The 14M pays for most of a top notch free agent DE or WR.
Exactly. A lot of teams don't spend 14M on their starting QB let alone one projected to be a backup.

How about the Niners?Denver has a team built. They know they have a championship roster. They just need a QB. It's why they made the trade to move up for Lynch. He's not ready to play. He's playing behind a 7th round QB. Now we are starting a 4th round QB but he didn't lose his starting job to the UDFA in pre season. But It doesn't matter if they spent a 1st and 3rd on A QB. All It shows is that they are willing to put the required resources into the position. Also they had no idea a Pro Bowl level QB would all of a sudden become available. I'm not saying we are guaranteed a 1st round pick but a 2nd round pick is not out of the question and a 1st is not impossible. Especially if they want to keep him from free agency. Broncos are not the only team with a great roster built in need of a QB.
Haven't really paid attention to them. Are they a QB away from becoming a playoff team? The teams i was thinking of are the Jets, Bills, Vikings(if they decide that Bradford is not it), & Cardinals since Palmer seems to have fallen off a cliff. Maybe even the Dolphins. How about the Niners?

If Romo Okay's 3 or even 4 of those teams then we may have an auction for him. Could probably add the Rams and Chiefs as potential teams as well. Goff doesn't look ready and they are wasting away an amazing defense. Chiefs are unlikely but if they feel Alex Smith doesn't have what it takes to put a team on his shoulders and make the plays when needed then they may join in the bidding war for Romo. Probably won't be in for long but if they can possibly scare the Broncos into making a move then I'm all for it.I'm ready for an auction.
They might even get interest from some bad teams. Some GM could be desperate to have a winning season to save his job.If Romo Okay's 3 or even 4 of those teams then we may have an auction for him. i think he's more than earned the right to do what he'd like to do and i'd like to see us respect that.
I'm trying to be fair to Romo but true lol. Could u imagine if we end up with the Pick Philly traded to the Browns? Philly fans would riot. They might even get interest from some bad teams. Some GM could be desperate to have a winning season to save his job.
I would rather keep him and make him the starter again. Let Dak learn and groom him for the future and if another Romo injury should happen then Dak will be waiting.I'd rather keep him and let them compete in the off-season if that's the case.
Lynch will never be ready if Denver goes with Romo next season. They're not going to give up a #1 or #2 for a stopgap for a year or two and hinder the progress of their two young QBs. How is Lynch going to progress sitting behind Romo? Denver gave up a #1 and #3 for Lynch so you can FORGET Denver forking over a #1 or #2 for Romo. When Denver went after Manning he was a free agent and they had no QB. They were willing to take a huge gamble but that's not the case now with the potential Lynch has. Plus you have to consider the money Romo is making. Denver allowed Osweiler to get away due to money.
I'm not saying Romo won't end up in Denver but if you're going to put your money on a team I would put it on AZ. They brought in Kurt Warner years ago who led them to a SB. They brought Carson Palmer in four years ago and have had some success with him. He appears to have worn out his welcome and Romo would be a great fit considering AZ has a lot of pieces, they just lack consistent QB play.
But in return, they would have a nearly surefire guarantee that they're competing for a SB next year too. Dunno, it's a lot of money but those guarantees are worth it in my mind. Romo vs. another third rounder (at best) -- just doesn't seem like we're getting equal value at all, given the aforementioned guarantee he would provide us.

I'm just using Denver as an Example because they are the most used example for Romos trade and most likely the place Romo selects. I didn't say Denver would be the only team. I even named 7 other potential teams in another post who could scoop up Romo if he was to a June 1st cut, but that could be the reason why a Team like Denver(their that better?) would go ahead and trade for him instead. Especially when 2 of the teams i named are just as set up as Denver and in the AFC in both Jets and Bills.I repeat Denver WILL NOT give up a #1 or a #2 for Romo...won't happen, book it! The Broncos have two young QBs who have potential. Siemian has led Denver to a 7-4 record and has produced some pretty good numbers. Lynch is 1-1 as a starter and got a save so Denver has a couple of young QBs with solid potential and Romo would be a progress stopper for both. Denver gave up too much for Lynch to have him go into next season second or third on their depth chart. They have to start finding out next season and into year three if he or Siemian is the answer or they need to start looking for another QB. This isn't like a few years ago where they dumped Tebow and had nothing at QB. Osweiler showed great potential but they couldn't afford to keep him so it's not very likely with the potential they have at QB currently, they're going to want to pay an aging Romo a lot of money especially with the injury concerns he brings. Another problem with Denver as a landing spot for Romo is the cold weather.
Romo has never performed real well in cold weather and with all the back issues he's had cold weather could present a problem for him. AZ is built to win now, they're #1 in defense and #10 in offense despite Palmer's inconsistent play. He's had 13 INT's and 4 lost fumbles and his passer rating is only 83.9. I can't think of a more overrated QB the past decade than Cason Palmer. Romo would be a much better option than Palmer if he can stay healthy, plus AZ doesn't have a young developing QB. Drew Stanton hasn't shown any development in the 4 years he's been there and with the pieces AZ has on offense and defense Romo would have a good chance to succeed if he can stay healthy. Argue all you want but Denver isn't going to invest a premium pick on Romo. If he lands in Denver it will be as a free agent but my money would be on AZ.
Tony's brain is worth 6 wins........if his body holds up it 10 with an average DAlways makes me wonder how someone like Tom Brady is 39 and plans on playing until he is 45 and we want to throw Romo to the curb when he is 36. Think Drew Bree's is 36 also. Guess the needs to be shown the door as well. Bottom line is if Romo can start figuring how to give up on a play quickly instead of trying to act like he's 26 again, he has the brains, arm and vision to be a top flight QB. I'd like us to hang on to him if we possibly can.
No thanks. We need at least a 2nd.
that is not how it works........DAL has his rights.....if he retires he can't play for anyone and doesn't get 14m and actually has to pay back some of his signing bonus(upwards of 12m)Romos not going to play second fiddle nor should he if he did I would loose all respect for him. If the TEAM wants to go with Dak into the playoffs this year no way Romo comes back he asks politely for a trade if they don't trade he will retire and come back on another team anyway and the Cowboys get nothing for him.
How about the first time he comes back to beat us as an opponent.......will we be all misty and sentimental.....are we going to be glad we got nothing for himI got to respectfully disagree sir how do the Patriots do things it's about making your football team better to hell with feelings. When we in a Superbowl one day and we will win one day we as a fan base we will not spend one second wondering about Romos feelings while he is on another team
