on his base salary and they don't have to do it all at one time, again, providing those numbers are accurate.

Again, if his base salary is, let's say 4 millions for the '08 season, that hit figure drops down to 2.2 millions because his base salary comes off the books.

theogt posted somewhere, that it would cost 6 mil to keep him, 6.5 mil to cut him, next year I believe

thanks.

I'm assuming that's with the Cowboys taking a one time hit, correct ?

I'm not sure, all I know is that's makes sense fiscally to keep him

I guess he needs to come back strong for the rest of the season and next year because I don't think the Cowboys will keep him after next year if he comes back with the same attitude and production.

No, according to Sago's post, he's still owed around $11 million on his signing bonus. If he were cut, that is guaranteed money and I think it would accelerate into next season's cap number.

even more reason to keep him

So in your opinion it would be better for the Cowboys to lose 2.2 million in cap room AND a Pro Bowl safety simply because you dont like him?

he needs to make more big hits and actually make them. what happened to them!?!?! they were game changing at times. Its like he doesnt play with intensity anymore.

No, because he is not very good.

To bad his fellow NFL players do not agree with you.

You mean the same one's who who talk after our games with them and say things like "our plan was to attack Roy Williams?" Those guys?

No way he belongs in a Pro Bowl this year.

Luckily you dont scout for the Cowboys. The players and coaches who voted him into pro bowl disagree

Or the ones that call him a glorified ankle tackler..

That would be Plaxico Burress (one player btw, so your use of plural is unnecessary), the guy who didn't make the Pro Bowl AND the guy who the Steelers got rid of because he disappears in big games.

Since we can't move Roy in a trade (which is what I would prefer) I'd settle for him losing 15 to 20 pounds, and going back to SS lessons 101. If I were him, my offseason would be pure dedication/study/diet/excercise/ and technique school from one of the coaches.

Then I'd come bak next year and blow this league away. Remember, just a year or 2 or go, we were all ready to throw Flozell and Bradie James off this team, now we love those guys. (kinda)

Yea ..... the ones who voted him in the pro-bowl.
