Romo's amazing INT/Pass attempt rate.

Can someone please post his TD/INT ratio, yards and qb rating for December this year?

Dude see a doctor about your reading comprehension issues. You keep quoting SEASON STATS in response to my post and a follow up about THE LAST FIVE GAMES. He tried to clear it up for you, and you responded AGAIN with season stats. Not everything that goes through your head needs to immediately appear as a post, take time to let it rattle around in there.

Let me clear it up for you in small short bursts:

Romo has no picks the last 5 games

Cowboys have had problems scoring points the last 5 games

Is it maybe due to Romo being too cautious?

Should we maybe risk more and live with more INTs if it means many more points?

Discuss. But not you, because you're ********.

He has no INT's for the past 4 games...He threw one against Washngton .

Gah I thought last night made 5. But okay, 4. Heck, include it for 5, 1 pick in the last 5 and the point still stands. And it's not even a point- just more of a food-for-thought...

I don't get it ... How does Romo throw for a career best 392 yards in a game when he's been playing teh conservativez for the last 5 games?

Romo has been awesome this year. He had a couple of bad games early in the season, but has really stepped it up and become the LEADER of this team. Getting rid of TO was the best move Jerry has made in 13 years.

Why are you laughing? 7 against the Packers, 7 against the 'Skins, 17 against the Chargers (although should've been more), no more than 24 since week 8. I don't know that 'anemic' is the right term, but we haven't been a top-5 offense for quite a while. And I think it's true that part of that has to do with a change in risk-tolerance. And that's ok, but it's certainly possible that we don't have the ideal balance right now.

The yards have been there in most cases. Last night we finished our drives.

Where is Favre on that list? Hasn't he only thrown like 4 picks all year?

Because some people have no clue what they are talking about. There is no test for common sense required to get a internet connection.

Well that game against the Giants he didn't have a real high ypc. He just completed so many passes that his numbers were going to be high...he didn't play a very agressive game as far as passing down the field against NY.

He has 6 in 433....

Plus, he's thrown 3 in the past two games....against that easy schedule.....

Eskimo is right: our OLine has been subpar to say the least: better last night; but subpar overall IMO - and MANY others....that's not on Romo who gracefully avoided at least 3 sacks other QB's would've taken last night..

Our O-line is very inconsistent on run blocking and leaks like a sieve on pass blocking. We need some new blood up front next year.

Well I was a little bit behind the last two weeks...but out of curiousity why wasn't he on the list?

I don't know...I didn't put the list together....

Plus, Brady just threw another INT.....

Romo has thrown 7 interceptions on 478 attempts. He throws an int every 1.4% of attempts for the season.

Romo ... 7 INTs /478 attempts = 1.4%

A. Rogers ... 7 INTs/444 attempts = 1.5%
P. Rivers ... 7 INTs/406 attempts = 1.7%
T. Brady ... 11 INTS/490 attempts = 2.2%
D. Brees ... 11 INTS/477 attempts = 2.3%
B. Roethlesberger ... 11 INTS/400 attempts = 2.75%
P. Manning ... 15 INTS/532 attempts = 2.8%

Yeah, but lets not think the OC has anything to do with Romo's dramatic improvement in this area.

I posted these tidbits last night --

Since the Giants game in Week 2, Romo has the lowest interception percentage in the league -- 422 passes and only four interceptions. That's a 0.95 interception percentage.

To put that in perspective, in NFL history, only one quarterback has ever gone a full season throwing more than 350 passes and having only four or fewer get intercepted. That was Steve DeBerg in 1990, when he had four interceptions in 444 attempts. Yes, Romo's first two games count (actually, it's just the second game that was bad, because he didn't get picked off in the opener), but that just shows how incredibly well he has protected the football in the past 12 games.

Also, this was Romo's ninth game this season with at least 240 yards passing and no interceptions. That moved him past Peyton Manning (2008) into second place all-time. The only quarterback with more games in a single season with at least 240 yards and no interceptions was Tom Brady in 2007, when he had 10.

Romo has two games left to match or pass Brady's mark.

Nice stats for Romo.

Too bad he's a bum.

At least according to some on this board he is.

I think they have been shutup for at least one week.

Ware and Romo are two of the best players in all of football. Romo will win a Super Bowl if Jerry can put the proper support in place for him (players, coaches).

Right now, I'd only put Payton Manning ahead of him and that is more for consistency over many years. I think Romo could put up Brees numbers in the NO offense. Romo has fixed the main flaw in his game: those dumb turnovers where he tries to do too much under pressure and throws INTs or fumbles.

Here is the possible downside, for discussion - has his willingness and effort to protect the ball over the last 5 games, which we all think is good, perhaps led to maybe too low a level of risktaking, which has led to fewer downfield throws and some of the lack of offense over this same period? Lets be honest, other than against the Saints, we've looked offensively anemic. So, do we maybe want to raise our level of risk a little in order to possibly raise our level of reward alot?

Discuss...

I don't think the offensive dropoff (prior to last night's game) is due to Romo being too conservative. I think there were other factors in the offense, that others have pointed out here, that were the reason. I like it that Romo is taking care of the ball better and is becoming more judicious about the risks he takes. I think he is still trying to figure out where the balance is between risk taking and protecting the ball. We've seen some of his improvisation in the past few games. I see him growing as a QB and like the path he is currently on. I just hope he can keep this level of play going.

Jay Cutler has thrown 22 interceptions this season so far, and the year isn't over.

Chicago is the mecca of offensive-suckitis... Cutler should have gone to the Bucs
