So he considered they were all rookies then...got it.

He doesnt have to mention every single thing he takes into account to do so.

"Lets rank an unproven rookie over a superbowl winning QB because of a couple weeks of stats" lol not.
I don't understand why this is so difficult.

The writer is ranking QB play in the first half of this season. No Super Bowls have been won yet, so far as I know. Maybe there has been some secret Super Bowl that's been played in the last 2 months, but I haven't heard about it.

But if no Super Bowls were played in September or October, then Super Bowl winning QB's on this list is irrelevant.

Tom Brady is at the top of this list because he has been the best QB in the league this year (at least in the games he's played). Not because he's won Super Bowls in previous years.

I have no doubt that Linehan and ex-QBs Garrett and Wilson are well aware of what needs to be done. But it appears that gutless Jerry is going to play to the fans/media and wait until we lose to do anything. As long as that doesn't leave only 1 game for Romo to get ready, it's probably not going to mess up anything letting the kid play it out.
It's gutless to go with Dak over Romo?

No, that would actually take a lot of guts. It's gutless to play to the fans and be worried about having the Stephen A. Smiths of the world second-guess you...

I think hes more concerned about possibly mishandling our new franchise qb than Stephen A Smith. Also he may have noticed that things are going very well with Dak and he might want to let it play out. But hey, thats just my thoughts.

I'm glad that Andy Luck is finally getting ranked outside of the Top-10 for once. Oh wait.....

One game is all Romo might have left in him.

This is a HUGE game for Dak. Struggle this week and he will find himself on the bench. Do well and it might buy him another start or two.

Regardless , we have found our new franchise QB. When the Dak era truly begins or has it already begun is the only remaining question .

I do agree that it's a big game for him.

We need to see the mechanics cleaned up and the same accuracy we saw earlier in the season.

I don't think they care about what the media thinks. If they do, they sure have a hard time showing it lol.

The rankings are based on how the players are playing so far this year.
Fair enough

Dak isn't having a better season than Luck. Yes, Dak's QB rating is (barely) higher, but he's being asked to do far less. Luck has 4 games with over 300 yards passing. Dak? 0.

Efficiency stats always look better when a QB is being sheltered. I went back and looked at the first 8 starts from a young QB in Carolina. Over those 8 starts, his team was 6-2, he had 7.6 ypa, and a QB rating of 97.5. Was that Cam Newton? Jake Delhomme? Nope, it was the legendary Matt Moore. The starts were from 2007 and then 2009.

Dak is throwing for more yards than Moore, but similar to Moore the games where he had a high QB rating were all games where the number of pass attempts were in the 24-32 range. Until young QB's are asked to do more--meaning more pass attempts and accruing more yardage--their stats will always be skewed. It's apples and oranges.

Is Dak clearly better than Moore? Of course. After all, there was a reason his starts were spread over two seasons and in both cases they came toward the end of the year. But I used the stats from a career nobody to illustrate a point. A lot of those efficiency stats don't show what you think they show. And neither does team record.

It would not surprise me if I may eventually regret posting something that could more quickly move this thread to the Quarterback Zone than presently but...

Forum question: Why do some people (fans, media, etc.) imply or flat out say that sitting Prescott will negatively impact his abilities or development? I've witnessed a young man displaying incredible poise and a pretty good skill set--both of which are indicators of a potential career franchise quarterback. He has "it" in my opinion. "It" won't magically evaporate if he's not on the field. Football is an OLD sport, littered with too many examples of players who have succeeded regardless of how much time they didn't play the game at any particular point of their careers.

It's a strange logic to follow. Take mental stamina of example. I saw Prescott play (once) in high school, then at Mississippi State, and finally now with Dallas. In my opinion Prescott has the necessary drive to become the best quarterback he can be. Not everyone has that type of determination or enormous will. Yet... some people insinuate or declare that sitting him will "break" him in some way. Nonsense. What do some people subconsciously fear they have in a I-Hope-The-Prescott-Bubble-Doesn't-Ever-Break? Jim Druckenmiller??

What do some people think would happen to Prescott if... gasp... he ever got hurt and missed starting time? Would sideline time "ruin" him in some way? Kinda insane. The logic's spewing out the crack in the dike.

I know that wasn't directed at me, but I'd think we're way beyond worrying about sample size with a vet like Romo.

Again, the guy hadn't played well on the field since 2014.

And since that time he's aged two years with multiple injuries.

He's going to have to show the Cowboys' brain trust what he still has in practice.
