Roy Williams "sorry" for fourth-quarter drop

I'm as big a Roy supporter as there is but that simply won't cut it. You can't just be sorry. Now you've got to go out and prove that it won't happen anymore when your team needs you most.

I'll say it now.

I'd give anything to have TO back.

Look, I was the biggest TO supporter. Even I wouldnt want him back. All he had to do was "talk a little less" and he would still be here. On the flip side I did see some part of his argument.

BUT if this team is playing better "as a team" without him then like I said I dont want him back.

Production-wise, TO and Austin being the focus with Jason being able to rome around in the secondary... WOW... but why didnt we do that last year?

That confuses me.

Besides, if TO was still here, the emergence of Austin probably wouldn't have happen like it has. Of course, maybe that would have allowed the Cowboys to sign him long term for cheaper! :laugh2:

Problem is, he is too busy trying to prove he is the number 1 guy instead of concentrating on the game.

He is his own worst enemy!

I thought he was too busy just trying to produce? I don't think he cares about being the #1 guy at this point. Just help the team.

Yep, I was for bringing this guy in but the fact of the matter is that his attitude has brought all this criticism upon himself.

Nah he should offer to commit suicide.

Why in the heck is this guy apologizing?

Seriously, some of his comments like "The sun got in my eyes" or "Now I have go get 300 yards" or whatever he said after KC Game and this, is starting to get more annoying then his crappy first down celebration.

He is the anti TO.Doesnt cause trouble but doesnt produce either.lol.Im speaking of a younger TO,btw.lol

Nah, if Terrell Owens would have had the numbers Roy Williams had (or lack thereof), he would have really destroyed this locker room.

But it would be kind of fun seeing Terrell Owens and Keith Brooking in the same locker room.

My guess, Keith Brooking whoops his arse by Week 3.

Sorry?

Roy, I'm "sorry" Jerry Jones gave up so much for you. This team has a chance to do something special in the next few weeks. Just try to stay out of the way.

Roy Williams "sorry" for fourth-quarter drop

Needing a third-down conversion in the fourth quarter from the Dallas 46, Tony Romo went to Roy Williams on a slant and the wide receiver could not come up with a big catch, forcing a punt.

"I dropped a ball, sorry," Williams said. "I'll make it up this next game. Sorry. Happens sometimes."

Williams is right, drops will happen, but that's a little too nonchalant, isn't it? Williams has dropped a few passes this year, like the big one at Green Bay. I don't know if I wanted to see him beat himself up but I wanted something other than, "Sorry."

"I'm not a guy who loses confidence in my hands or whatever," Williams said. "I feel I still have the best hands in this league. You've got to feel that way. I feel that way. It happens to the best of them."

On the Cowboys' next drive after New Orleans cut the gap to 24-17, Romo faced another critical third-down play from the Dallas 23. He threw another slant. This time it went to Miles Austin and he picked up 32 yards.

Just saying.

As much as I hate Roy Williams dropping passes, you DO NOT want your receivers to start or continually apologizing every time they drop a ball. Talk about lacking confidence.

I think the spotlight is too intense for Roy Williams. If he feels the need to apologize for every drop, he's done.

No Brooking wouldn't have done anything just like Zach Thomas didn't. That's why TO had to go. He was a lovable guy. He was productive. No one wanted to step on his toes even when he was in the wrong.

Two words: weak leadership. (From Wade and Garrett)

I disagree.

The reason why Terrell Owens is such a problem is that he is good at making friends with all the other "malcontents".

Guys that think they should have more playing time, more passes, more money etc etc. Whatever it is, Terrell Owens is going to find some angle and try to get you over to his "side".

There is no way Brooking would be part of Terrell Owens' "Circle of Trust".

lol, sounds like Romo's "it could be worse" sppech after getting spaned by the Eagles last year.

His act is growing old. I thought coming back to Texas would be the perfect thing to get Roy back on track, but apparently that isn't happening. That trade looks horrible right now. We got bent over hard.

I do agree with those that say RW is still in "Detroit Lions" mode.

He just doesn't understand what we are trying to do here. He needs to understand the urgency we need from him.

He should understand that by now.

I hope he figures it out soon.

"Detroit Mode"?

I've heard it all now.

It's been almost two seasons and people think he still has a "losing" mentality?

Besides, it isn't like the Cowboys have won anything but yet you have guys like Miles Austin contributing.

Roy Williams just isn't taking advantage of the opportunities he's been given. He got his contract and probably just isn't hungry anymore.

Long before he showed up in Dallas, I remember Troy Aikman talking about how bad of a route runner he was.

Then you have Michael Irvin come out a few weeks ago and say he approached Roy Williams and Miles Austin during Training Camp to give them some advice and one guy soaked it up and the other guy blew him off.

Wanna take a guess who it was that blew him off?
