rotoworld: All signs point to Owens leaving cowboys *Merge*

Ah, OK.. So Garcia didn't benefit from the talent around him in SF. After he left SF, he never sniffed more than 13 TDs throwing. Garcia sucked in Cleveland, and didn't put up good numbers with Tampa Bay as well. Did TO make them worse? Hell, McNabb had how many TDs the year he had Owens? The guy had 31 TDs throwing, with his second best season at 25, in 2001. And McNabb didn't play one game during the regular season. You people act as if Owens makes QBs worse, when even McNabb, his mortal enemy, says that they could have accomplished a lot together. How about Romo's performance when TO went out last year? How about the play-off games, when TO had a high-ankle sprain... Please...

All that happened when the bread was still fresh! That bread is now molding...

I heard adam shefter on with the musers this morning.

He really is awful. He had no information whatsoever.

HIs opinions are stereotypical of the outsiders view.

anyway, seeing him and a few others saying owens will be out means nothing, but jay glazer's name does carry weight with me and makes me hopeful. Its getting to the point like when before we signed him. Every national media guy had reasons to believe we would sign him. I hop they are all right again.

oh and if we could trade him for an actual draft pick and make him go to nfl purgatory in one shot! I will never bad mouth jerry again.

i would take a third for Owens, but even though he is a troubled player he can still produce. So i mean, it would at least be worth pushing the envelope on the trade.

yeah just the fans who also poy these players saleries.

how would trading a player somewhere that he didn't want to go screw over the fans? Short term we might get a draft pick, long term if Jerry played that, we'd see fewer FAs wanting to come here.

If we could trade him i'd be all for it even for a 7th as long as we don't take the cap hit that comes from cutting him

there will always be free agents that want to come here.

I'm not saying he didn't but it's just as much on him, IMHO, as it is his agent when they miss filing paper work before a deadline. That's a very simple act. They're both to blame there.

And I get what you're saying about how they could have got nothing but, if you're looking at it honestly, they basically got nothing.

They went from getting a #2 for him to getting a spare part who I'm not even sure actually made the team.

Actually they went from letting him walk to getting a #5 pick and a DL who started for them until he tore up his knee.

I highly doubt that:D

When Jay Glazer was first talking about this on NFL Network, I was surprised at how candid it all was. Glazer was acting like this was the big common conversation at Mobile during the Senior Bowl. And Schefter acted like he knew some of those same things.

All of these guys are just getting my hopes up though. I'm tired of the drama, and I want TO sent packing.

But my obvious fear is that while coaches, scouts, and everyone else in this organization might want TO gone, Jerry might just keep his shiny play-thing.

That's why I won't believe it until I see that it's 100% official in triplicate.

I mean, the Dan Reeves hire couldn't have been any more "done". The guy was even in the building working for several days.

And then Jerry sabotaged it at the last second.

I promise I wont.

I didnt before owens got here. I was completely satisfied that jerry learned from his old ways, kicked out the old crew and had allowed parcells to set a foundation for the franchise.

Then he panicked and signed owens.

then this past year he signs johnson and pacman while removing ferguson and fasano.

So Those were things that I dont understand and they are the same things jerry does when he is in control.

He has removed pacman and johnson and if he removes owens I will be happy, If he sends him to Oakland, I would be ecstatic.

No one could be released before yesterday. Pacman was released yesterday for that very reason. Learn the game.

I realized that. I meant that if he was gonna be released, we would know it by now. Been saying it for a while.

Do I need to insert a smart*** remark now?

Because Jerry treats people well. If he didn't it would be a different situation.

Jerry isn't sending Garrett packing, because he owes that bum 3 million dollars, and people think Jerry is going to send TO packing, because he will cost 600,000 thousand against the salary cap. Just because the hit to the salary cap is that much, doesn't mean that is what it takes out of Jerry's pocket.... The guy has at least 13 million dollars guaranteed in his contract, and people think the Cowboys will get rid of him for a 'third' round pick or by just releasing him? That is just a stupid return on investment, and nobody in their right mind, including the anti-TO crowd on this board would do it if that was their money.. Just because Jerry Jones is rich, doesn't mean he throws money away... Funny how people conveniently forget that little clause in the contract that prevented Terry Glenn from signing a contract?

that and because Jerry hands out big contracts like nothing and because we are to football as to what the Yankees are to baseball.

Yes removing garrett is something that is comparable to removing owens.

Anything else?

Not true... Tony Romo could have made a lot more... Jerry has been one of the best at handling the salary cap. The Pac-man Jones contract is a case where Jerry made out pretty well. Snyder on the other hand...

It isn't, and that is why I made the comparison. Jason Garrett flat-out sucks and they were about to get him a baby-sitter, because the Rams bailed on hiring him as a head coach. Jerry still didn't fire the bum, most liekly because he is owed 3 million dollars. Hell, even I wouldn't do that. I'll tell you what though, I'd try to hire him a baby-sitter or make sure he runs the ball.On the other hand, TO has actually accomplished stuff on the field, plus he is owed 13 million dollars in guaranteed money. So people expect Jerry to forgo common sense when it comes to TO...Yeah, that's brilliant... Next time you throw away a 13 million dollar investment, then come back and talk to me...
