Romo, easy for me. Can’t think of a thing Dak does better than Romo. I can think of a handful the other way. Also, state of QBs in the league when Romo played seemed much better and deeper than today. The QBs Romo found himself among, seems to blow the QBs today out of the water.

To me, Romo is a better passer, a smarter player, better mobility in the pocket and comparable outside the pocket, managed down and distance better, and made players better around him as a leader. He definitely seemed to manage Garrett and had to. That isn’t happening with Dak and coach Mac though it’s not Dak’s fault.

I felt like Romo carried so much more dead weight between the coach and some of the players too.

I don’t find Dak and Romo to be losers. At least how it’s defined in this forum where if they don’t win a Super Bowl, they’re a loser. There’s too many great QBs that didn’t get it done and some average QBs that did.

If you had to pick one to build a team around? Romo by a mile and it's not even debatable once you dive past face value stats and look into the teams, coaches, state of QBs, and playoff games.

The teams Romo dragged to .500, Dak would struggle to win 4 or 5 games honestly.

Dak has been atrocious in the post season. Down at halftime and entering the 4th sometimes by 2-3 scores. Romo in the losses(non min) however usually had us up at halftime and entering the 4th.

Besides the "leadership" thing Dak gets in the media there's not one thing he does better then Romo when he was healthy.

And the whole thing of Romo being a chocker is simply due to the mouth breathing click bait journalists. During his tenor he was the premier 4th quarter and OT quarterback when it came to QBR and etc. Hardly anyone was better then him in the 4th

Surprised by how many picked Romo we were struggling to just get into the postseason with him. I remember multiple times of us getting eliminated week 16. By the time I felt like Romo finally figured things out his body was done.
You remember that bit you dont remember the State of the division of each era . . . AMAZING

Same way I know Barry Sanders was better than Thurman Thomas even though Barry had 1 win, 91 carries for 386 yards and scored 1 touchdown in 6 games in the playoffs in his career. I've watched them both play.

One could play the position at a high level without an all star cast around him.

One needs an all star cast & a feeble opponent to look competent.

What is Prescott's record in playoffs or against a fairly matched opponent?

Football organizations tune out the fans & media when making football decisions.

This organization embraces the attention, consequences be damned.

Romo wasn't that great. Sheesh, I know players get romanticized after they retire, but come on, man. The guy was a choker. This was proven conclusively throughout his career. He choked more than Dak has so far if you include the three straight "win and in" games he failed in.

You talk about needing an all-star cast. Romo had that - 13-3 record with one seed, and an NFL record number of pro bowl players around him. Result? One and done. If he couldn't lead the team to an NFC title game that year, then he would never get it done.

Dak has failed a similar test, so the answer to the OP question is none of the above. Tank and draft a real QB in the first round instead.
Agaian . . . He said He watched them play. I believe you are judging by box scores.

Yeah any given Sunday you can choke. Sure
I never once said Giants win was a fluke. I said Pats choked. Cowboys choked too. But this is what Jerry does. This is how he sells it. We got smoked by the Packers and they went toe to toe with the 49ers so that must mean we are close. Jerry logic. Oh we lost to the Giants and yeah it was a choke job so let’s bring the same team back and the results will be different.
Wow . . . you doubled down

You still don't get it, and you still just keep repeating the word choke because now you're stuck in this encompassing, over-generalized meaning which means to lose. It's like saying that man is an animal. Yeah. But so is a bear, and a cat, and a fish.

You know why they call it "choking" right? It's because it's a hyperbolic reference to physical choking, i.e., you have a hard time breathing because you become anxious, which results in weakness, fear, shaking, losing confidence, etc., and all of the other physical symptoms that manifest from such a mental state, that you can't perform.
Like when Dak os on the sidelines with the deer in the headlights look in his eyes

Did you say this with the Deion or Diggs thread or the Micah or Demarcus thread
Would it make you feel better if I did? I think they’re ridiculous as well. I’m no fan of Dak, and I think it’s ridiculous when his fans still bring up Romo to antagonize others. This thread is just antagonizing them to continue the same old tired arguments. Come on, Diggs, nor Micah draw the type of vitriol Romo/Dak draws even though he’s been gone for 8 years, I know you know this. I’m as ready as the next guy to move on from Dak, but let’s call this for what it is.

It is what it is. Its a slow time of the year and the Cowboys didn't really add any new agents to talk about. All we are left is a discussion like this

I know some will feel antagonized but why should they? It is nothing personal to them or their family

I think Romo is the most underrated QB of all time. He had a good D maybe, what, once? And they folded in the playoffs (09?)
