Romo's quote is disheartening to me...

Sorry but those weren't on the WR's. Both those passes were just plain bad passes and horrible decisions.

Agreed, both were way short.

Imagine you're running full speed, or to the post - and the ball is floated shallow and towards the middle. Really hard to stop going full sleep, jump up and box out the safety and 'make a play.'

I've seen both of these guys go up and make plays their whole careers, those passes weren't well placed.

Romo tries to give his receivers chances to make a play quite a few times. He did it twice last sunday, with both Williams and Owens.

The trouble is, neither one seems at all eager to go up for the ball, or make any sort of an effort to make a play when Tony gives them that chance.
He tries to give them opportunities, but doesn't. That's the problem.

Very depressing point of view by Romo... When that happened I was floored. Even before he tossed it I knew we were going to go in down at the half... Just like a punt? ooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkk... Sure our punt team consists of 5 huge immobile offensive linemen.... :(

I think you guys are overreacting to something that's not a big deal.

My QB has a chronic turnover problem and makes a statement after a bad performance dismissing a key turnover of his in the game as a "punt". This turnover directly resulted in a lead change, loss of momentum, and the team wound up chasing those 3 points the entire second half.

I think there are grounds for major concern here.

If I had wanted to say that those were "on the WRs" I would have.

First of all, are you disagreeing with his statement that it's like a punt? If so, what is there to disagree with in that statement? It was third down. Had that pass been an incomplete pass or had we not run for enough yardage, we would have punted the next play. It was like a punt.

Come on now, one of those passes was way under thrown (to T.O.), and the other was thrown into doule coverage if not triple. If ya are going to praise him then he needs to get his butt handed to him also.

Dude, you're such a bad ***.

Looks like Romo thought he could throw it farther than he could, but neither play was the receiver not 'making a play on the ball'.

Playing WR in the NFL is about more than just making catches when you've got 5 yards of seperation and it's a perfect pass. In both of those cases, with as much as those passes hung, those WRs should have been able to do something. But they have very little ball skills when the ball is in the air, and have very little fight in them. There's no praise for Tony there, those were terrible passes.

But how many times does Tony bail the line out, his WRs, Andre Gurode?

Sometimes as a QB you need your WRs to bail you out.

If that had been Steve Smith instead of TO and Williams I bet at least one of those would not have been picked, and may have even been a reception.

Pathetic comment. He woefully underthrows into double coverage expecting TO, who is running a go pattern, to make a play on it.

And if Romo connects with T.O. and we score a TD out of it, Romo is then just as good as Tom Brady and this article is never posted.

a miami fan at a bar where I watched the game asked me about this very thing. He was wondering on both those plays why our WRs did not even try to get them, just let them fly away.

and yes, i hate it when QBs sit on a ball at the end of first halfs...

Rome underthrew both passes 10 yards, lol TO had no chance running full speed, stop a dime and come back and bat the ball down within a split second......come on bad throw period........

Brady's arm is strong enough to put the ball 55+ yards down the field where he wants it. Romo has to hop step and pray really hard to get it anywhere near Brady's level down the field.
