Twitter: Romo took shot to return to game; has back contusion

He should have done what's best for the team and sat and once he almost cost the team in regulation the coach should have made the decision for him.

I agree here. Let the other guys on ur team step up.

They saw results were negative and JJ went to the sideline and had his words about it. I just hope it is a contusion and that's it.

They didn't do an MRI, so they really don't know much at this point.

Well hindsight is 20/20 but it's clear now that weedon was a better choice than romo at that time. And I think a lot of folks felt that way before romo went in.

You saw him trying to force his way in and he did.

I agree Weeden may have been the better choice but it's beyond ridiculous to say Romo wanted to go in because he didn't want Weeden to have any success.

Ok I'll change it to romo wants to be the man and doesn't want someone else to be that guy

Apparently not since he's taken about 30 hard shots already this year and still playing

And a simple knee to the back kept him on the ground for five minutes. He's damaged goods now. The one that does him in for good may not necessarily be some big hit. Look at the play he hurt his back on against Washington last year. It wasn't some huge hit, it was just an odd movement that screwed up his back.

Go back and look at Weedens first drive.

honestly i like this teams chances with weeden as QB against zona and jax...i think its a win win win, weeden gets good experience, romo gets rested and we get two Ws

the qb on this team should simply be a bus driver, weeden can do that as well as tony for a game or two, cardinals have no tape on weeden here and it will force us to rely on murray more

I'm just really having a hard time with romo getting back in the game.

I'm fairly certain weedon could have finished the game or ot with more success.

I just don't get it. It's like tony didn't want weedon to come in and have success

Players are NEVER going to tap out of a game. Not if they are a competitor of any kind.

The coaching staff has to be like a cornerman in boxing - they have to protect the player from himself, especially if they can't protect themselves.

I will never blame a player for trying to gut it out. I will, however, blame the coaching staff for putting a compromised player out there to fail.

Well that would make him elite because I guarantee those other franchise qbs feel the same way.

You just hate him and been sadly waiting two months for a loss to unload. Have a great week doing it

Just sit him til the bye week. We may lose to the Cardinals (probably) but we might be able to take care of business against the Jaguars. We'll really see what this team is made of, which may benefit them in the long run

romo had no business going back into the game other than pride...

weeden would have won this game..

the momentum was in our favor.

weeden can hand the ball off behind this line just like any other qb in the league.

but he can also launch a ball 90 mph too.

i want to see a few games with him as the starter.

Common man, he did that because he wanted to play, doesn't matter if you like Romo or not, you know he is a tough guy and wants to compete. But to think he wanted to come in because he was afraid of Weeden playing well and taking his job is beyond ridiculous, with all due respect.

Seriously?

You must be a big fan of day time soap operas.

I don't see how he thought he would be better than weedon there.

He forced his way into the game. He basically took the ball and the offense away from weedon who was having a nice game and folded.

Fumble. Intentional grounding.

Using time out to prevent delay of game. Then next play almost getting delay -

The were chaotic and a mess at the end.

The team was rallying with weedon in there.

Fell apart when tony came back.

The bottom line is tony did not do what was best for the team tonight.

That is what I have a problem with.
