Roy Williams : Stay or Go

Or the ones that call him a glorified ankle tackler..

Yea ..... Burress hates T.O. almost as much as you do ....

I really don't care at this point.

Roy will stay with the Cowboys, and he will be a good player for us.

However, I'm not going to waste my time arguing with all of you about it. It's just a waste of time.

Ha, pretty much my feelings. Except that I want him to stay.

This is a great way to build your ignore list. :D

:lmao2:

Already noticed that a vast number of one group were already on my ignore list.

What ever.....I'm sick of talking about Roy almost as much as I'm sick of watching him rome the field like some lost dog.

How does one "rome" a field?

great. so now what's your plan to replace him and his "tie cut" on our salary cap?

shouting OFF WITH THEIR HEAD is fun and all. but there's more to the picture than that we'd have to fix people don't seem to either understand or want to get mired up in. so we go your route and cut him.

now what? tell me the cap hit and how you'd go about doing this w/o cutting off our nose to spite our face.

I dont know what the cap hit would be......if we had room....I would cut the ties....take the hit....we made worse mistakes extending contracts before.....I dont think we will run into cap hell from doing this........ but If its cheaper to keep him then I would.....but I would probally bench his ***.....or limit his role a great deal so Roy gets the idea that he is not playing well and he does need to work on alot of things..... because fines....media critizing....opponents game planning against him hasnt done the trick it seems.

I think Hamlin would fill in just real nice as a SS.......and with Walkins and Brown getting more experience.....I think they might do well as FS.....I think the problem last yr was that our FS starting wasnt comfortable making calls or mature enough to be a leader.....Now with Hamilin there....we dont need a younger player to be that.

I really do think Williams is replaceable.....unlike Ware or Newman etc....

Its a shame if we have to play and keep Williams because of his salary

Yeah, I probably should've voted stay.

I like him as a player, and I think that if we cut him, it'll hurt our team.

I mean that I don't care as in I'm not going to waste a minute of my time arguing with those who are set in stone.

I don't understand why his evaluation has to be a play-by-play basis. When he does NOT give up a TD, nobody cares. When he does, he sucks. He doesn't get credit for his good plays (see Tampa Bay interception last year), and he gets attacked for any bad plays.

Whatever. Argument is useless in this subject.

Wow 1/3 of this forum thinks he has to go. That is a lot of people. I was assuming it would be closer to 10%. All flames aside, tell me why Roy Williams has to go? That's not rhetorical question or sarcastic comment. I just want to know the other side. Why do you think Roy Williams has to go? It seems like he is at worst an above average safety overall. He might be weak in coverage but he is great against the run and has made plays in coverage at well. Why get risk getting rid of him?

I'll be honest, I can't believe this thread was serious when I first saw it

I actually just wanted to see where everyone really stands ..... the Roy haters keep telling me Roy sucks and half the forum thinks so ...... which you can see by the percentages ..... is not true.

i hope you see now that it's not an agenda. just a lot of frustrated cowboy fans

Roy takes up too much cap space

he is a overpaid tackler thats it. if he was a impact player i wouldn't be complaining

Looking at the people who voted cut him, with a few exceptions is like a who's who list of idiots and trolls

Why because some people don't agree with you?

I voted he go, knowing that cutting or trading him was not an option. Don't really care what I'm labeled. We all understand he is here and will remain so.
