Roy is still the best WR on the team

I like Roy, but....

Austin > Roy

I'm not even gonna argue that because I'm a huge Austin guy and won't be putting him down to prop up Roy. But he has to produce 1300 yards in a season first before I say he's hands down better than Roy.

It's a 'what have you done for me lately' league but I'm of the belief that Roy is still the same WR who got picked in the top 10 of the draft, who tore up the league in his rookie season before he got injured and who had more yards than any WR in the NFC in 2006.

He may not ever produce like that as a cowboy and the great thing is that we don't need him to. But it's nice knowing we have a guy who could go for 150 yards or 200 in any given game and not provide an Austin like shock.

Roy was brought in as a starter? Mendenhall drafted to be a back up right?

They drafted him in the first round to be a backup?

I thought you said smart teams do not do that.

At least that is what you said when we drafted Felix.

Roy is the weakest link on the offense.

If Barber played for the Titans, he'd be the 2nd best RB on a 1-7 team.

Just about any WR who would've played for the Texans would've been the 2nd best WR on a mediocre team.

Got any more flawed logic?

You don't draft back ups in the first round.

Of course he does, please don't ask him for more.

I think it's both Roy and Romo. They havent found that comfort zone and seem to be off page on the routes and passes.

Hopefully they get it together soon..

I agree, Roy is the best blocking TE on the team.

I still think it's a romo thing.

That could very well be the reason. But, here's a reality dose: Romo>Williams. It's not Romo's job to earn Williams' trust. It's the other way around. Thus far, Williams has failed miserably at the task. Otherwise Williams might actually look like the "#1 WR" that we traded for.

I'm excited that our offense is rolling without our "#1" receiver contributing much--if he and Romo start clicking, look out

This I agree with, also. It's obvious that, right now, Roy and Tony aren't "clicking". If/when they do: look the **** out!

So maybe I had to watch a couple of highlight videos to reinforce that opinion - and I urge you guys to do the same- but even though I might be in a small group, I still believe that to be the case.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pHmHeTZKKE (I think this one was actually put up by some guy named Roy E :p:

I still believe he's also the best WR in the NFC east.

I find myself thinking, if Romo was injured and Kitna was playing QB, what will Roy's production be like right now. And my answer: we'll be a worse team with a worse offense but with a clear cut number 1 WR, with number 1 numbers. I'll surely take this alternative.

I'm frustrated that he and Romo haven't got on the same page and this seems to be one of those exceptional cases where it takes too long to happen. But I believe they will. And Miles has afforded us to luxury of having more time for it to occur.

He's had some of his best games against the Eagles so here's to hoping that's an ominous harbinger for the inauguration of this connection ;)

Talk about uninformed posts. Having a little trouble distinguishing between potential and production, or is you definition of "best" completely different from the rest of humanity's?

Despite some of the company I'm keeping with this, I can't by any means see how anyone could say Williams is the best receiver on this team. All of the talent in the world means nothing if it doesn't translate into production on the field.

He's had ample time to develop chemistry with Romo.

He's a veteran NFL player, the same excuses allowed rookies in transition don't apply here. He was given ample leeway for last season, and there were promises that his lack of production was anomaly....at this point it doesn't appear so.

How can an undrafted rookie FA come in after only being activated twice and suddenly look more comfortable with a QB than a veteran future first that we spent a 1st and a 3rd....after the equivalent of an entire season AND an entire off-season?

I'm still holding out hope for him...I even drafted him on my fantasy team...got the start yesterday...

....but it all signs are pointing to this signing being a terrible mistake.

I keep waiting to eat my crow on this...maybe next week. :(

I think whether it is a ROMO thing or a RW thing they need to get on the same page ASAP. At some point, no matter who's fault it is, if Roy runs a different rout than Romo is throwing it to it is going to lead to a pick 6. Very fortunate yesterday a couple of times. That said, the guy has great hands and could be very effective if they can get on the same page.

That describes a lot of us. There aren't many posters out there that want RW to fail. If they do, then they're not Cowboys fans. They're just ******** who want to scream "I was right, I was right" all over the internet.

Can you people just put it to rest already! We're winning and everyone's contributing. Just enjoy it. It seems like some of you aren't happy unless a 20 page *****-fest thread is started every 10 minutes.
