This! And IIRC the trade deadline has been pushed further into the season, also. Wait for a team to get desperate and fleece them.

Exactly.

I really dont give a dam what Jenkins wants, hold onto his arse and wait for a team to lose a starting CB to injury. ACLs happen every year in preseason, somebody is going to lose their starting CB and will be desperate.

Then we can move in and fleece them for a couple of mid round picks or maybe one high pick. Thats the smart move here, trading right now would be dumb.

Is there anybody here who can translate that into standard English?

Try a little harder. Im sure you can figure it out, but if you truly dont understand he is saying:

Mike- "Oh I don't fold bra I'm real fella..TRANSLATION- Im not going to just give up and quit, its not in my nature and Im true to myself. "Im out here while Im our here..Translation-As long as I am a Cowboy then I am all about being a Cowboy and my heart is not anywhere else.

This, he deserves to be playing somewhere, and here he is riding the bench, I would hate my contract year to be parked on the sidelines.

Well maybe if he was not as soft as Charmin or maybe if he didnt suck when he did play, the team would not have seen the need to pay a free agent CB $50 million and use the #6 pick overall on another CB.

Just saying.

All this discussion over something turtle head, John Clayton said? I usually use anything from him as bird cage liner or to pick up dog poop. That is what its most useful for.

It's just kind of funny to me. When Rob Ryan came here he sung nothing but praises for Scandrick, and how he felt the D would be able to use him. And as well as Jenkins played last year, I dont recall him ever saying anything about him

If he asked for a trade so what? If this team has so much confidence in Carr, Claiborne and......Scandrick, then trade Jenkins for what you can and let him get his elsewhere. No sense in keeping a guy whose talent is obviously not valued here.

The problem is, after the Eagles dropped Asante Samual for a 7th rounder...Jenkins value by comparison means we would practically have to give him away, which may very well be what the Cowboys do.

Oh, well, I guess it was poking fun. But you have to admit, second hand info from the liqour store clerk is a good target to poke fun at.

I didn't say that you were making anything up, I just think the whole situation is kinda funny. Could be all true, but still kinda funny.

If you can't see that, then I feel sorry for you. Lighten up.

No problem. I didn;t know it was you that posted the original info and I know there has been a lot of joking about it. I can see where you would get tired of it. For what it is worth, your info seems right one.

Jones needs to play hardball here and not give in. If Jenkins is upset, at some point he'll realize he has to show up and play well to get paid next year. The players in the locker room all understand the business and why Jenkins may be upset.

The curious thing here is noone is challenging Scandrick here. I understand his forte is playing the slot and all, but is he really that good that his spot goes unchallenged?

No, which has been my point all along. He did absolutely nothing to warrant a contract extension

I am a bit concerned over Jenkins attitude. Instead of embracing the challenge and trying to take the spot, he seems to have accepted that he is odd man out (if the rumor is true). I hope this poor attitude doesn;t translate to the field. this being the last year of his contract, if he pulls another year like 2010, he could find himself on the streets in 2013.

Scandrick was always considered in competition for the starting job ahead of Jenkins the first couple years in the league. The contract they gave him tells me they think is still a player. I don't know what happened last year, maybe it was just a combination of people not doing their jobs, but he did regress last year.

Jenkins has to understand that shoulder of his forced the team to look at CB. There is no guarantee he can come back with that. If he does, great, but if not, they had to make some contingency.

You got all that from what he said? I never would have got it. Thnx.

If that is what he is saying then I see no reason for everybody to get all worked up and want to see him gone.

I want Jenkins to rise to the challenge as much as anyone. And I certainly believe his best course of action is to work hard in his rehab, support the team, prove he's recovered and valuable.

I do find it a bit pollyanna if people think that Jenkins who reportedly will miss TC time due to his rehab/recovery is going to put either Carr ($10M per) or Claiborne (6th pick overall) on the bench in their inaugeral year. The starting jobs are theirs to lose and its not going to happen with Jenkins at less than full strength.

I'm the last one to preach "highest contract plays" in most circumstances. But in this case, in year one, when Jenkins literally has one good arm, he has no realistic shot at beating out those other two.

It's similar to believing there will be an open competition between Romo & Orton to see who starts.

Add to this situation that Scandrick, a lesser player, got paid (in a sense) and its not hard to see why Jenkins is struggling emotionally right now. But there is plenty of time for him to get turned around emotionally and make the best of this. It makes little sense to cut the cord with this guy right now.
