I'm just enjoying the convo. It's late for me. 3 hours past my bedtime.

Looking forward to picking this up with you guys tomorrow.

I'm not totally upset at the pick. I just believe we need more help than a single player can do for us. There's some good talent in the 2nd round ... could have had one of them.

Good night guys ...
Have a good night Eddie I am about to head off as well

Jenkins is another culprit who'll be gone after this upcoming season. Now's he's been replaced and the Cowboys secondary has been greatly improved. By drafting Claiborne the Cowboys could possibly trade Jenkins to help get back into the 2nd round. The Cowboys still have several picks to address the interior OL there's still good players out there.

As I've said in other threads, if the intention is to give up Jenkins as a bust next year and move on then I like this move a heck of a lot more, even if its an admission of prior failure.

If the idea was to keep the 1st round pick, the $50M Newman replacement AND the guy who costs the top end of this draft, its way overkill for CBs when there are bigger holes elsewhere (even at safety).

I think this pick guarantees Jenkins don't see a 2nd contract from us.

Took awile to post had to look up their names huh

It did take me a minute to remember their names, because they were complete non-factors in the places they played before. I'll tell you what. I will offer you 4:1 wagers that Bernadeau doesn't start day 1 for the Cowboys.

Really? LOL. Livings was a scrub who barely started for a crappy Bengals team. Do we want the Bengals scraps? Bernadeau. HAHAHAHA. He hasn't played a full seasons as a starter ever. He is an absolute SCRUB.
Bengals made the playoffs.

They were not "crappy" last year.

the offensive line will be improved by just adding Callahan to mix. He will get more out the players. They still need to add someone to mix at center and I expect they will in 3rd or 4th round or June 1st cut. I think dallas has enough at Guard to be serviceable.

You're more kind than I am. Whether they intend to keep Jenkins or not, using their 1st and 2nd round picks on a CB is horrible value.

You have to tell me your last username first then we will bet none of the fa guards start day 1

So Callahan is a better OL coach than Hudson Houck?

The idea is the Cowboys have given up on Jenkins this will be his last season in Dallas unless he's traded before the season. He looked like he might be a real good player a couple of years ago but that hasn't been the case.

Never been on this board before. Have the mods run my IP addresses. There will only be 3: 1 from work, 1 from my phone and 1 from home.

The reason none of the two free agent guards will start is because they suck.

Give it until Day 2 is done before jumping. If Round 3 turns into Ben Jones, C, Georgia, this draft is awesome. Or maybe Brandon Brooks is still there in Round 3. Round 2 still has Cordy Glenn, Mike Adams, Jonathan Martin, and Amini Silatolu.

RD 3
Ben Jones, C, Georgia
James Brown, G, Troy
Donald Stephenson, T/G, Oklahoma
Kelechi Osemele, G, Iowa St
Brandon Mosley, G/T, Auburn

RD 4/5
David Molk, C, Michigan
Brandon Washington, G, Miami
Philip Blake, C, Baylor
Ryan Miller, G, Colorado
Tom Compton, G/T, S Dakota St
Adam Gettis, G/C, Iowa
Ronald Leary, G, Memphis

Now if the Cowboys don't address OL at all, I may join some folks on the ledge.

TWO rounds.

Oh, so tomorrow at 7pm, the draft starts at round 3 for everyone? Because we could still make a move to get into the 2nd round. Geez. Let's actually wait to see what happens before we declare the sky is falling.

A lot of people have Clairborne rated as a true game changing stud in the Revis mode. Even though I am a trenches first kind of guy i can make the argument that spending a ton to get him when after next year your best DB will be Carr (and by a lot) is a fair move to make.

But if its because they are giving up on Jenkins then its just overspending to make up for past mistakes.

But they already dumped the biggest culprit in the secondary and replaced him with a $50M substitute. Was blowing the top two picks of the draft necessary too when the interior OLine, which is just as big a problem, has been barely addressed?

That can't be done in rounds 3-7?

We spent 1st and 2nd round value on Claiborne. Trading back into round 2 doesn't change that, because there will be a cost to do so.

We have 4th and 7th round interior lineman. They are the problem ATM.

Run my post history. I am the one who had the pic of Carr getting off Jerry's private jet. I work at the Arlington Airport if you want to come meet me, I will be there tomorrow. PM me and I will set you an appointment.
