+1. Both interiors are a joke. We have guys who never started at the college level competing for jobs as Dallas Cowboys. That is a complete joke.

The way a fan thinks, in the real world of football if your D can stop the opp. team and give you the ball back, which Dallas D did not, then why would Romo be running for his life, we would not be playing from behind and we could run the ball because we would not be passing the ball try to play catch up ball, so in the real world of football this is a very good pick..

I hope he had an Adementium infusion in his bones. Do you really trust Costa, Kosier, and Holland? We haven't drafted their replacements, so we can only assume they will be worse.

Two of those players are gone we added to vet linemen with starting experience including one that has has started 3 years and started for a playoff team last year. He is for from terrible or incompetent is he an all pro no he is not but lets not act like they can not start in the NFL on a playoff team . They may not be big names but they are solid and young enough. Think Kosier before he got old . Then we do have some young linemen still developing it is not like the cupbard is totally bare. Those guys need time before we totally right them off (no I am not talking about Costa).

Once again over reaction because we did not sign pet cat A: Nicks or B draft pet cat linemen who buy the way slid to 22.

Once again more people that do not understand how teams are truly built, salary cap or the difference between premium position on a team and one where you can get buy on solid play.

Before you start throwing out the word JAG every team in the NFL wins with a lot of players that are not probowl. By the way name all the all pro interior linemen on the SB winning team. Oh that is right the team with two all pro Guards New Orleans got sent home before the SB. Then the All pro Guard Makins was abused in the SB by the Giants one of the reason Brady got beat up in the SB.

This thread is pretty entertaining, and stupid. G/C don't get drafted very often in the first round because there are decent ones in any round. OL that get drafted in the 1st are typically Ts. That's also because T is more important to keep the QB off the doctor's table, and interior linemen are "dime a dozen" like RB.
Here's the AFC East's starting interior linemen, and the rounds in the draft where they were selected.
NE: Mankins - 1, Koppen - 5, Waters - UDFA
MIA: Incognito - 3, Pouncey - 1, Carey - 1
BUF: Levitre - 2, Urbik - 3, Rinehart - 3
NYJ: Slauson - 6, Mangold - 1, Moore - UDFA

I'm not going through every team in the NFL because it will take too long. I think this is sufficient to make these zealots relax for a second... Maybe...

As I've said in other threads, if the intention is to give up Jenkins as a bust next year and move on then I like this move a heck of a lot more, even if its an admission of prior failure.

If the idea was to keep the 1st round pick, the $50M Newman replacement AND the guy who costs the top end of this draft, its way overkill for CBs when there are bigger holes elsewhere (even at safety).

Not being able to keep Jenkins next year will be because he will be too expensive. The exact opposite of being a bust.

I really wanted DeCastro, the reason being was I think he will be an elite player. However, I never thought they would be able to land Claiborne for a million years. They added the #1 defensive player in the draft, at a position of need and who plays a premium position for a 2nd round pick. At the end of the day that will have a bigger impact on this team than signing a guard.

Way to go Jerry and company! I will take quality over quantity any day of the week.

Yeah, the draft is over at round 1, rounds 3-7 do not matter and free agent college talent never pans out!
