Romo was leading the league in the passer rating stat.

Lets look further. Romo's passer rating against teams with winning records or possible playoff teams.

Giants
Colts
Panthers
Saints

4 Tds & 9 INTS

2 Td's against a prevent defense in the Giant Game

1 Td Today that was a horrible throw that should have been picked off.

1 TD = 3 yard pass to Witten against Carolina and they are below 500.

ROMO'S PASSER RATING AGAINST WINNING TEAMS: 71.3

You can cuss at me all you want, but the stats dont lie. We better be looking to draft a QB or bring in a highly paid FA. He just doesn't throw the ball well down the field. Without recievers making plays, the dinks and dumps against last place teams just make stats rise and innocent fans happy, but good teams will beat you in the playoffs, or playoff type games. (tonight)

Next Two Weeks:
Atlanta = Winning Record
Philly = Winning Record

I disagree with that. I think that Romo needs more work but he definately has potential.

This may have been an eye opener for those anticipating that he will win a superbowl this year. The defense and o-line are suspect very suspect and those will be the downfall of the Cowboys this year.

People want a repeat of the Patriots of 2001 but that defense was lightyears ahead of the Cowboys defense, so Brady didnt need to produce 30-40 points to win every week which Romo apparently has to do. Now that teams have watched New Orleans defend Romo, it may be a long remaing 3 weeks.

You want facts. Here is the most important stat. Romo is 3-1 against those teams.

Reality is he's 3 and 2. You have to hang the first NY loss on him. They were basically tied. Still good though!!

You could say that but damned, how much time do you think he got to prepare with the 1st team leading up to that game.....Ill call it a push.

You're exactly right. I don't understand how everybody doesn't understand this. Even Parcells said that 'Romo can drive a cadillac, but he can't drive a Ford'. Let's get us a qb who can drive either one. Romo is a nice kid, but he is a 'limited athlete', that why he was undrafted, and for good reason.

Who did you have in mind? Brady is showing what happens when his defense can't generate turnovers and points. Manning lost yesterday.

There are no QB's that can drive Fords anymore. Football is a team sport now more than ever. Teams that are not complete, don't win and the QB can't change that.

Agree with this pretty much. Parity rings supreme in the NFL. Almost EVERY game is going to come down to a handful of plays. It is almost impossible to find a quality QB if you want him to start and contend for a SB. If a team has one they are going to lock them up.

Romo had an 86.6 rating against Carolina and 89.3 against Indy. I would say those are good QB ratings. He's only struggled against two teams - Giants and Saints.

Ok, forget win/loss, lets look at the defensive ranks of teams Romo has faced:

6th (CAR)
17th (NO)
18th (IND)
19th (NYG)
24th (Hou)
25th (TB)
26th (Was)
27th (Arz)

He has only played ONE TEAM with a defense in the top half of the league (in terms of points scored). One! It was against Carolina, who he admittedly man handled. However, Romo, on average, plays against the 20th ranked defense in the league. He lights it up against the inferior, and is terrible against good teams. As the Tuna would say, some of you need to hold off on your tickets to Canton. Seriously.

I'm also finding it comical how many on here now are blaming the o-line or the defense for giving up so many points. I thought Bledsoe was to blame for all those miserys?

I have not seen every game Romo has played in....but coming from an outsiders perspective this kid doesn't look like he's a big game player...that should be a concern for cowboys fans down the stretch.....

oh for the love of GOD!!!! just when you think people can't get more stupid. someone comes along (such as this) and kicks the bar WAY THE HELL UP THERE and makes you rethink the depths of your fellow man.

this is romo's what, 6th, 7th, NFL game? he's not going to win them all and he's going to have some bad days. crap like this is just an all too glaring example of our "instant gratification" society we're becoming.

romo is doing just fine. we lost a game - nothing more, nothing less. let's put the tar and feathers right next to the annointing oil and realize he's got an entire career ahead of him and not just one bad game and he's out.

geez people.

and considering the head coach of the saints was largely responsible for tutoring romo, it's only natural he knows just how to hit him to win on his new team.

give romo time. if you're not willing to give players/teams time, then i'd suggest finding another sport.

5-2 as a starter is the only stat that matters. Romo didnt lose that game the defense did.

Look who came out of the woodwork as soon as Romo took some steps back. So predictable.

Hey, Norv Turner screwed up the great Aikman in 95. The Commander defense sat on his tendencies. It happens. Romo and the team will overcome it. I hope soon.

Dont get upset. I'm just giving you stats. The stats dont lie

6 weeks worth of stats had you coming to that conclusion?

wow, better warn Carpenter, Ratliff, Fasano, and every other "new" guy in the NFL that if their stats don't say "stardom" right now, forget about it, they are doomed as "average" forever.

why don't you just jump off the wagon now before you fall off and hurt yourself?

I find this a very telling stat. My concern has been that the o line has been declared much better with Romo in and I think this stat tells us much more of why the o line has appeared better.

I'm afraid the shine is coming off a little here and that's good for us and Romo. Truth is sixth round pick Tom Brady dinked and dunked his way to success while Belichick's great off line picks matured and provided an impenetrable wall for him for the last 3 or 4 years. Give Romo all day to throw and even though he doesn't have a strong arm he can be consistently accurate. With receivers like Owens, Glenn, Crayton and Witten there should be plenty of places to throw.

But the average to above average teams know now that pressuring Romo brings out a little deer in the headlights in him and causes him to get sporadic with the throws (a 5 ints night last night was very possible). Atlanta and Philly both can bring at least a little of that, and if they get emboldened by any kind of a lead it could get ugly.

All this talk about getting a good seed in the playoffs could turn into getting a good seat to watch the playoffs from.

Funn how quickly things turn around here.

Kinda makes me sick.

Brady was shut out today - does that take away his 3 Superbowl wins?

You can cut a man some slack when he is wearing three SB rings. Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in ten years. There is a difference.

If fans aren't allowed to declare Romo great after 6 games, then haters aren't allowed to declare him a bust after 7.
