What if Roy just isn't the player he used to be?

Happened to the other Roy. What if the guy just fell off?

That may be.

But there should be some reasonable explanation for that.

If one actually looks at him on the field, its not a physical problem. They just are not on the same page.

Well then I guess the real question is how many pages are there on the book they are reading from?

And how long is it gonna take to get on the same page?

You would think the media would be asking the coaches these things.

I think they need to adjust some of his routes, put in more crossing patterns, skinny posts and get away from the stop-n-go/double move routes that are called for him.Roy has good speed if you can hit him in stride, but if you don't it takes him a long time to get moving again.

You pose this question but from your posts I figure you are smart enough to know how valid your question is.

From watching the games, do you think he can't get off the line? Do you think he's fully blanketed always? Do you think there are times the ball has been thrown his way were he's been so covered there was no chance of a completion?

Above all, do you think if it were Kitna in the game instead of Romo that his production would remain the same?

Bottom line, they just need to get in sync. It's exceptional and maddeningly frustrating that they haven't yet. But it's gotta happen!

I'm listening to Romo in his pc on the Cowboys website. He said that he overthrew the dig route and needs to bring it down.

a reciever should adjust to the pass

man how hard is that for you to figure out ?????????

Romo is throwing to other guy the make an adjustment

you think every pass is perfect

how long do you give RW's an Romo to get on the same page ???????

what another year ?

what if they can not get it done ?

RW is TO, without the strength and speed

When asked by the reporters after the game, he basically said he did his best to catch the passes and then he said some werent where they were suppose to be. He was then asked about who was to blame for the miscommunication on the routes. He d idnt answer the question. H ere is a guy that has about 2 patterns he can actually run and be successful that is playing with a qb that is supposedly trying to take care of the ball instead of putting it in harms way. Roy doesnt get much separation so Romo isnt throwing him the ball and when he does he seems to be putting it in spots that only Roy can catch it

Basically Roy Williams, who cost us a 1st and 3rd round draft pick and is currently making $54 million over 6 years, is having to answer why he is far less productive than a 7th round draft pick out of Northwestern Oklahoma State with a $14 million/4 year contract, and two undrafted free agents, one from Monmouth University and the other from Northern Illinois, both making $1.545 million with 1 year contracts.

He makes as many, if not more excuses than you know who.

Maybe he isn't that fast, maybe that combine 4.3/4.4 doesn't translate into Sunday speed in pads. Maybe he is limited to the routes he can run because he isn't very quick. He doesn't get in and out of breaks well. He doesn't come off the line of scrimmage well. The routes he's good at running are ones that involve the QB throwing high risk passes. So "even if I'm covered, throw it" sounds pretty stupid for a QB that people give a hard time about being careless with the football. Thats why Romo doesn't look his way. He isn't that good in practice, he's had a mediocre camp, and its translated into a piss poor season for a guy that we expected to set the world on fire.

Our scouting department dropped the ball here, Jerry jumped the gun when Romo went down last year.

Thank God for Miles Austin because otherwise we would be in very bad shape at the WR position for years to come because of 3 draft picks and a ******** big contract.

Think about it like this, how much is Roy worth on the trade market right now?

one of the Fox crew said something really telling

that Roy is a certain, route type of receiver, that he can't run routes that call for him to run a pattern

that's pretty sad

Miles Austin can, and he can run slants and drags

Yeah, he's gonna flat out lie about making bad throws.

so he got 14 catches for 249 yards this year - boy at this pace he might just beat his preformance he had last year of 19 catches

I have no idea what is wrong here with them 2. I'm sure both are to blame but it seems more him than Romo. I mean almost EVERY pass, they are not on page. I give the benefit to the QB more often than the WR. It's already been a year now. His numbers are pathetic. Just another TO. He's not as expressive in the media but he does have that pouty attitude with him and he will make remarks. Keep that crap in house.

I will agree he needs to be used better. Hit him on those quick passes and get him the ball quick, instead of those long developing pass plays down the field.
