It was a mistake.

Some sites do stuff like that when you attempt to post a picture from their site on another site.

IOW, an accident on zrinkill's part.

So, IOW, Zrinkill got auto pwnd by a remote site operator. Pretty good stuff. :D

basically there are some admins of sites who do NOT like you hotlinking to their pics. meaning you see a pic at http://www.somefunsite.com/images/classicpic1111.gif - when you see it, it could well be something like a little girl eating an ice cream cone at the park on a bright sunny day. you like it so you copy the code to show someone. THAT pic is now on your computers cache so it will come up like that TO YOU - but the admin, seeing a hotlink to one of his pics, routes it to some guy ben...nevermind. you saw the pic or you didn't.

the admins can help filter that and zrin did all he could to give them the link so they can block images in general from that site so it won't happen again.

people seem to get really uptight about a 4k picture sometimes.

I didn't need the details. (but thank you) I know exactly how it happened. I just enjoyed the humor of the auto-pwnage. ;)

Keep him if he's the best option, send him off if we have a better one. I love Roy but you can't be sentimental if you want to keep winning.

IMHO.....I think its time to cut ties...

Ive seen enough of him.....he doesnt represent the team well.......To me it seems like he doesnt work at his game......he still tries to use his God given talent to get by.

He is not a team leader.......always seems like it someone elses fault when things go wrong....Folds like a cheap suit when he is critized...and isnt worth the money paid to him.

I expected more......he showed flashes of it so we all know what he is capable of.....but the last few yrs......he is just going thru the motions...

I think he is just lazy and really....I dont really think he cares if he wins or loses.......I dont think the game is important to him anymore.....

great. so now what's your plan to replace him and his "tie cut" on our salary cap?

shouting OFF WITH THEIR HEAD is fun and all. but there's more to the picture than that we'd have to fix people don't seem to either understand or want to get mired up in. so we go your route and cut him.

now what? tell me the cap hit and how you'd go about doing this w/o cutting off our nose to spite our face.

I Love Good Ole Roy But He Is A Liabilty Now...trade Him.....

For who?

And then who takes his spot?

Why do people not realize that he's a big reason that we put teams in 3rd and long situations a lot?

Adjustments are being made in pass coverages. Stop whining!! Anyone with a clue knows that he's a great safety as long as we're not in long situations. And then, if we are in long down situations, all we do is make a personnel adjustment.

It's simple, those who want Roy gone, or who want to trade him, really have no idea what is going on out there.

Is it really necessary to append the "Cowboys for life" phrase as part of the stay option?

Just stop it  .

Does anyone really think Roy Williams won't be a Cowboy next year?

He'll be a Cowboy. No doubt about it.

Yep. That is why I am amazed that it is even being discussed.

I could see if there was an outside chance of him being cut, but his contract and his play have not even come close to warranting it.

This is an Off-Topic Discussion Forum at best.

can shed some light into this, but according to old article's numbers, based on the contract he signed ( 5 years, 25.2 million dollars with an 11.1 million dollars signing bonus ), if he's cut after this season the Cowboys would be on the hook for a 6.66 million dollars hit, provided they want to take the hit all in one time.

If those numbers are accurate, it would be interesting to know what his base salary is for next year, compare it to the 6.66 mills cap hit and see how much the Cowboys' cap is really going to be impacted. If his base salary is in the 3-5 millions dollar range, then the impact would be minimal ( perhaps around 2 millions, net ) and the Cowboys could certainly afford it.

I'm speaking strickly from the salary cap side of the argument.

you don't eat up 6.66 mil for someone who isn't here, unless that person completely blows, or is over-age, which Roy is neither

on his base salary and they don't have to do it all at one time, again, providing those numbers are accurate.

Again, if his base salary is, let's say 4 millions for the '08 season, that hit figure drops down to 2.2 millions ( I think ) because his base salary comes off the books.
