It burbles under the surface on both sides of the QB discussions. I really wish it wouldn't.

Personally, I don't see race or gender, so I just assume both players are white middle-class females until somebody tells me otherwise, but apparently that's not actually the case.
Again, I keep it simple. If Dak was white and doing what he's doing it would be the same. For the record... It's crazy that I have to even go here but... For the record, contrary to the hilarious @Risen Star's man love for Wentz, I actually love me some Wentz too. Dude is a baller and I look forward to the Dak/Wentz battles for years to come.

If you would have said "Rich Asian middle class females", then you would be on to something

I think he'll be a stand-up guy to the team once he comes to terms with the decision, if it were to happen. It's not going to happen yet, though.

Bleu, you're badly wrong if you think Tony is a passive influence on this team or that he does anything ho-hum. He's the single biggest voice in the Cowboys locker room and everything he does is deliberate and carefully considered. I swear, I have no idea what some of you guys think you have been watching all these years when it comes to how you describe Tony after-the-fact.

I might be, if I knew what any of those things were. I now only see them as 'human, biped.' Not that there's anything wrong with anybody who only has one leg, mind you. I'm evolving faster than the rest of you guys, though, probably.

When I said it burbled under the surface, to be clear, I was referring to general Romo-hate, and not to anything involving race in any way. I don't think people hate on Romo because he's white. I think they hate on him because his teams haven't won more games.

What do you think Tony's reaction will be if, in fact, he does not get his job back when cleared? Big distraction with locker room choosing sides, or will he accept the role of mentor and good teammate? Hmmm
We wont have to find out.

What you guys fail to realize, is that the desire to move on is more prevalent than you've ever imagined. I hear it every weekend at the watering hole not just by my fellow Boys fan but also from fans of other teams expressing themselves regarding the elephant in the room.
One thing Cowboys fans should never care about is fans of other teams wishing a player off the Cowboys because that's usually a good sign.

So it's called hating on him?

I call it expressing my real emotions after stacking up a number of occasions over the years where I have gotten up and left the watering hole with my tail tucked due to yet another untimely turnover during clutch moment.

But let's just pretend like those things never happened.

Seems a lot of fans forget how "HE" lost many of those games. Simply look back at the names around him for many years. Plus a coach in training. He's been priceless for the last ten years.

These are intelligent people that couldn't care less about the Cowboys. Some are just very casual football fans that strike up good conversation. The general gist of the conversation is usually "Romo is a heckuva QB but he just doesn't have it any more. He can't stay on the field. He's fragile.." Yes. I hear that from other fans. That's just real talk.

All of the dislike for him that was present in the early years has been quietly seething under the surface, apparently. I have to admit, I expect very little from our fans in general, but this caught even me by surprise. I thought we were so far past this garbage.
I've been a critic of Romo but more of a critic of our franchise and mgmt. Romo has provided this poorly ran franchise most of the highlights from this era.

The grave era has been with his talent level to expect him to elevate us higher. He's masked or disguised the weaknesses on the team and protected us from hitting rock bottom which would have forced Jerry to make better decisions in football operations.

Of course they happened.

But they certainly didn't happen as much as you wish them to have happened.

I'm not here to convince anyone. That would make me look like the type of fan I truly despise.. A Lebron fan.

When Romo returns, I'll cheer him on with hopes that we can keep this momentum going while also praying that my head doesn't spontaneously combust.

He will accept his role and be a stand up guy.

He is smart enough to know that anything else is counter productive and will basically do no good.

Jerry wouldn't make any better decisions no matter what the record is. He's a low ball gambler for the most part. People forget he wasn't all that hyped about Romo taking over at QB. He would have kept going after the Quincy, Hutchinson types. Fools gold.

I think he will get his job back. If he is still the Tony of 2014 he will make us a much more rounded offense. Adding the deep threat will be paramount for this team. However, if the last year and a half have diminished his skill set, I can see him being yanked in a heartbeat. I just hope he can let it go when the time comes.

How many games were our awful defense going to win for us?

Romo was only good enough to elevate a 4 win team to 8 or 9 wins most years. With his talent level its amazing what he's accomplished. One of the most over achieving undrafted QB's in NFL history.
