X-rays did not reveal a broken bone in Roy Williams' shoulder or
collarbone, two sources told Todd Archer.

Williams' suffered a sprained left shoulder when he collided with
Orlando Scandrick near the end of Thursday night's open practice. We
do not yet know the timetable for his return.

The Cowboys will provide an update Friday.

These can be just as bad, depending on the severity. Let's hope that it's a mild sprain.

This is great news, but a sprained shoulder could still screw him up. I hope it's not a bad sprain.

o.k., Where are the doctors?

How long is sprained shoulder out for??? He has 2 weeks till the season. He can even miss the first week if necessay.

Can be out for up to 3 months if it's a grade three sprain.

Does anyone want to stuff Florio in a trunk and cut him up into little pieces and feed him to sharks in the middle of the ocean in order to get rid of the evidence or is it just me?

Scandrick gets to live.

Maybe. It's still totally stupid. The whole reason you don't wear pads is precisely so guys don't get chippy and hit each other hard... Because who's going to hit someone without pads on? Unless you're a moron like Scandrick.

Yeah, love that chip on his shoulder and arrogance he plays with.

Yeah, I'm gonna take it down. It was an emotional move and I'm calming down now.

I hear you brother. I was pretty upset myself.

Scandrick is one hell of a corner though, and he's just competitive.

Incomplete diagnosis for Roy Williams
Posted by Mike Florio on August 27, 2009 10:56 PM ET
A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that X-rays on the collarbone of Cowboys receiver Roy Williams were unexpectedly negative.

Multiple sources tell us that the initial diagnosis was a broken collarbone. One source tells us that Williams himself told multiple teammates that the collarbone was broken.

For now, Williams has gone home for the evening. He'll ice the area, and the team is expected to conduct an MRI on Friday.

We apologize for jumping the gun on this one. We assumed (***-you-me) that the information was based on an X-ray, and it's our fault for not ensuring the proper degree of clarity.

So it's good news for Williams and the Cowboys.

Unless the MRI shows a break.

nope.I felt it was unnecessary bump though, not really warranted.I didnt realize it was that serious.RW was trying to stretch it out.

Thanks for replying. That is three times Scandrick has put Roy down or hurt him.

Someone please, keep him away from him.

Can you believe how ridiculous that crap was?

I wish I knew what the exact circumstances were, but the guys on D seemed to back Scandrick up. Then again, they would. Oh well, crisis averted.

In a word? Heck ******* yes!

Of course, that should have been done a long time ago...

Scandrick needs to chill

I disagree 100%

You practice like you play.

Of course I hate that Roy got hurt, but we need more players like Scandrick.

for real! i guarantee Scandrick just lost the #2 cb job to Jenkins.

lol, the worst part is the scare doesn't affect the management so we probably won't draft any WR's next year either.

Whatever Florio.

He wets himself whenever there's any possibility that something negative will happen to the Cowboys.
