I figured he would be popular for a tv spot, but they are really chomping at the bit to get him. Especially if they are ready to get him as a color analysis for games already.

I don't think there's any question but what Romo would make an outstanding commentator for NFL football games. It's very likely that his exuberant personality and knowledge of the game would please many a fan, regardless of their favorite team. I'd actually prefer to see him doing that than playing for another team, to be totally honest. To me, it would detract a bit from his persona of being a Cowboys' QB. Also, it would hurt to see him possibly getting injured again, especially with another team. I do believe he's an ideal fit for a TV NFL commentator spot, though.

I'm telling ya if I'm him I start practicing tomorrow to get my tour card I'm playing another 10 years in the PGA then go on to the seniors.

for a competitive guy like Romo that's the best of the best ending. Besides I need a new guy too root for on the tour. My boy Phil is fading fast LOL

It would be odd to have Romo go from no broadcast experience to calling the Super Bowl next year.
How hard would it be on him if he called the game and Dallas played in it. Would he present the MVP trophy to Dak. That would be awesome. Sweet and sour.

Tony would be great on TV, he has a good personality for it. I'm surprised NFL Network hasn't made a bid for him yet. I think non-Cowboys fans would hate it though...lol. FOX would have their #1- #3 teams with ex-Cowboys doing the color(Aikman, Romo, Moose) If he goes to CBS, that would make both conferences #1 broadcast team with ex-Cowboys. I wouldn't mind seeing Tony doing the Master's with Nantz, as part of a 3-man broadcast team, gotta have at least one ex-pro golfer with them though.

I don't think there's much doubt Tony will be on TV in some capacity once he decides to hang them up.

Fish on the Fan said the other day Romo has options. He said if he doesn't go to a contending team he will hang them up and head to the broadcast booth. Supposedly ESPN, Fox, and CBS all have offers on the table with CBS wanting him as the #1 team to pair with Nantz, which would mean Simms out. They also like the idea of pairing him with Nantz at the Masters, etc.

Just thought I would pass that along. Romo has the life.

It would be nice to see him on the Masters broadcast.

Pairing him with Nantz at the Masters seems odd but it would have to be because Jordan Spieth is the defending Masters champion and Romo and Spieth are friends. That would be the only reason I could see why they would have Romo in the booth who's never even played in a PGA tour event.

Actually Fish said that would be the ultimate for Tony as that's his favorite sport.

If I were Tony, I would be all over one of those TV deals like white on rice. He's had a long, great career. Go out with your health in tact and take a super cushy, high paying job.

I don't buy that Romo would all the sudden be the top analyst at CBS. You don't come in off the street and do that.

That's right Spieth won it the year prior. Then is makes no sense having Romo in the booth doing the Masters with Nantz.

Why does that make no sense? he's a good golfer, loves the sport, has played with the likes of tiger woods, and has some decent humor and brains on his shoulders.

This is exactly why it is a complete crock when fans tell me how the Cowboys owe it to Romo to trade him to a contender for minimum compensation or to cut him so he can sign with a contender

Romo had done a lot to keep the Cowboys semi-relevant but the Cowboys have paid him boat loads of money, gave him the opportunity to start and those things have set him up for a future in the booth

If he retires, he retires, but the Cowboys need to trade him for the best compensation they can get

They would be complete morons to cut him and let him sign the vet min deal with a contender and help them get to the post season

How stupid would they look if they cut Romo and he leads Houston to a SB right up the street

Some guys are made for the booth like Aikman.. others aren't. Romo is like a sure #1 pick for any network. He's smart as hell, funny and has a great vocabulary. He would destroy people in a debate if he wanted too.
