Now this, I actually agree with. He would have tried to rush back if the team were struggling. But he still had to be cleared medically. The last MRI cleared him.
Somebody fudged on clearing him to return last season. He was obviously not completely healed then. The 2nd injury was really just re-separating the original break.

It would be difficult to be a team Doctor. You're always going to get pushed by team management to "clear" players. It's really hard to establish what is "good enough".

If a normal person had the same injury, most regular Doctors would likely not clear them even now. I had a hairline fracture from Wakeboarding so small that it was difficult to see on the X-Rays. My Doctor absolutely forbid me to return to Wakeboarding for way longer than Romo has had this injury.

I don't feel too bad for those Doctors because I'm sure they are very well compensated and get a lot of the perks of being affiliated with a pro sports team.

I don't care how sharp he looks. No one is questioning his ability to throw the ball. We question can he take a hit.

If the OL protects him the same as they have been Dak, Tony will not be taking many hits.
The hardest I believe Dak was hit was on a running play. Or when he was outside the pocket attempting to throw.

Tony can take the hits, it's those awkward hits that has been the issue, as they would be with most QB's. It is just unfortunate it happened to Tony more so than others.

On this board, every quarterback hit is a WWE style flying body press that knocks the QB off his feet like Street Fighter 5. In reality, most sacks are the QB getting dragged down or tripped up. QBs can go games without taking a running, free hit or be unlucky and take many in one game. It depends.

It wouldn't be an issue with most other QB's actually. He has the body of a golfer and is 36 years old. Injuries that happen to him, most other QB's walk away unscathed.

Still a tough SOB, but that's just the fact of the matter.

Better comprehension of physics would really provide laypeople with a better understanding why bone-related injuries seemingly occur more often for some athletes and not as often for other athletes.

Romo throwing makes me excited but I am one conflicted fan

Don't worry, as soon as Dak loses a single game, the Romo bandwagon will suddenly get very crowded. Same thing just happened here in Denver -- Paxton Lynch comes in two weeks ago, throws a few nice balls and all of the sudden, it's a wild QB controversy. Lynch starts last week, looks like a rookie and now NO ONE wants Lynch to start, not even a discussion.

Not saying Dak will regress and look like Paxton Lynch did this past weekend -- just pointing out how quickly perceptions can change. I also suspect that Romo will help change some of those perceptions himself because he's a GREAT QB and will likely perform at a very high level. Unbelievable how many people have seemingly forgotten just how good this guy is. Don't worry, he'll remind everyone. Again. And I'm going to laugh at a lot of people.

Oh I know but we're just riding some good momentum with Dak but I do want to see #9 back out there slinging the ball over and making that magical plays.

Exactly what I was thinking. If we were say 2-3 or last week would have been 1-3, I think there was a good chance the doctor would have noticed that he was "healed" sooner.

In 2014, the year after the real back issue, he looked fine was moving around in the pocket, making great plays. I know he is older now but not like he aged 10 years since his last game. The only real concern with Tony is the disc issue. That could go anytime, with a twist, slide, throw, quick turn, etc. That is the only concern I have with Romo. I do not buy this brittle bones stuff, actually, I find it very silly and laugh at grown adults that spew such nonsense. I fully expect that Tony will be Tony and back out there playing elite level football in a few short weeks. But hey, if i am wrong, We roll with Dak and that is not half bad either.

This depends on the health of Romo and Dez. Dez gets injured all the time because he doesn't know when to go down.

All the time??? since when do dez gets injured all the time???

You do the math. Problem is, he's not 21 and can't run through guys anymore. At some point, he needs to see trouble and go down.

Great post here, especially the second paragraph.

i did the math when i saw "key" words you said in the same reply which is "Dez" "hurt" and "All the time" in the same sentence

i just challenging the all the time part cause thats false the last 2 years yes but not all the time...

And how do u know he can't run through guys anymore?? i disagree with that statement too i think he can still run through guys

Dez got hurt because of how hard his knee hit the ground getting tackled your gonna get tackled and u may get hurt getting tackled is part of the game but get ur message of it all
