Roy Williams : Stay or Go

You mean play well enough that his peers put him in the pro-bowl?

Oh wait.

He is replacing a dead man. WTG this year Roy.

Do you want Roy Williams to be a Dallas Cowboy after this season?

I want Roy to be a cowboy for the rest of his career.

(And don't say "Well if he's gone after this year, that will be the end of his career")

To be honest

i want him to go.

but he is on this team until his contract expires

Should've been another option
D) Roy Williams remains, just trade for the other Roy Williams :D

I've had almost a full year to watch him without saying much about it, but I think it's obvious he doesn't play like he used to. You get a big contract based on past performance, if after the contract you decline, you're obvliously stating you were just in it for the money and intend to just ride it out.

I guess it's not possible to simply dump him off for salary cap/contract reasons, but he is damn near defaulting on his contract, by not showing up on the field anymore. I'd like to see his obvious change in on-field attitude addressed by the people who matter: GM and Coach.

If by some miracle of salary cap/contract wrangling he could be given the boot, I'd rather see him go. You're only worth what you're doing at present and in his case it's not much.

Him dying is why he got the vote. Its an honor thing.

The guy is dead and still has more big plays this year than Roy Willy.

If Sean Taylor's death is the only reason Roy Williams makes the Pro Bowl, then what is the excuse for the remaining dozen or so SS in the NFC who will not be making the trip?

Just stop it  .

Does anyone really think Roy Williams won't be a Cowboy next year?

oh come on now - we must always be mired in some form of controversy even if must make it up! : )

I dont know. Chris Harris is having a better year than RW, but is missing the marquee name.

LEts not forget about Atari Bigby either. Same amount of tackles, more INT's, more FF, more passes defended.

I just want to see what the majority of the board thinks ..... not just what the real loud Roy haters and Supporters think.

I want to see the silent majority. ;)

Why?So you can make a list of all the members with an agenda?

Yeah, but Roy could beat him in the 40 now.

they suck more of course. but since they're not a cowboy, we don't care.

tunnel vision is a wonderful thing. : )

He had twice as many interceptions and half as many tackles ..... just like a Free Safety should on a Strong Safety.

Are you really saying Sean Taylor only got the nod because he died?

Taylor, who died Nov. 27 after being shot during a burglary at his home in Florida, was voted the starting free safety on the NFC team. He was having an outstanding season and was one of the leading vote-getters among fans at the time of his death.

They new he was dead before they (the players) voted.

He played half a season .... if he had been injured and had only played 9 games I do not believe the NFL players would have voted him in.

He is in because he died.

You would have a point if this was his first time going to the Pro Bowl, but it isn't.

If I am mistaken, I believe I heard that he was leading the NFL (NFC) in interceptions before he got hurt.

Jeebus Cripes...the things you will say and do to exalt Roy Williams is astounding.

Well, we know Roy's in because someone died. Oh the irony.

What we "want" and what is "practical" are two different things. I may want him gone, but the alternatives on the bench are much worse, and the cap hit alone would be punitive. Hence, we're "stuck" with him. What I want is what I've wanted from Flo: to play better and cut down on the stupid penalties. That said, a star on his helmet will not immunize him from legitimate criticism.
