I really liked Danny White, but Romo was the better qb on much worse teams in his career.
We all saw how Aikman did when his team went south on him in 1997 and beyond.
So I guess Aikman sucks.
Such a BS thread.
Kill yourselves.
i think that white was the better qb. white had to deal with a different set of rules that the defense could get away with. white won playoff games that romo could not.
For a long time I had Danny as our 3rd best QB but I'll concede Tony as #3 now. I do agree it's much closer than some think. Danny though did have the better career. 3 straight NFC Championships and that's hard to do. Just ask Tony.
Yes, Holding #75 basically ended his career, the team started aging quickly during the 81 season.Correct. To think Danny White had some terrific team around him every season is nuts...
And that is too bad. The organization put him up on a pedestal that I don't think he was capable of fulfilling.
Too much was put on his shoulders. We went as well as he went and as far as he could play well. But invariably, the breakdown in learning from when we did experience some "success" was his cross to bear.
perhaps but he lost to the Rams at home in a wild card game in 1983, was atrocious against the Eagles and Commanders in the championship games and OMG imagine if Romo fumbled the ball away on a game winning drive in the playoffs,,,
White had some bad plays too, but the dramatic fashion mistake was not something he got notorious for.White, i love Romo but you lived and died by the interception. That will be the begining and end of Romos legacy, the interception that will come.
It would probably be treated like the fumbled snap, although that has zero to do with playing QB.perhaps but he lost to the Rams at home in a wild card game in 1983, was atrocious against the Eagles and Commanders in the championship games and OMG imagine if Romo fumbled the ball away on a game winning drive in the playoffs,,,

White had way better teams around him. When they left, he lost his job.
Is this a serious question?
Talent/skill wise, Tony is the best QB this franchise has ever had
There is a debate going on here in San Antonio on the local ESPN radio show. Who is the third best QB in Cowboy's history between Romo and Danny White. Having seen the entire career of both, it seems evident to me, but i wanted to pose the question to the board to see if my opinion is not as concrete as i believe.
Romo lived and died by the interception? Do you even know who Danny White is?White, i love Romo but you lived and died by the interception. That will be the begining and end of Romos legacy, the interception that will come.
Was the tuck rule involved In that play? I just remember the fumble then going on my parents back porch and cryingPeople forget, Danny White made "The Catch" a moment in history. After the 49ers scored, White drove down to mid field and (in what now would be called the "Tuck Rule") got hit and fumbled. Game over
The Tuck Rule wasn't created until it was used to screw the Raiders out of a win. Nobody cared in the early eighties. QB got hit and fumbled, it was a fumble. Was the tuck rule involved In that play? I just remember the fumble then going on my parents back porch and crying
Oh I'm aware..just didn't know if the 'rule' could have been interpreted that way back then. Couldn't imagine being a Raider fan and having to endure that bsThe Tuck Rule wasn't created until it was used to screw the Raiders out of a win. Nobody cared in the early eighties.
