Romo's reaction

What do you think Tony's reaction will be if, in fact, he does not get his job back when cleared? Big distraction with locker room choosing sides, or will he accept the role of mentor and good teammate? Hmmm

If Dak plays well the next 3 games and goes atleast 2 and 1 over that stretch you have to consider leaving Tony on the bench. Any less than that though and I think there is no discussion and Tony comes back in. The reality is Dak probably has to play very well and go 3 and 0 over this stretch for a good chance at continuing to start..

I'm not here to convince anyone. That would make me look like the type of fan I truly despise.. A Lebron fan.

When Romo returns, I'll cheer him on with hopes that we can keep this momentum going while also praying that my head doesn't spontaneously combust.
It's all we can do. But to think Romo isn't a very competitive guy is kind of nuts after playing through some of the injuries he has. Passive guys don't do that.

Jerry wouldn't make any better decisions no matter what the record is. He's a low ball gambler for the most part. People forget he wasn't all that hyped about Romo taking over at QB. He would have kept going after the Quincy, Hutchinson types. Fools gold.
That's not correct. After 3 straight 5-11 seasons Jerry was forced to go outside his comfort zone bringing in Parcells who before Jerrys meddling ran him off prematurely had us on the brink of a team which could contend for a championship.

I think he'll be a stand-up guy to the team once he comes to terms with the decision, if it were to happen. It's not going to happen yet, though.

Bleu, you're badly wrong if you think Tony is a passive influence on this team or that he does anything ho-hum. He's the single biggest voice in the Cowboys locker room and everything he does is deliberate and carefully considered. I swear, I have no idea what some of you guys think you have been watching all these years when it comes to how you describe Tony after-the-fact.

I know a few things I haven't been watching. Playoff wins, NFC Championship games, Superbowls. Nothing else matters a whole lot.

Romo is not only one of the most competitive players in Cowboy history he is the Ironman of all time rivaling Emmitt's heroic performance in 1993 finale against the Giants playing with one arm.

Your partly right but you have the reason Jerry brought Parcells in wrong. Jerry's own words. I needed a new stadium and had to put ***** in seats. Once that happened jerry did what he did, and we have been coach training ever since. Wade was never a good HC in this league. So I just chalk that up to being the puppet.

We've all missed that. But your targeting the wrong person. Yours Bulls Eye should be on Jerry not Romo.

I've been on both sides of the spectrum, and the closer we get to his health returning, the more I think it makes the most sense for him to start.

However, there is still football to be played, and Dak can change that with some strong performances against Cincy and GB

Romo will get his job back and play the rest of the year if back hold up.

After the season, I think they will look to move forward with Prescott

Romo's contract situation also comes into play. He's a candidate for release next June given his age and cap hit, especially if Dak continues to play well, which may be best for Romo and the Cowboys.

But again, Dak needs to continue to play well for that to happen.

Everyone knows who still owns the team right? I think Romo will get his job back and gives us the best chance to go far in the playoffs, imo. I will also fully admit that I wanted Wentz before the draft but after the Eagles moved up, I knew we would not be able to get him. I am happy that we drafted Zeke. I think he is going to be a great player for us. I am glad that we have Prescott and think he is great leader. He does have some accuracy issues but what qb doesn't. Aikman who I think is one the most accurate qb I have ever seen even had issues with accuracy at times. Prescott has been compared to McNabb, Wilson, and the work ethic of Brady. If he can duplicate the success that those qbs had in their career, I will take it.

Of course but if weren't in the 5-11 funk he wouldn't have brought in a real coach . Jerry of course still found a way to screw it up like he always does.

Yup, winning has been the second most important thing in Jerry's life. That's for sure.

It's a damn shame Romo could only win 8 games with the worst defense in Cowboys history in 2013. If Murray doesn't fumble away a long TD run and/or Dez doesn't fall victim to "the process of the catch" rule, Romo is probably playing Seattle in the NFC title game in 2014.

Those are just 2 examples of years where the Cowboys falling short was not because of Romo, but the QB is always the easiest to blame.

Yes, he wants to win but only his way. Jerry put all of these revenue generating mechanisms in place so winning wouldn't be necessary to stay on top in revenue so he could continue his selfish foolishness at our expense. Brilliant manipulation of the system. And we're fixing to put in him in the Hall Of Fame as a result. Totally disgusting.

All of the dislike for him that was present in the early years has been quietly seething under the surface, apparently. I have to admit, I expect very little from our fans in general, but this caught even me by surprise. I thought we were so far past this garbage.

Pick any great player from recent memory and you can have any number of complaints about him from this fanbase. Remember how Ware was just a stat ***** who couldn't do it when it mattered? Yeah, our perennial 15+ sack HOF player was bashed constantly by many in this fanbase. I'll never put anything past them again.

Yep. The only year we've had a top defense this Century was in 2003 which took Quincy Carter to the playoffs.

Romo has always been a passive leader so he will take it in stride in a ho hum fashion and fade quietly. I fully expect him to start after the bye week though. I'm already working with EOD in an effort to prevent my head from exploding when that happens.
What a joke post. This is embarrassing.

I never said he wasn't competitive. If you make it to the NFL, conventional wisdom would say you have some fairly high level of competitive juice inside. However, being a leader of competitors is a whole different ball of wax. I consider him a passive leader... & if anyone would like to prove their claims that he's one of the most vocal members in the locker room with video I got all night. (well just an hour or so but that wouldn't have sounded as good).
