Romo is the man until the Cowboys say he's not. And my guess is that will depend on how Dak plays.

Which nobody know right now. So we'll see.

This is not good. This is so not good. This puts Dr. Jerry Jones in charge of when Romo returns. And add to that the fact Romo also thinks he has 5 more years left. That's a bad combo of doctor and patient in terms of their judgement and rushing Romo back too soon. Last year Dez came back to soon and we all know what happened when Romo came back. Surprised so many think this is good news. Maybe it would be without Dr. Jones.

He doesn't need to , keep a short leash , no stupid extending play , just throw the damno ball away !

Also put a premium on the supposedly best OL to keep their QB clean , Elliott and Moris will be a help to keep the D on their back.

Of course its football , avoiding hits all the time is not possible, but atleast he can avoid someone jumping on his back .

Romo extending the play is what makes Romo Romo. If he can't extend the play, he's Matt Cassel.

He will come back, take another huge hit, and just lay there

Romo is one tough dude but yeah probably. The mind is willing but the body is no longer capable.

As much as I'm a non believer in Rayne Dakota, if there is any success at all with him early on I ride that out for a while rather than bring Romo back sooner than later.

We're talking about a minor fracture at this point. It's just the nature and location of the fracture that requires him to sit out. Otherwise, he'd play through it like he does everything else.
I dont know if you should say any fracture on spine is minor?
It isnt a big deal if allowed to heal properly, and all the way, otherwise he could refracture it, and that wouldnt be good.
Time off for injurys is also part of football, and this also gives his CB more time to solidify.

I dont think this is a SB year, more than likely it is playoffs, but then they run into teams with the better defenses.
So save tony for later in the year or next year.

It seems to me to much emphasis is put on these early games, and getting to playoffs, and not enough about
what they will do once in playoffs.

I wish y'all knew what the heck you were talking about !!! Thank God for the years we got to watch Tony, but it's over. He's done, and he will never be the same. Why can't y'all get that through your brains? What's happened the last few times he been hit? Uhhhhhh, it's time for him to hang them up.!! We have a better chance moving forward without him.
Man please. Ive seen ya posts, and know you despise Romo. Get it through your brain that hes a top QB in this league and will come back as soon as hes healthy (maybe even before knowing him). You and a lot of others are failing to put his injuries in to perspective. Yes he broke his collarbone twice.

The first time a 300lb drove him right in to the ground in an akward way, thus breaking it. This would have happened to anybody.

The second time he broke it, he clearly came back too early, got sacked, and broke it again. Do you know why he came back early? Because this team and coaching staff have shown they can not win without him (something that you and a lot of this board continuosly forget).

The last injury was a small fracture in a place that wont allow him to play. Romo himself wanted to go back in the game after it happened.

They will rush him back as always and he will get hurt in his first or second game again.
Well it is partly tony too, I imagine he wants to play week 1, so someone needs to save him from himself.
If he is constantly saying he can play, then if Dak struggles, or they lose game or 2 then they will cave to tony.
I dont think Sanchez will ever get on the field unless dak is real bad game 1.

I am more excited to see game 1 with Dak than I would be if they said Romo is starting game 1.
I just hope he gets 4 games to show what he can do.

I think this all depends on how Dak plays. If he comes out guns blazing, they're going to be very cautious with Romo and let him sit. If Dak stinks it up, then Romo is going to come back before he supposed to, like last year.

I was for Romo going to IR, but I get it. When I put my own 53 together I couldn't find my 53rd guy. I figured he would come via trade or waiver wire...and on that front the Cowboys remained quiet.

And let's let Romo and the Cowboys decide when 2.Romo's playing days are over. I saw the game. I saw the hit. 3.But I also saw a QB fighting to get back on the field 15 minutes after the hit.

Now I'm no doctor, but this injury doesn't seem as bad as the ones he's suffered in the past. And I'm sure the team isn't going to rush him back either.1. The fact is that they know a whole lot more about his status than any of us do. So keeping him on the 53 should tell us all something.
1. sure they do, but how do you explain them letting him come back with the CB not fully healed last year ?
2. His playing days are not over, but they need to play dak and see what he can do, and let tony fully heal.If dak flops play sanchez see what you have there.
3.admirable, but stupid, it was a preseason game lol and no one including tony knew what had happened. Kudos to JG there for saying no.
Had that been a real game tony probably goes back in and possibly makes it worse,

Simply put. It's the right move.
It's already been two weeks plus.
He may still miss six games, but what if he can go in four?

What's it going to be then, eh?

They will rush him back as always and he will get hurt in his first or second game again.
I am almost certain this will end up being the case. Romo would play with a bloody stump and everyone is overly dependent on him. It will accelerate if the team isn't winning. Just like last year.

This tells me two things. Romo is closer to coming back than all of the speculations from the media and they're not as comfortable with the young Jedi as many are. If I am Garrett and the offensive coaching staff, after what they went through last season, and starting a rookie with Sanchez as the reliever, I wouldn't put Romo on IR either.

They'll trot him out whether he's healthy or not. We've seen it before. I expect to see him out there within 4 or 5 weeks now.

If Romo returns by game 5 that would be a little over 6 weeks since he was injured. That would be right in line with some of the prognosticators timeline. That wouldn't be rushing him to return.

Broaddus had said he heard 4-6 weeks was the timeline for the return of #9. Then there were the 6-10 week reports and most recently 8-10 weeks. No one knows but the doctors and Romo. The bone should be fully healed by 6 weeks. We'll see how it goes.
