Fish on the Fan said the other day Romo has options. He said if he doesn't go to a contending team he will hang them up and head to the broadcast booth. Supposedly ESPN, Fox, and CBS all have offers on the table with CBS wanting him as the #1 team to pair with Nantz, which would mean Simms out. They also like the idea of pairing him with Nantz at the Masters, etc.

Just thought I would pass that along. Romo has the life.

Love me some Romo and realize this is sports talk banter but what could "hanging them up" (retiring) translate to salary cap hit?

He would replace Lynch as the number 2 at Fox. I think it would be fitting if Aikman were demoted to second team while Tony replaced him on the first team.

I say this because I think Aikman went too far with the Romo shouldn't get his job back during the middle of the season. As an ex quarterback, I thought it was down right disrespectful of Troy Aikman to push it as hard as he did.

I dunno he seems like he would be pretty good, at least to me.

I think he'd be better than Simms and Collinsworth his first time out, those guys are awful. but not as good as Lynch (even though he's gone), Moose, Quinn, or Rich Gannon.

Are you trolling? There's absolutely no way FOX is going to can Aikman at this point - he's been groomed for 10+ years and is starting to develop a reputation as a decent analyst (because decent is about as good as you can get).

If you look on any general NFL forum, everyone is fine with Aikman but wants Joe Buck to get fired.

I said it would be fitting. I clearly said Romo would be replacing Lynch.

Bill Simmons spend an afternoon with Tony in LA last summer and he went on The Herd and told Colin that it was the most informative three hours he ever spent talking football. He said he was blown away how much he didn't know and how Romo conveyed the subject matter. Give him a year to settle in and learn the ropes and said he's a home run.

Romp has too much game in him, that would be unfortunate if he retires. If he plays for another season on a different team, I will root for him.

The only thing I'd like more than seeing Romo retire, is he remain a back-up with the Cowboys. I'd be 0-2 if I had to bet on either. But I really would like to see him leave the game. He's taken a beating during his career and it's time to be with his family and play some golf. I'm sure he will have regrets, but he has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.....

Pairing him with Nantz at the Masters seems odd but it would have to be because Jordan Spieth is the defending Masters champion and Romo and Spieth are friends. That would be the only reason I could see why they would have Romo in the booth who's never even played in a PGA tour event.

Jordan Spieth is not the defending Master's Champion, it's Danny Willet.

That's right Spieth won it the year prior. Then is makes no sense having Romo in the booth doing the Masters with Nantz.
