Romo wasn't that great. Sheesh, I know players get romanticized after they retire, but come on, man. The guy was a choker. This was proven conclusively throughout his career. He choked more than Dak has so far if you include the three straight "win and in" games he failed in.

You talk about needing an all-star cast. Romo had that - 13-3 record with one seed, and an NFL record number of pro bowl players around him. Result? One and done. If he couldn't lead the team to an NFC title game that year, then he would never get it done.

Dak has failed a similar test, so the answer to the OP question is none of the above. Tank and draft a real QB in the first round instead.
Wr could post some stats....but what difference does it make at this point? All i hear is romo the choker and no one wiiling ti give examples. Are there a couple? Sure....everyone has em.

Romo was one of the better qbs among a lot if very good qbs by todays numbes.

Romo.

“Choker” Romo was a myth. Based on nothing but ever extending definition of choking, trying to do too much for average to bad teams, and subjectively just associating him with the actual definition of choking on a broken record repeat of saying such over and over again. He had the highest QB rating in the fourth quarter of all QBs in the game when he retired and his playoff TD/INT was 8/2 with one INT occurring on a desperation last play of the game throw into the end zone.
People dont want to go into too much detail about it. They would have to face facts that they are wrong about it. So they just kick some dirt around and run off.

We have been though this before. We have different definitions and requirements for "choker". It's no biggie.

There was one guy that recenlty defined it perfectly, in mho. I'll see if I can find it.

I gave you an example of Romo valiantly fighting all the way to to the end and the defense let us down. Wanna give an example one or two of Romo's "choking" games?
Vikings game and Giants game. Both playoff games.

Depends on which Romo and which Dak.

The Romo late in his career seemed to have the mental part figured out ...... but his body was done.

Early Dak was a confident kid who made very few mistakes ........ recent Dak seems to fall apart mentally early in playoff games and against the 49'rs anytime.

I’ll take Dak, only because there’s still time for him to prove himself. Tony was a big stats guy who always wilted even when surrounded by a pro bowl offense. He choked in his first ever playoff game when we had the game won, and he was a bad leader taking guys to Cabo before our first playoff game as the #1 seed. He played with some of the best receivers Dallas has ever had. He played with the best TE Dallas has ever had. He played with a RB that led the league in rushing, and he played 3 of the best OLMen Dallas has had, all in their primes. He was the QB who made all the great plays….until you really needed him.

Dak hasn’t proven anything in that regard either, but at least there’s still a chance. Romo was the ultimate “next year” QB for me.

Being part of a team that loses a game doesn’t mean you choked no matter how many times you try to regurgitate this. If that was the case then every team that lost to the Giants choked in 2007 when they won the SB including Tom Brady and the 17-0 Patriots.
It’s well regarded that the Pats choked against Eli twice. Nobody thought Giants was the better team. It was a choke job. A choke job is when you don’t play to your potential.

No it isn’t “well-regarded”. There’s also the saying “Any Given Sunday” which preceded the mostly modern idea of choking, and some teams just don’t match up as well against other teams and always play them tough despite their records. If the Giants won once it could be considered a fluke. If they won twice it’s not since they likely matched up well against each other, like the Giants defensive line did against Brady and his line. This is what I mean by the ever extending the definition of choke.

Yeah any given Sunday you can choke. Sure
I never once said Giants win was a fluke. I said Pats choked. Cowboys choked too. But this is what Jerry does. This is how he sells it. We got smoked by the Packers and they went toe to toe with the 49ers so that must mean we are close. Jerry logic. Oh we lost to the Giants and yeah it was a choke job so let’s bring the same team back and the results will be different.

You still don't get it, and you still just keep repeating the word choke because now you're stuck in this encompassing, over-generalized meaning which means to lose. It's like saying that man is an animal. Yeah. But so is a bear, and a cat, and a fish.

You know why they call it "choking" right? It's because it's a hyperbolic reference to physical choking, i.e., you have a hard time breathing because you become anxious, which results in weakness, fear, shaking, losing confidence, etc., and all of the other physical symptoms that manifest from such a mental state, that you can't perform.

You can find my answer in one of the previous eight Dak v Romo threads we've had.
You miscounted, pimping; the number of QB#9 v. QB#4 threads is closer to eight dozen since Prescott replaced Tony way back in 2016.

Neither.

Can’t wait for a 1st round quarterback, with high pedigree, to take snaps again.
