I want Garrett as HC/OC and Wade as DC. :D
In other words, have their offices swapped over the weekend.

Jerry isn't giving Cowher any power and Fisher was a dream that vanished when Vince Young and CJ started running wild.

Jerry would have liked Fisher according to multiple media members but Cowher is simply not accurate.

Okay, I never have any "sources" and I guess I don't have this time, either, at least first hand.

But today my dad told me that a guy he drinks coffee with on Saturday mornings is friends with an assistant coach on the Titans, and he claimed that Fisher wants out of there and would like to coach us. Said he's sick of the owner and has had a lot of run-ins with him.

Now this is weird, because although my dad is a Cowboys fan (and the reason I became one at about age three), he doesn't keep up with the NFL that closely and he'd never heard anything about Mort talking about this recently. He barely knew Fisher's name and didn't know Bud Adams' name.

Take it with a small Siberian salt mine if you wish -- I wouldn't blame you. Even if it's true, I don't see how Fisher could get out of his contract.

Interesting stuff.

I hope Jerry isn't thinking about this though. I hope all he's thinking about is a playoff run.

Now, if we don't win the Super Bowl this would be something interesting to think about. He has experience and seems young (looks young), so he may stay around for awhile.

I cant stand cowher or fisher...i think both are highly overrated, imo:star:
Live in Nashville and have to watch almost all the Titan games. Fisher is totally over-rated.... I no fan of Wade but had rather have him than Fisher - and that's saying something.

Jeff Fisher, who had Miami backed up inside their own 5 yard line with 3 times out and let the clock run out to go to overtime? in the end Tenn won the game but that was stupid.

Yeah, that was an utterly moronic move there. How about Fox passing up a 52 yard FG at the end of the half when his kicker had just nailed a 47 yarder that would have been good from 60 2 seconds earlier. A lot of bad coaching going on in the league right now.

Cowher in Carolina or what ever station he works for - 15 yrs 1 SB

Fisher - Tenn - why would we want him 15 years no SB wins - plus he had only 6 winning seasons

end of story

Fisher has had 6 winning seasons in 15 freaking years.

I dont get why everybody is all over his jock, I would rather just keep Wade.

Edit*******When has Cowher won jack without the refs having to give it to him??? 15 years in Pitt and his only championship was given to him with a bow on top by the refs. So, why is everybody on his jock???

Why would anyone think Jerry could not have any availible HC he wanted?

These are the same people who couldn't believe we'd get Parcels when that talk surfaced or that it would never work.

We are the Dallas ****ing Cowboys.

This is the NFL's flagship franchise. No HC would turn down the opportunity to coach this team.

You have a loaded roster and a franchise QB. This isn't exactly a rebuilding project we're talking about here. Any great HC could come in here and have us in next years SB.

And stop with the nobody wants to work with Jerry BS! Parcels 4 years here proved that's just not the case.

I agree - this is a dream job for a coach in most ways. You get a good roster, a young franchise QB, the best defensive player in the league, the best practice facilities in the league and an owner with deep pockets who is highly committed to winning.

The downside is whether you can accept sharing the spotlight with the owner who is also the GM.

Some how I doubt we'd get either of those guys. Maybe that's just me.

I strongly disagree with you. My father-in-law is a die-hard Steelers fan and I told him right before the Saints game, the Cowboys will go out and hire Cowher. He just shook his head.

I would be happy with either Fisher or Cowher. But I believe Cowher can be lured to the Cowboys.

At least Cowher has been to the playoffs and won playoff games. Two Super Bowl appearances. Championship games. Won a Super Bowl. Demands respect and gets it.

Although I really want Wade to succeed here. Get his playoff wins and hopefully win it all.

It just seems like it is more the system in Pitt than Cowher being all that great.

I mean, if Cowher is all that, then how does he leave and some no name (at the time) in Tomlin comes in and wins a SB right away???

Wade hasn't won a playoff game in 8 years as a head coach, and that's just a coincidence? :laugh2:

And someone explain to me why we'd want Garrett as head coach? The only reasons Garrett would be hired are his ties to the old days and Jones being comfortable with him.

His side of the ball has vastly underachieved this year, and has digressed from where it was in his first season. No team would have him as their head coach, other than of course, the Cowboys.

The problem with Garrett is that his offense is like a Porsche with a V-4 engine. It looks real fast, but when you look under the hood you are not that impressed.

Meaning, his offense racks up tons of yardage (we rank in the top 5 in almost every major statistical category), but we dont score the points to match.

I believe Vince Young has saved Jeff Fisher's job just like he did when he was a rookie.

I would love to see Bill Cowher become our next Head Coach.

However, if he isn't allowed to bring in his own staff, such as an Offensive Coordinator, I think it would be a waste of time and Jerry Jones should just promote Jason Garrett and get it over with.

Why is Rumor Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, opining about Dallas offseason moves?

What do the Patriots, Steelers, Indy and Philly have in common? Continuity and a Plan.. They are well run organizations.. What do bad teams have in common? Every 2 or 3 years they get new coaches and GM's with philosophies.. Jerry needs to break the cycle and stick to a plan that works.. One year we are a throwing team. Next a running team. Mobile O-line, then road graders, 4-3 then 3-4. Soft coach, Hard Coach then back to soft coach. Ect.. We're the Dallas Cowboys not the DC Commanders..
