up" if they had pulled Brady and Moss early in the third quarter, when they were trailing 28-16, and went on to lose 35-19?

first of all, i'm allowing myself to get sidetracked. i'm not as concerned about the pats, really. i'm just saying that tony is going through a rough time. i fully believe he'll get through it, it just takes time. that's all. so far things have been kinda a dream for him. save a bad hold on a snap and now some rough waters on the offense in a string of games at the end of the season.

in the end i do believe he'll be fine. he just doesn't seem to be having fun "now".

as for the rest, i get so tired of almost each thread becoming a "no, you're stupid!" "i'm not, you are!" thread that this has become. (not you adam, others in here)

Dont worry.....be happy .....13-3 is pretty good

i just don't want 13-3 to be the highlight of the year, crazy. : )

i'm glad we had a phenominal year. i really am. but there's not many of us not at least concerned about our play in recent weeks. all i'm saying is the team seems to go as romo goes and lately the constant invasion of his personal life may be catching up on him.

he's a young kid and in the end will be fine. but it would bug the heck out of me if everyone were blaming my girlfriend on my bad play and calling her out w/o mercy or compassion.

she had as much to do with a win or loss as we do but since we all know who she is, she's a target to far too many. romo can't fart in a public bathroom w/o it being news.

this is something romo has to get used to. for now, i think he's having a hard time of it but i do think he'll get through it just fine. hopefully in 2 weeks we'll see the 'happy romo' regardless of the constant pummelling of his private life.

I disagree that Romo is the cause. I pretty much figured that this is how things would become based on injuries. I mean yesterday, Hurd was our best receiver.

it's a team sport, so it's a team blame. but romo has not been the happy person lately as he was to start. i think his mood/mindset has an effect on how well the team *can* play. i think he can elevate the team to another level like all great ones can.

but if he's not mentally up for it, we don't have many others out there (esp w/o TO) who can take the team on their shoulders and go.

julius can't. he can't get past a single OL backside.
barber tries and gives us a spark but not a fire.

we know we have some issues to fix and one is romo just needs more experience and he'll sort it out. i have every faith he will. to me this isn't bad but to be expected.

we had a blast when he was winking at the other players.

laughing at the world around him.

So... we have lost a few games and havent played that well in a few wins... so... Romo is a little more serious now because the situation calls for it. I dont get your point? Would you prefer that he still do all the same things when he needs to be serious?

it got tough for him recently and we've come to find while as great as romo is, he can't do it alone. as he goes, so does the team.

As great as he is "team goes as he goes" but "he cant do it alone" ? Huh? Seems contradicting.

it's not as fun now is it? notice romo doesn't act like he did a month ago? hard to remember sometimes people grow up at their own pace vs. for our entertainment. for his 1st year, he's put the weight of the premier franchise on his shoulders and done phenominal.

yet we're not happy, are we? it's not enough.

we're not en elite team, but we can see it from here. we need to get romo a valid running game and despite bragging on our OL, it's got to help also. romo has made a lot of things look better, our OL included.

we're still close. we're still in this and have as good a shot as anyone but as we found out lately, nothing is a slam dunk.

we still gotta play the game.

we're a team on the verge of greatness and it's hard to be patient after a drought. but we'll get there. romo just has a little more growing up to do and we've got to get him some help to take that next step up we all want so much to take.

Why so much concern about the way he acts? How do you know he needs to grow up?

When Romo grows up then we will take the next step?

This whole post speaks of the opposite about Romo. All we do is praise is work ethic and studying.

I just dont get it.

Romo needs to deal with rain, he was all over the place last night. Romo doesn't smile as much when he doesn't have TO to throw to.

This is a 13-3 team, off a MEANINGLESS loss that meant nothing. Lets move on.

He did joke with Kris Jenkins after a play against Carolina. He also did the same thing with Brian Dawkins against Philadelphia. If anything, he knows what T.O. means to the success of the offense. But hey, maybe he had a slight flu bug he was fighting in DC, with the cold rain falling.

I just dont get it.

unless you're romo, stop taking it personal. none of this is meant to be.

"growing up" - at 42 i'm still learning and growing. i'm better at some things than others because of my experience in learning how to deal with it.

are you "all set" and know all you need to know? you're taking 'growing up' it seems to think i'm calling him a child. i just mean he's getting some valuable experience. that's all.

i also never critisized his work ethic, did i? you're doing what far too many people do - read things i never said into what i did say. he's got a tremendous work ethic but you can read all day long and it won't stop rough times, will it?

i'm not contradicting anything or out to start a fight. if you have questions about what i'm saying, ask them but don't assume. that alone is a huge reason why this place can be a beating at times.

we're all allowed to have bad days and hard times to get through. this just seems to be a hard time for romo. i don't think he'll *ever* lose his sense of humor but that doesn't mean he'll always be in a 'nothing can beat me' mood.

regardless, i just think this is a normal and natural phase all qb's will go through as they continue to improve their game. all i'm saying.

some people (not you) just seem to insist on reading into it so they can get upset about it.

Out of curiosity, why is it alright to say something about Romo, but not about Aikman?

good question and thanks for asking vs. just blindly assuming. : )

i just get tired quickly of the "wah, aikman doesn't love us!" when i just don't see it or believe it's true. after talking with you a bit more it can and does go deeper with you and we did talk through that. hopefully.

i'm also not "whining" about romo. i'm just saying he's in a position aikman, staubach and other qb's have been in. growing pains. i'm not saying he'll fail, i'm not saying hang the man. i'm saying he's not been the romo lately that we saw start the season. a lot of things contribute to that, so no. i'm not blaming him. i'm just saying romo is getting some pretty valuable experience i expect will help in throughout his career.

that seems to annoy some people.

not sure of the exact connection here but hopefully i answered your question. some things i just have a short fuse on and that's for me to work on.

was it bill cosby who said something to the effect of "at 18 my dad was the stupidest person in the world. when i turned 21 i was amazed at how much he learned in 3 years..."

romo is simply learning and the pressure of being a cowboys qb so young, always in the eye, having your girlfriend ripped in public and made fun of can't be fun. you say you'll take it in stride but it's still got to sting. he'll toughen up i'm sure and he'll be a better person in the end.

My friend... I didnt take it personal for me or for Romo...I really just didnt understand where you were coming from? Still dont... no problem though.

Of course we all need to grow and learn. Not opposed to it.

So if your point is that Romo will grow and get better - then good I am for it.

More people should laugh... like.... well... like ROMO.

I'm not criticizing Aikman here, but quite honestly, did the 1996 super bowl team look better that year than this year's cowboys? I remember the Cowboys having a lot of problems back then. I also remember Aikman having a lot of close games in his career. In 1996, the cowboys didn't quite dominate like in 1992 or 1993. Heck, probably most people in this city didn't think they were going to go to the super bowl that year.

gotcha. i may have been guilty of jumping to conclusions like i wish people wouldn't do, so my bad if i did.

still learning. :)

yes, that is my main point. romo doesn't seem to be as happy as he used to be and my guess is it got rough and he's just doing all he can to deal with it. that had to take a toll and in the end, he'll learn and continue his improvement.

that's all.
