It didn't happen. Since the team was the #1 seed, they had a bye week and it was during that week Romo and three other players went to Cabo and under the HC's (Wade Phillips) full assent. It had no impact on the game because it impacted no preparatory activities.

It's a stupid criticism that only Romo-bashers, i.e., those with an already negative pre-conceived bias towards him, still reiterate almost twenty years after the fact. I guess they think Romo should've been burning the midnight oil during the bye week looking at film and tossing footballs to the janitor and cleaning lady 24/7.
I know, they try that time and time again. I just consider the source, especially that poster.

Neither had a great D at any time.
I don't disagree with this but it is also true that Dak had three consecutive defenses which finished top three in turnovers, one of them 1st.

This played a very significant role on the success of the offense and the three straight 12-5 seasons.

He also had two playoff defenses which held opponents to 20 or under.

The Romo attacks were always so absurd and unjustified. That being said, it never reached the level of visceral hatred that it has for many with Dak. But this board isn’t grown up enough for that discussion.

You better rethink that. Romo got blasted as much or more than lover boy has.

How funny is this. AC logged off and so did TMC, all at the same time. Coincidence or no? lmao

I can’t believe there are Cowboys “fans” who not only trash Aikman but Romo too. Tony Romo was a legend and a man. Yeah we never won a Super Bowl with him but that was a man I could respect. I’m getting really tired of all these people who come on here to prop up Dak and in the process are trying to tarnish Troy’s legacy and Romo’s heroics. Not trying to make another Dak thread but enough with trolling these boards! Tony Romo was talented and we wish we could have a man like that again running this football team
Sorry but romo is no man. He still isnt. He makes not so funny jokes and plays the clown just because he need to be liked. No grown up man has such psychological defencies. At least not the ones who one can take serious.

And heck where do you got from that he is a legend? Why should he even be? Seriously i understand you like the guy but no need to exaggerate in that way.

Romo was an average NFL QB. He had his moments and sometimes was really fun to watch. For some he might even be fun listening to.

But to stroke your soul: he for sure he was ways better than the bum we starting right now. Heck i think he still is.

And thats it for that.

I think every fan as the right to critique any player on the current roster. It doesn't matter if the player is a quarterback, linebacker, running back, etc. What some of the Dak homers didn't realize was despite them posting endless propaganda threads on here, Dak got more hate than he would've otherwise, because of their hypocrisy and their willingness to bury other players that some fans like for the sake of propping their guy up. Then to go after cowboys Royalty like Aikman, Emmitt, and Irvin because of something to do about Dak, that seemed like the ultimate low. We heard crazy things like Aikman was average; that Dak would've won three superbowls on those teams and done better. That Emmitt had some sort of deminished mental capacity from taking one to many hits on the head, when he critized Dak, etc. Even Jimmy got some shade for saying that he wouldn't have re-signed Dak to that rideculous contract. The Irony is that Dak homers despite trying to change people minds ended up making people hate Dak more.
I completely agree. I also agree any fan can critique a player. It’s hating a player for the sake of propping Dak up is what took it over the edge for me. Yeah the crazy stuff of Aikman being average and Emmitt having brain issues to push an agenda for Dak is what makes me really look forward to him being gone. Aikman won 3 Super Bowls, 1st ballot HOFer, arguably most accurate passer in nfl history and he became average in fans’ eyes?!?

Anyone can show Dak love but crapping on Cowboys royalty and other players on the roster is not convincing other fans that Dak is awesome.

Where does Tony Romo rank all time in the NFL?

NFL All Time Stats

Tony Romo is 4th all-time career passer rating (97.1). He is 29th all time in passing yards (34,183). He ranks 15th all time in 4th quarter comebacks (25). He ranks 6th in career completion percentage (65.3%).Jun 21, 2024
Dak is about to pass most of these Romo career total stats.

Loved Tony Romo..
He was dynamic and fun to watch. He also had a lot of those "nooo Danny noooo" moments as well. The most unfortunate thing with Romo (from my opinion) was that by the time he put it altogether, his body broke down. If we had better coaching leadership (and a GM that could have put a more well rounded team around him). I think he would have at least gotten to the SB and possibly1-2 trophies. Both he and Dak suffered from the short-sightedness of GM Jones and cap man Stephen. Yes, i think Dak would have gotten to a SB if we had a GM that used all available resources at his disposal a couple of those teams were a 2-3 players and a HC away from being dominant.

Says someone who never played football, much less starred in it. Yeah, you would know more than those who have been there and done that.

When Romo was injured in 2016, it was time to move on from Romo. It was clear his body couldn't keep up with the game. Now we've hit that point with Dak. Dak said we were going to see the best football of his life and then the 2024 season happened. He's cooked.
It's time to find a new QB.
