Rumor: Jerry has eye on Cowher and Fisher

Taken from another forum: As per sirius NFL Network. Heard this in the morning that Jerry had these two coaches on his wish list. I hate to talk about this after a great win but personally even if we won a Super Bowl with Phillips I am not a fan of his as a head coach. On the other hand I would love either of those two, esp Cowher and the toughness he would bring. They were saying Fisher might be fired at seasons end.

I wouldn even want Fisher. I dont want any coach who is to stubborn to do whats is best for the team. If the Titans miss the playoffs he should be fired, and I dont want him. Besides that I have seen him go into the prevent too early one too many times this year. The most memorable was week one against the steelers.

Why would anyone think Jerry could not have any availible HC he wanted?

These are the same people who couldn't believe we'd get Parcels when that talk surfaced or that it would never work.

We are the Dallas ****ing Cowboys.

This is the NFL's flagship franchise. No HC would turn down the opportunity to coach this team.

You have a loaded roster and a franchise QB. This isn't exactly a rebuilding project we're talking about here. Any great HC could come in here and have us in next years SB.

And stop with the nobody wants to work with Jerry BS! Parcels 4 years here proved that's just not the case.

I'm a Sooner fan. I have historically been a big fan of Bob Stoops, but I'm not sure he is as good of a coach as he once was. I think his brother, Mike, was the "fire" that drove the Sooners defense, and was the motivator behind the scenes. I think Bob has the ability to be a great head coach in the NFL, I'm just not sure he has the "drive" to aspire to the greatness that he once had.

IF Jerry does look for a new coach, I'm still leaning toward Shanny. I think that with Romo at QB that Shanny can have a lot of success with this team. If we didn't have a good QB then I would be more skeptical. I think Shanny would be stronger in the discipline department and could give this offense a few more creative wrinkles. The biggest question about that scenario though is who would run the defense?

You could make that argument with Cowher...not sure how you can make the same argument with Fisher...seeing as Fisher is currently employed and it would take the Titans to fire him or Jerry to trade pick(s) to get him. This is not college where another team can just hire away another teams HC without picks.

Hey it's just a rumor.

I'm sure Halas wouldn't work out here because he would want more control than what Jerry would want to give, either that, or Jones would stick him with a clause in the contract about the amount of hours he was to work at Valley Ranch

I still think Garrett with a more aggressive/teaching DC is the way to go... Sorry but Cowher won 1 Super Bowl in 15 yrs... and his team has won without him. How many Big Name coaches win Super Bowls for 2 different teams? Shula, right?

Shula only won with Miami, no coach has ever won a SB with 2 different teams.
